With leagues across the Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Sky Sports and Sun Dream Team games as well as a link up with PlayON there is plenty of opportunity for our community to get involved across a wide range of competitions.  In our latest Fantasy Football Scout round up, we profile this week’s league leaders.

Fantasy Premier League

A Gameweek 2 score of 55 was enough for Stumanchu to retain top spot in our  Fantasy Premier League (FPL) mini-league. He now has 186 points and climbs to third place overall thanks to his captaincy of Roberto Soldado and eight point hauls from Olivier Giroud and Kolo Toure. Tang Window, who captained Edin Dzeko, takes second place and sits four points behind our leader, while James Martin, who is in third place on 177 points, was another to captain Dzeko last week; he also had Tottenham’s Kyle Walker amongst his other top performers. The code to join our FPL league, which is top of the league of leagues, is 1580-1106.

Ross Gillard, who scored 66 points this week,  is now sitting top of our Fantasy Football Scout Members league in the FPL game. He has a total score of 175 and sits in 130 place overall, with his decision to captain Giroud proving decisive. Sam Gillespie is equal on points with Ross, but lies in second after taking a points hit in Gameweek 2. Third placed James Floyd is close behind on 172 points – James’s leftfield selection of Sunderland’s Emmanuele Giaccherini, who accrued 9 points, proved a smart move.

Last week’s Fantasy Football Scout Contributors and Moderators league leader Mark was among those left disappointed by Robin Van Persie. His resolute allegiance to the Dutchman saw him slump to fifth, with last year’s Contributors league victor and no-RVP advocate Andy moving to joint first alongside Green Windmill. Torres Magic hangs on to his third place with a total score of 144, although Granville is hot on his heels with a score of 139.

Sky Sports Fantasy Football

With a total points haul of 269 Josie O’Neil moves from second to first in our Fantasy Football Scout league in the Sky Sports Fantasy Football game. Mary Humberstone moves from third to second with a score of 264 and last week’s league leader Leanne Dean falls to joint third with Nick Whitrid on 260 points. Leanne’s decision to field exclusively Chelsea and Aston Villa players is set to see her either slip further or force her to make several transfers this week. As with last week, we continue to top Sky’s league of leagues.

The winner of our Sky league wins £1,000. To join, visit Sky Sports Fantasy Football and key in League Name: FFScout, League Code: 8000112.

The Sun Dream Team

Heavy investment in Arsenal and Tottenham helped Lee Walpole secure first place in our Sun Dream Team league. He has nine players from the North London rivals, with Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado’s 28 points  proving vital to his  points tally of 196. Charles Mouzon, who at one point last season was number one in the FPL game, is in second with 188 points thanks to Daniel Sturridge’s 34 points and similar investment in Tottenham’s assets. In third lies Tim Mongiat on 187 points. Tim’s star players include Soldado and Arsenal’s Kieron Gibbs. To join visit  The Sun Dream Team, league name: Fantasy Football Scout, password: ReWOZhn1T1 and PIN: 8061654.

PlayOn £2 Game

In our exclusive Fantasy Football Scout PlayON £2 Game Jamie Boyd claimed first place and winnings of £87 thanks to points hauls from Sturridge, David Silva, Charlie Adam and Ryan Shawcross. Andrew Foskett grabbed second place and winnings of £58, and third-placed Karl Pickard enjoys £34.51 haul. In case you missed them, our PlayON player picks for this weekend can be found right here.

Anyone else hate captaining a player from the first game of the weekend because a failure then ruins the remainder of the games?

I'm uncomfortable with the idea, but deep down, I know that it's silly to let something so pointless sway your decision.

This was how the forum was last year when Man C were about to play a home match against reading.
Reading had been beaten 8 0 the previous week . Massive hots were taken to bring in Aguero and Tevez

Capt Aguero ended up with one point that day.

Barry scored in injury time and they won 1 0

Silva again , swapped it four times already. . One of my weaknesses was always poor capt picks , so i fixed it by nearly always captaining the top of the poll. Silva further ahead than i expected so will go with the flow

maybe you should go against the flow, as going with the flow alot of the time doesn't necessarily mean a good gw ranking.

If the against the flow pick works. well

I'm with you! Had Silva first. Then Wally and now Silva again. Something about Tottenhams tight defence made do it again. Hull is not that bad either though. They had a good season opener against Chelsea and kept Norwich out of goals with ten men for over 60 mins.

Going forward considering the following as a somewhat 'steady eddies' conservative template until January:

Ruddy - Boruc (rotation option until Jan)

Terry (Zabaleta/Vidic), Toure (£5m), Collins - Ward & Chester (rotating spares)

Walcott (Hazard/Silva), Lampard, Mirallas (Paulinho/£7m), Nolan - Kim (fairly nailed on attacking sub)

    Van Persie, Soldado (Benteke/Sturride/Dzeko/Negredo), Bent

The aim would be to focus transfers on the players in brackets & try to avoid a wildcard. Equally holding faith with experienced premier league players in the hope the will deliver over course & distance until January. Will obviously all go to pot but was wondering thoughts as a potential template?

not imo. plus how many other strikers are going to potentially get 20+. sturridge, soldado, benteke, giroud all capable. i wouldn't sacrifice a striker slot for someone who would do extremely well to get double figures. cheaper midfield will be better.

Mingolet & 4.0m is too bold for my tastes as strange as that statement may seem. Prefer Toure if fit and in the team, always like two cheap keepers, one always comes to the fore in the end a la hart, foster, sorensen, vorm, krul, bego, jaas etc. Certainly tempted to upgrade Bent but still waiting for that golden 5-6m mid to announce himself (Ross Barkley, hmm. Not for me, yet).

This is precisely the reason for why wildcarding over the impending int'l break seems so misguided. All of the top teams outside of Arsenal and Liverpool don't have a clue what their best team is, and wildcarding now locks you into a situation which is more fluid than it has been in years... Wildcarding now means you're making the king of all punts and which dictates the rest of your season.

It does seem more unsettled than usual this season.

There are still so many question marks. The midfield situation , the bonus situation , so many new players and more competitive squads.
If wildcard next week dont feel would be any the wiser as to who want long term

I'm currently playing safe on Silva or considering Walcott. On the off chance we hear Dzeko starts before the deadline though then I'm switching back to him

    Silva vs Walcott

    1) Anytime Goal Scorer odds
    Silva 2.20
    Wally 2.87

    2) Clean Sheet odds (as midfielder, you get 2pt for CS)
    MCI 1.66
    ARS 3.10
    TOT 4.33

    3) Player Stats
    Shots: 6 vs 6
Penalty area touches: 10 vs 18
    Chance created: 6 vs 7
    Crosses: 12 vs 15

    4) Team stats
    Shots: 34 vs 36
Shots in the box 29 vs 21
    Big chance: 5 vs 6

Bookies odds suggest Wally will produce more FPL points due to higher scoring odds and better clean sheet odds.

Stats are pretty similar, although Wally looks slightly more dangerous

Last seasons Goals/Assists is a big enough reason for me to captain Walcott over Silva.

not a betting man and i could be well off here but isnt 2.2 better than 2.87 for goals? IE they'd pay out more on a walcott goal as they see it less likely?

and City are therefore almost twice as likely to get the clean sheet?

I think when it comes to captaincy and ko time. I think it comes down to looking at your side and thinking "right, he's the man to score big or guarantee me something" irrelevant of time, but when you're agonising and can't call it, I think you may as well go for the option with the latter kick off...
