Having spent yesterday evening dwelling in the basement along with Wigan, we raise our sights tonight and turn attention to the battle for the top four places. Spurs make the trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in a fixture that will go a long way to deciding which of the teams enjoy Champions League football next term.

It’s a fascinating scenario: a Blues defence that has kept three clean sheets in four face up to Gareth Bale, a player who will eat resolute defending and wash it down a glass of hot steaming man marking. Tonight looks a mouth-watering midweek prospect.

Our Duguout Discussion is now open to welcome those who like some real-time chatter with their TV dinner.

The team news from the Bridge is predictable enough. Rafa Benitez is able to welcome back Eden Hazard after a calf injury kept him out of Sunday’s Old Trafford victory. Gary Cahill also returns to the defence, shifting David Luiz into midfield, while Fernando Torres continues his see-saw rotation with Demba Ba up front: Frank Lampard and Victor Moses also make way and join John Terry on the bench.

Andre Villas-Boas returns to face the Bridge faithful and brings in Scott Parker, Emmanuel Adebayor and Lewis Holtby into his starting lineup. Moussa Dembele misses out through injury, while both Jermain Defoe and Clint Dempsey are amongst the substitutes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I've enjoyed it so far. What I like about it is that the storyline changes depending on how you play the game.

E.g. If you start killing everyone there will be more rats and you will get an evil ending. Whereas if you play more stealthy without killing loads of people you will get the 'good' ending. (didn't want to say happy ending 😉 )

It's weird, isn't it? I think what happens in Chelsea's build up is that the ball is knocked into Torres/Ba, they hold it up about 40 yards from goal then lay it off to one of the three amigos. They then play the final pass to one of Chelsea's mids to score while Torres/Ba are left behind in the pace of the attack.

Alternatively, in goals coming from a slow build up, Torres/Ba are used to occupy the centre halves, almost as a decoy. The three amigos then play tiki taka around the edge of the area from which one of them finish.

Either way (and set pieces), Torres and Ba rarely get good and clear opportunities. Will have to check this with the Opta stats.

I still don't believe Moyes will be announced as manager tomorrow. If its true then I would hope United at least have a little bit of class and wait till Everton's season is over.

The rules of the stock market mean they have to announce it if a decision is made.

It's a shame many of Chelsea's fans became spoilt and ungrateful as a by product of their financial fortune. I hope the same doesn't happen to Manchester city fans who I've always liked.

That is fair enough my friend but i know a lot of Celtic fans been Irish myself and a lot of them are bigots they could not even name the team if i asked them but i know there are proper fans out there no offense intended

That is a bit different to supporting Celtic football club. They are using the club as a vehicle for religious and sectarian purposes. If they can't even name the team that tells you everything.
