We roll out the seventh article in our assessment of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Player List this evening. Having previously published articles on Goalkeepers, Budget, Mid-Price and Premium Defenders, we’ve brought you the lowdown on Budget Midfielders and Mid-Price Midfielders over the last couple of days. Next up, then, we look at what’s on offer in the premium midfield bracket.

Arsenal duo Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott are amongst the highest-priced midfielders on options this season after finishing third and fourth respectively in the 2012/13 pecking order. While Cazorla outscored his fellow Gunner by 205 points to 194, Walcott played over 1,000 minutes less than the Spaniard last season yet still picked up 14 goals and 13 assists. Given that the England winger is also cheaper by 9.5 to 10.0, his eye for goal suggests he looks the best bet in terms of both value and overall points potential in the season ahead. The x-factor here, however, is that Cazorla topped the rankings in the new bonus system (BPS) amongst the midfielders. The Spaniard earned a total of 279 BPS points last term, 34 more than any other player in his position and finished third overall behind Jan Vertonghen and Robin Van Persie; Cazorla could therefore be expected to improve on his 19 bonus points earned last season.

While the Gunners have just two options in the premium bracket vying for our consideration, Chelsea have as many as five midfielders priced at 8.0 and above. New boy Andre Schurrle and Frank Lampard will set you back 8.0 and while the German’s more advanced role is enticing for the price, the competition for places in the attacking midfield three means he’s far from guaranteed regular starts. Lampard, on the other hand, should feature far more often under Jose Mourinho and with spot-kicks in his locker, racked up 15 goals last term. Having notched in three of his last five starts, Oscar seemed to be finding his domestic feet as the previous campaign halted and, at 8.5, is an intriguing option, though there still seems some uncertainty over his consistency of starts purely due to the number of alternatives on offer to Mourinho.

Eden Hazard (9.5) and Juan Mata (10.5) will likely remain the Blues main men. Mata is looking to improve upon 212 points in 2012/13 and also has the advantage of corners and occasional set-pieces, though Hazard’s kinder cost gives him the edge in many Fantasy managers’ books after a debut season harvested nine goals and 16 assists. Given that Chelsea could be set for a double Gameweek 1, getting this call correct will be key to a strong start, as shown by last season – with Kevin de Bruyne and Victor Moses also in the hat for game time, Mourinho’s pre-season line-ups are being studied carefully.

Marouane Fellaini’s Fantasy potential much depends on Roberto Martinez’s tactics for the season ahead. If, as many anticipate, the new man in charge opts for a change in tactics, the Belgian would no longer profit from a role in “the hole”, with a switch into central midfield virtually killing his appeal. Given that both Kevin Mirallas and Steven Pienaar would likely be part of a front three, thus handing us far more budget-friendly, out of position options within the Toffees midfield, Fellaini’s 8.5 price tag would surely be hard to justify.

Three goals, five assists and seven bonus points from just 12 starts in the second half of 2012/13 have elevated Philippe Coutinho into the premium bracket after just half a season on Merseyside. The Brazilian’s role on the left of a front three in a 4-3-3 affords him an out of position berth, though he’s equally capable of flourishing on the flank when Brendan Rodgers reverts to a 4-2-3-1. Coutinho has already produced a goal in each of Liverpool’s pre-season friendlies and while his position within the Reds’ system seems pretty straightforward, it’s yet to be established just where forwards Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge and Iago Aspas will be fielded if Rodgers plays the trio together, with all three capable of leading the line. As a result, some may opt for the security of Coutinho, at 9.0, with Suarez’s suspension and possible move away adding further confusion to the situation up front.

Reds skipper Steven Gerrard is similarly priced and despite a deep-lying role, racked up 10 goals and 12 assists in his first season under Rodgers – a score of 185 points was his highest since the 2008/09 campaign. With spot-kicks and a share of set-pieces and corners in his locker, Gerrard’s Fantasy resurgence could be set to continue and with game time guaranteed, he’ll be hoping to benefit from the new Bonus Points System – he would have finished fifth highest overall in the new scoring metric last season, racking up 245 points to Suarez’s 199 points for the Merseysiders.

Similarly to Chelsea, Man City have a quintet of midfielders priced at 8.0 or above. New boy Fernandinho and Samir Nasri, at 8.0 apiece, are perhaps unlikely to earn many suitors – the former’s more withdrawn role in front of the back-four is expected to limit his attacking potential, while Nasri could struggle for regular game time as Manuel Pellegrini looks to put his own stamp on the City side. Indeed, Yaya Toure (8.5) may also offer less going forward if the new man in charge looks to implement a 4-2-2-2 formation, with the Ivorian tasked with partnering Fernandinho in a deep-lying role. Ultimately, it may well be a couple of Spaniards that prove the most attacking options from the Etihad club. Jesus Navas (9.0) will inject plenty pace down the City right flank and, while David Silva (9.5) should switch to the opposite wing in a 4-2-2-2 system, he may be utilised in the role in “the hole” if Pellegrini moves to 4-2-3-1, with the likes of Sergio Aguero and Stevan Jovetic capable of filling in on the left should the new man in charge opt for Silva’s trickery from a central position.

With just 87 points accrued in his debut season, Shinji Kagawa failed to flourish in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final year at Old Trafford. Despite a disappointing first 12 months, the Japanese playmaker is priced at 8.0 – the costliest option within the United midfield, though there’s no doubt he has the potential to be a bargain if Wayne Rooney leaves Old Trafford and David Moyes hands him the role behind Robin Van Persie. Kagawa seems a ready-made replacement for the want-away Rooney but with United reportedly keen on bringing another playmaker to Old Trafford, the jury is still out on this one. Bearing in mind that Nani, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia are all more budget-friendly, Fantasy managers may yet find better value within Moyes’ midfield if Kagawa fails to cement a regular role under the new manager.

Last season’s Fantasy phenomenon Michu moves up to 9.0 after his debut exploits for Swansea. However, if the Spaniard can replicate hauls of 18 goals and three assists, that price tag will be justified. With new boy Wilfried Bony set to lead the line, Michu should benefit from a return to the role in “the hole” after Michael Laudrup was forced to field him as a lone forward on a number of occasions towards the end of last term. While Laudrup is expected to utilise rest and rotation to a greater extent this season as a result of Europa League duties, it seems unlikely Michu’s game time will suffer – he simply looks too key to the Swans’ prospects to be left warming the bench. With United, Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal in the opening six Gameweeks, though, many may decide to shop elsewhere until the schedule takes a turn for the better, while Bony’s 31 goals and eight assists from 30 league matches in the Dutch top-flight offers an alternative route into Michael Laudrup’s side, albeit as one of our three forwards.

An outstanding 2012/13 campaign has seen Gareth Bale priced head and shoulders above any other midfielder this time round. The Welshman moves up to 12.0 after producing 21 goals, nine assists and 50 bonus points in the season gone by and with a superb opening run of matches that pits him against Palace, Swansea, Norwich, Cardiff, West Ham, Villa and Hull in the first nine Gameweeks, the explosive potential which produced 14 sets of double figures in Andre Villas-Boas’ first season at White Hart Lane makes Bale a hugely appealing armband option. While some feel the acquisition of Paulinho could prove the catalyst for a switch to 4-3-3 for the season ahead, with Bale fielded as an inverted right winger, the imminent arrival of Nacer Chadli may perhaps suggest otherwise. The Belgian will give Spurs plenty pace and threat on the left and should ensure Bale retains the role in “the hole” which helped harvest an average 7.2 points per game last term, enabling Villas-Boas to hand his star man the freedom to wreak havoc on top-flight backlines from a central role once again.

    What is Moyes doing: http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/premier-league-pique-united-wasting-time-fabregas-bid-064044521.html

He seems to have no idea how big signings work in the transfer market. Maybe he should focus on Pre-season instead of this Cesc nonsense.

      He's playing the game.

I heard today that Cesc was growing frustrated that Barca are still talking (even though they've said he's not for sale) and is therefore prepared to go. I don't buy it.

The new Barca manager seems like a Messi signing. I don't see why he would come in an sell Cesc, or if he would even have decision making power like that.

Feels like Moyes would have a better chance signing Bale + Baines before signing Cesc.

Maybe you're right though; there's probably some part of the story that's missing. There must be something Cesc has said or done that's making this deal seem possible from ManU's side.

Howdo you suggest he should approach it? He has done as anyother manager would, put money on the table to test the water. Preseason becomes worthless unless he can furnish the side with some quality additions.

I think he'd have a better shout signing Bale or Cazorla or another good midfielder. Hard to imagine that some of the mids that City and Chelsea have already signed, would not have considered going to ManU instead.

As a United fan I am scared about what's happening. Was at first optimistic about Moyes and still am, but I'm dreading the transfer window ending as we could end up with no Rooney and no big name replacement.

Why in the world would you p!ss Rooney off!? He's not past his best at all, he had a stronger season than Aguero last season imo and nobody seems to doubt Aguero's class. In fact even Suarez had a weak season in the season before last (he showed that with his step up in performance in the season that just passed). Lewo isn't leaving BD, Cavani was out of our price range, so was Falcao. Higuain is a step down from Rooney. Suarez and United are a no no. So how the hell do you justify calling him a "back up" player without any targetable replacements in the market?

Moyes is NOT SAF in the sense that SAF sold Ronaldo for a huge £80m and replaced him more or less with Valencia in a successful manner (I doubted that transfer at the time and thought it was a joke). He can't afford to sell Rooney to Chelsea this season, he just can't.

I do have to say that at least to their credit I am relatively pleased about their ambition aside from Rooney. Chasing Cesc and Bale are big deals (pretty sure I read on SS they bid £60m for Bale). I just think that 3 bids is a bit too much unless we are definitely getting him, and it doesn't seem that way. Also, we were way to slow off the mark with Thiago, such a great talent and yet we sat back and let Pep announce his interest. I believe we lost Thiago as we were too focused on Fab, if that's the truth then I'll be hugely disappointed.

Obviously nothing compares to the feeling of watching your team winning the CL.

But this would be in that sort of ball park in terms of the emotion I'd feel if we sign him. I really do think he'll be one of the very best in the world. I also am convinced he will be the man to provide at least one champions league trophy to us (as in we couldn't have done it with the wingers we currently have).

You should be Fergie probably managed to grab at least 5-10 points per year with his knowledge and harrasment of ref's/managers/players. Doubt of Moyes will be able to compete. Be an interesting league this year I can see the top changing positions every week.

          I think that's a bit much. You're just playing on a stereotype.

Moyes' challenge is to have United push through and get the 1-0 wins when our team is struggling.

But yes it will be interesting. Just wish Arsenal would make some big signings and join us in a title race.

I think Moyes is being a bit brave doing all this publicly. Saying Barca have rejected 2 bids for Fabregas and we're going back for a 3rd is very risky.
Rooney will only be allowed to go if Utd get a "big name" signing.
Bale/ Ronaldo/ Fabregas etc. will NOT be coming to United.
        A. English football is not the draw it once was
        B. SAF is no longer there (Even Zaha has said he signed for SAF- not Moyes)
        C. UK taxes on footballers are as high as they've ever been and top players can get the media exposure elsewhere.

Exception to this is Bale as he is already in England. It may happen in the future but I think players will be taking a step back for a year to how it goes.

My opinion- Sell Rooney and build a team around Kagawa & RVP. More than enough quality at that club to win the league. Champs league currently way out of reach.

A quick statement from Cesc would kill this story off and he knows it. Until he rules it out you have to assume there is something in it - maybe he wants a pay rise or a commitment from the club that he will play more, rather than a move, but his silence speaks volumes.

Thing is we should have heard reports by now that some journalist asked him and he smiled/ignored him/looked down or w/e, however tenuous. It feels like nobody has actually cornered Fab with these questions and he's not exactly going to annoy the incoming manager by saying "I want to leave" (like Suarez) in case the club hold firm and keep him.

Other than his price, and the fact that 3-5-2 was the way to go last season. I would feel more comfortable starting the season with him though... basically if you pick him it's fool-proof, if you go without him you will have to make the right picks elsewhere... it's a gamble!

I probably will change my mind but I've lost nothing now anyway. I'm sure on Mirallas to a degree but GW1 looks tricky. Aguero is too pricey for me to pair with RvP and I'd trust a City striker more than Silva.

I still would like Berba as i still firmly feel he's an absolute steal at the price, but he also 2 away games in the first 3, with Arsenal stuck in between

Whilst you may be right, keeper rotations carry great risk, due the random events of benched away CS whilst the home keeper concedes. If you get the rotation spot on great. Migs kept 11 CS in a very poor Sunderland side and made plenty of saves. Pool kept 16 CS last season and I'd expect the same if not better this time out (though the save count will likely decrease). Migs got 140 points last time out. I'd say 150 is a ball-park minimum expectation given Pool's opening first half of the season

Got lost on the previous page.

    Boruc - Davis
    Coleman - Mertesacker - Collins - Parr - Chester
    Hazard - [Arteta] - Snodgrass - Bale - Thomas
    Lambert - [RVP] - Berbatov

    A) Arteta selected by 9% [131 ts] / RVP selected by 36.1% [262 ts]

    B) Cazorla selected by 9.7% [205 ts] / Aguero selected by 11.2% [121 ts (mostly due to injuries)]

Mind info Lambert not being Soton player comes Aug 17.

    RVP -> Aguero
    Arteta -> Walcott
Lambert -> 8m forward [Bony perhaps?]

    Any suggestions?

Are those with RVP and Bale very certain it is the right approach to have? I know someone posted a load of stats showing why it is a positive, but those stats don't take into account of injury and stuff.

Let's say for example that RVP picks up an injury, red card or starts hitting a slump of form.

This means you have sacrificed either midfield and/or defence for one player up front. There are no easy replacements for a 14mil striker and in order to balance the team back out it would require at least 2-3 FTs. Personally I think the best strategy is to space the cash out with a few heavy hitters. I personally think starting with RVP and Bale could be playing with fire since we have no real insight as to how Moyes will impact with a title-winning team (on top of United's baptism by fire).

I would be more inclined to spread the risk to someone like Valencia or Kagawa (particularly the latter) which means even if Van Persie is scoring, one of these two are most likely to be assisting and will pick up points.

I reckon the same motto "No one player is bigger than the club" can be applied to a Fantasy football team.

I haven't paid any attention to the facts and figures but one fact is RVP will be challenging for that golden boot, he's a points machine, fixture-proof, main-man in the defending champions' attack & a captain option almost every week.

      It's a no-brainer.

I'm not questioning his ability, but rather trying to work out whether his price and points return outweigh the sacrifice needed in midfield to get him in (which I don't think it is).

I could have RVP and a mediocre midfield, or I could have let's say Sturridge and work and proven players like Silva, Michu, Hazard and so on

Disagree, defending champions under SAF, a massive difference, Utd unless they get some quality in midfield in a creative sense, could well struggle. Rooney at Chelsea with the quality of attacking mids they poccess could go to town.

Mate he just needs to survive a couple of games before Suarez arrives as a replacement.

The theory of Kags+Valencia is interesting. But you're not taking into account (C) choices. I have Bale+Walcott+RVP and I'll captain him 5 out of the first 10 fixtures. I think that's a strong amount given he should perform in all those "easier" fixtures.

        My front 8 is:

        Bale,Walcott,Snoddy, Kaca/Tonev rotation

        RVP, Negredo, Bent

I've seen plenty have no RVP and have Thomas. THOMAS!? You spent the money you saved on RVP on defence!? I'll be captaining him and you can't exactly captain a "really good value defender" like Mert.

My defence is not uber btw, it's quite strong.

My rotation is fine since I have more depth in my squad than people using Thomas and the awful Anelka.

Mine is: Bale, Walcott, Silva, Hazard

You talk about injury yet if Hazard gets injured you don't have any viable replacements and you can't even bench him for a week since Thomas is your 5th man. You have similiar issues as I do having RVP.

Also, do you not realise that I spent £2.5m more than you when comparing our second and third strikers? I could just downgrade Negredo to Berba and Bent to Rod and get Silva in to kind of copy your midfield EVEN though I have RVP over sturridge? I don't care for Hazard because he has United & Blank in first 3 games and in your third week you may be playing Thomas whilst all my players are read to score attacking points.

Safe in what way? I'm taking a gamble BUT I get to captain RVP whereas you may captain Sturridge a few times. We all know who's a better captain pick when it comes to RVP vs Sturridge/Hazard/Silva (I have Bale & Walcott remember).

I can' t even speak to you, you comparing Bent to Anelka (at his age and FORM) is a complete and utter joke.

Also if you're silly enough to expect me to have him as a Villa player you should just go away (to put it mildly). I'm obviously counting on a move away for him to another PL team. Even if that doesn't happen my £0.5m ITB is enough to get Kone or RVW.

        See above

        RVP + 4.5 mid = 18.5mil

        Sturridge + Silva/Hazard = 18.0-8.5mil

Now let's say RVP hits 200+ points and the cheapy mid gets 60-70, thats about 270.

Sturridge should easily get 100+ maybe nearer to 150 and Silva could easily get 160-170 points for his consistency. That's already beating the former by 50-60 points and allows for easy swaps when form changes, etc.

The only problem is (c) options but I just play the fixtures and form anyway

I've seen people argue that Lambert's the lone striker up top, plays further forward, blah blah, so is worth the extra 1.5 over J-Rod

If you saw SOT play towards the end of last season, like i did, you would realize thats not the case.
Although in theory J-Rod's a winger, the tactic their new manager applied often saw Jay spend a large amount of time furthest forward on the pitch.

    ------Lambert-------
    RW-------------J-Rod

Lambert would often drop deep, which allowed Rodriguez to make runs towards the inside, creating this sort of a formation^^. The other winger, would normally stay wide.

One thing which Lambo does have over him, however, is set pieces. This would not even be an argument otherwise

Struggling to nail down my 4th mid at the moment: Lots of choice around the 7.0 mark. So who do you rate for potential returns from the following - FYI I'm planning to WC early.

A: Ben Arfa [had him last season - was a bit of a headache, still seems like so much value]
B: Nolan [great set of fixtures to start with - does carroll make that much of a difference on his returns?]
C: Snodgrass [everyone seems to be a fan - I am not so sure]
D: Arteta [think that the new system will favor him - already have Wally so probably overkill]
E: Paulihno [a bit of a gamble? obvs have bale]
F: Giaccherini [i don't see sunderland in any rmt's - he seems like could be a real dark horse]
    G: Other

Also - not keen on downgrading elsewhere to get in Mirrallas - plus thinking he's slightly overrated at the moment.

    Cheers

Right, based on a user request from Andy Carroll's Ponytail...

    (see here http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2013/07/23/fantasy-premier-league-player-list-analysis-premium-midfielders/?hc_page=7#hc_comment_5089831)

...I'll have a crack at a Spurs summation.

GKs: Big fan of Brad, was sceptical that we needed Hugo but was pretty impressed by him last season. Pulled off some smart saves but, more importantly, made very few clangers and looked very pro-active in his keeping. Hugo will play Prem games, with Brad coming in for some cup starts, barring obvious injuries.

DEFs: Walker has RB sown up but cover comes from Kaboul, Naughton and more this season, from a young, economical (geddit?) Adam Smith. Been on loan, may go again but I see him getting first team gfames across cups, odd starts in league. Naughton is useful due to both RB/LB cover, but not sure he's up to top Prem standard.

LB is firmly in BAE's hands but AVB doesn't seem to like him, lord knows why, been consistently good for Spurs. Poss comp fro Rose but I don't think Danny is good enough, personally for many starts. Don't rule out new LB, but I firmly expect BAE to start season and stay.

4 strong options at CB, Verty obvious and classy, but Kaboul coming back is a huge bonus – fast, strong, massive (6'5'' I believe). My starter next to Verty but Daws did really well last season and would seem to be in position. Caulker will again provide vaulable back-up to all of these 3.

MIDs: Paulinho acq means central 3 of him, Sandro and Dembele. Sandro return massive boost for team, excellent work rate, decent positional sense, even odd goal threat. I'd expect Dembele to play most advanced, Pauly seems to have the legs to cover enormous ground so best suited to both def and att surges. Personlaly, I've liked Jake for past couple of years, neat tidy passer, decent tackler and takes responsibility, but AVB seems not so keen judging by lack of use last season when Parker was struggling and Sandro was out. Was quite shocked tat he preferred Thudd, myself. Young Carroll will get more games this season, prob not starts in league, more cups, but he's got plenty of potential in a Dembele-pass-keep ball kind of way. Then there's Siggy, Dempsey (may get sold) for cover.

FORs: AVB wants fluid front 3 which can inter-change throughout games, pulling markers out of position, a tactic that will play to Bale's increasing strengths (I expect him to go around 250 FPL pts again this season, probably +). Ironically, this formation really suits Ade who is mobile enough and savvy enough to pull out into the channels to receive passes or to pull defs about. He could have a good season if his head's right and he gets games.

Lennon can bea match-winner but is very righ-sided. Both AVB and 'Arry tried switching him and it never really worked, he is most effective isolating an FB and attacking outside for a cross/cutback, runs infield often see him lose his way, and the ball. This is why Spurs fans (me and thiose I know anyway) have been crying out for extra quick, wide cover for 3 years or more. Now we seem close to getting Chadli, fast and, vitally, can play either side (fitting in to AVB's fluid 3!). Not seen anything of him but if what I've read is right, will be a very useful addition, poss alt to Bale for att mid.

Lots of Soldado talk but I'll believe it when I see it. Villa poss acq got me excited in a way Soldado does not. Again, not watched him loads but he doesn't look quick and seems a penalty box poacher, not really what Spurs need, although would expect him to be good with ball at feet. We'll see, Defoe will be useful back-up off bench as his pros/cons demand.

In summary, Lloris too pricey for me, best FPL def option is Younes if he gets the nod, and if you're considering going Bale-less, Pauly/Chadli are worth a look for att mid. Ade could prove a gem at £8m, if a new expensive striker is not signed.

Usual caveats (nothing guaranteed) but I would expect the following line-up for CPL GW1 barring injuries/new signings etc...

    Lloris

    Walker Kaboul/Daws Verty BAE

    Sandro Dembele Pauly

Bloody Adam Smith and his 'invisible hand'!

I'm tipping Dawson & Kaboul with Verty shifted to LB, but we'll see how the season pans out.

Is that an album cover for Silverchair as your grav as well?

great post. i asked this yesterday but would appreciate your thoughts - do you think the Spurs defence will get more clean sheets this year? Very low shots conceded last year, but didn't translate into cleanies.

Ghost Ship, RE Spurs CS potential. I seldom cont on CS's, we've not really looked water-tight at the back for donkey's years, which is why I usually avoid TOT defs. Having written this, they improved a lot after a very sloppy start to last season, and that Mid 3 (Sandro/Dembele/Pauly) will make it really tough for oppo att'ers to get into shooting positions.

In short, could see double digit CS for Spurs this season but would caution against high-teens expectations - but then again, perhaps I'm just being a cynical Spur! 🙂

In terms of value, Nolan. In terms of new player, uhm... Bony, after they get over the first few fixtures and he gets firing.

I predict that there won't be one.

Pozuelo will be this season's Sterling/Puncheon
Giroud will be this season's Suarez

Not sure anyone will get close, in terms of sheer value and impact. 18 goals is incredible for a first season really.

I've got a sneaky feeling Deulofeu might do well in an "under-priced and little known' kind of way.

I've seen a few people looking at rotating two cheap attackers as a way to save funds. The most popular seems to be some sort of CRY/Hull pairing since they rotate perfectly (I think) home/away and have some good budget options eg Thomas/Gayle and Koren/Graham. So I thought I'd look at how much better this is likely to do than just playing one cheapie week in week out.

To do this I've looked at how many more goals are scored at home compared to away with the assumption that individual players are equally likely to be involved in any of the teams goals. For teams in the bottom half of the table, 229/427 goals were scored at home which is 53.6%. This means over the course of a season a home away rotation will pick up about 7% more attacking returns than simply playing one. Considering cheap options are unlikely to pick up much (if any) more than 10 goals/assists, I would say this suggests you're almost as likely to leave points on your bench as you are to have them in your team. Obviously by playing the fixtures you could improve these odds a bit but probably not by much. If this is the price you pay to get both RVP and Bale in your team it might be worth it, but don't expect the rotation to perform much better than playing one cheapie every week.

Hopefully this is helpful. I personally think that upgrading a 5mil to a 6.5 mil or so could be one of the best way to spend your money. Does anyone else have any thoughts on the cheap attacker rotation?

Good topic. I agree completely that one shouldn't look blindly at home/away rotations (especially for attacking returns, but also for CS potential), but more on the defensive resolve of the team they are facing. Think of Chelsea away with Mourinho's counter-attacking.

For clean sheets its 58% vs 42% (give or take a few each season) for H/A. A little bit more.

Thanks, I was just trying to find that stat. Again it's not a huge difference, but probably just about enough to make a rotation useful

    Here's mine:

    Migs / Given

    Toure / Nasty / Collins / Turner / Shaw

    Bale / Hazard / Walcott / Nani(or Valencia or young) / Mirlallas

    Sturridge / JRod / Anelka

For me, there seems to be enough cheap striking options to have less money spent there, and escape plan of 2 transfers 1 mid n one fw I can deal.

City/Pool defence will be decent, Southampton/Norwich/West Ham will be decent at times.

Bale/Hazard/Walcott should be in everyones teams

I like Mirlallas and one of those Man U mids is gonna pick up massively.

Can do Nani>Kags/Schurlle if needs be and Anelka>Gayle

    Toure>Coleman

Seems unlikely if they play 343/523 like he did at Wigan.

If they play 433/4231 he could play in a more attacking role as the furthest forward of the CM's.

Why are all the English newspapers reporting what the Spanish press says, Marca is not that reliable.
