With another seven days left until the deadline for Gameweek 4, there’s plenty time to ponder the numbers in our Members section. While some Fantasy managers still contemplate pressing the wildcard button, we take a look at some of the most notable attacking statistics on offer so far – in the first in a series of three articles, we begin with the defenders.

Open ControlsFavorite character in any book. Ever...
Jaime Lannister for me.Open ControlsMajor Major Major
Open ControlsI really must read Catch 22
Open Controls
It seems like I'm more a LOTR fan than you are. But I will go with Aragon - so cool, and classy.
Jaime Lannister is a close second....Tyrion though is much better in the show, than in the book. 🙂Open ControlsI love LOTR beyond the comprehension of many, but I do think ASOIAF is streets ahead in terms of realism - Although none of it would have been possible without the genius of Tolkein.
The LOTR books were great, I just don't think any of the characters even came close to some of the minor POV characters in ASOIAF.Open Controls
He's not even the best Lannister.
Open ControlsTyrion? I do love Tyrion. Jaime shades it for me though.
Open Controls
Don Vito Carleone
Open ControlsForgot about that book, another good one.
Haven't read as much Dickens as I'd like, though.Open Controls

Federer's whole career should have an asterisk, he had no competition during his run. All the greats had just retired when Federer came into the game, the first time he started playing some challengers (Nadal) he folded like a lawn chair/
Open ControlsNonsense.
Open ControlsHahaha i hope you are joking, otherwise your ignorance is quite shocking
Open ControlsHe had a legendary run, but I question the field he was competing with. Nadal has done well vs him, so has Djokovic. Those two were the best players he played.
Open ControlsAdmittedly, he was past his prime while they were approaching and in theirs.
An impossible question though, I thinkOpen Controls
Being dominant doesnt mean you had no competition.
Same could be said about Jordan and SchumaherOpen ControlsJordan and Schumacher are in a totally different class than Federer, they both had strong competition.
Open Controlslike who? please tell me who was Schumaher competition while he was at Ferrari? Hakkinen? or maybe Raikonen with his non stop blowing engine?
THis is a very dumb argument. Another example is Messi, he broke Mullers record playing against Spanish sides that were letting him pass easily and now we call them the best in the world.
Being the best makes you competition look bad and makes your wins look seamless.
Federer has passed his prime, but Schumacher even get a podium when he came back?Open ControlsGood points
Open Controls
Fair play Stan. Cracking effort.
Open ControlsGlen Johnson is an FPL mystery.
Open ControlsHaha did you hear Wawrinka interview live? Nole is 'f--ing strong'

Hmmmm...The Shawshank RedemptionOpen ControlsHoly Moly, how the hell do you decide this winner?
I'll stick with Shawshank purely for the fellgood factor it created and not getting an Oscar nomination.Open ControlsSr
Open ControlsDisappointing final for me.
Godfather wins.Open ControlsShawshank
Open ControlsLooking back at the nominations, no one got both of them in their top 3 😯

Open Controls3 sets to 2 for Lord of the Rings, I think.......
Open ControlsI hadn't considered that option really, but thanks for the input Jafooli.
Open Controls
I think Okore came in as injury cover (for Clark?)
Luna should be.Open ControlsThanks guys, I suppose I could wait until after the City game to decide.
Open ControlsWhy would you want a villa defender anyway? If it's to save money you clearly need to spent more to get a half decent player.
Open ControlsThey have had very tough games and let in very little. When the fixtures inprove they look to me to be a really good potential.
Open Controls
I did. Not being a member however, it didn't take me long.

Lets not criticize Federer
C'mon guys, he's past his prime
The guy's a legend but he really needs to retire atleast for the sake of people who worship him as a Tennis God (including me)Open ControlsUCL team:
Lopez Courtois
Ivanovic Mangala Fuchs Nuytinck Maxwell
Mkhitaryan Isco Griezmann Pogba Bernard
Messi Balotelli Cavani
Have I missed any of the massive bargains?Open Controls5x0 Basil--Pato...aussies ready to throw in the towel
Open ControlsFederer clearly overrated
Here is the thing, you could argue that he was so good, no one ever got the chance to win anything
But the fact the he was playing different guys every other grandslam says a lot of consistency of players during his era.
Baghdatis,Hewitt( coming from an OZ), Gonzales, Roddick, finalists during his era, all disappeared from the big stage as soon as Nadal came off age(2008), and Novak and Murray emerged.
Since his US open victory in '07 Roger's won only 5 majors.Open ControlsReally hoping Sturridge is fit for Monday. Even if he is 75% I think BR will risk him.
Open ControlsJust over 6.5 days to go...
Open ControlsWildcard team evaluation...
I am seeking input about my post-wildcard team. I swore I wouldn't WC so early this year, but, with some players dropping and some coveted players rising, I was looking at a 0.3 to 0.5 gap occurring that would have left me with little wiggle room. Here is my team before the WC:
Szczesny/Harper (4.0 throw-away)
Zabaleta/Reid/Coleman/Touré/Chester
Coutinho/Yaya Touré/Walcott/Mirallas/Grandin
Aspas/Soldado/Benteke
Not a bad set up, but Grandin hasn't played and dropped in price, plus Mirallas looked like he was going to drop, and had yet to show me anything, K. Touré is injured, and the addition of Sakho makes me wonder about Touré's locked in status. Giroud looked too tempting to pass up especially with the addition of Özil. Giroud was also set to go up in price, and I didn't have much breathing room to pick him up. So it was either take a big hit, or play the WC. I chose the latter and hope I can scrape up enough willpower to avoid taking hits excessive this year. I also WC'ed because in the past I didn't take a chance with new transfers, both pre-season and after the close of the transfer window, so I thought I'd roll the dice this year so I wouldn't get burned. Here's what I came up with so far:
Szczesny/Harper (4.0 throw-away)
Zabaleta/Collins (new)/Coleman/Sakho (new)/Chester
Coutinho/Yaya Touré/Walcott/Arnautovic (new)/Ward-Prowse (new) (was also considering Amalfitano)
Giroud (new)/Soldado/Benteke
This lineup gets a few more points in RMT, and leaves me with 0.8 in cap space. Feel free to comment, rage, etc...Open ControlsChelsea scares me; who knows who will play from week to week. I'm waiting to hear Sturridge's injury status..
Open Controls
Punts yes or no?
Nani and Erikson
Or
Walcott and BradyOpen ControlsProbably Theo and Brady.
1 of those for a punt but not both.Open Controls

There are other ways to feel miserable.Open ControlsRMT 4-4-2
Gk thriller - Sixth sense (silence of the lambs)
Defensive comedy - annie hall, princess bride (vc) Marx brothers a day in the races, top secret (south park the movie)
Midfield action - fight club, pulp fiction, goodfellas, usual suspects (die hard)
Forward drama - the shaw shank redemption (c) Casablanca (shindlers list)
Most fun movies ever that will not make any list but are best value for time spent:
Dusk till dawn, the last boyscout, life of BrianOpen ControlsDamn forgot to mention - best movie of all time , the godfather, is the coach.
Open ControlsNo creativity in midpark. Needs a Kubrik or 70s Bowie flick to add some flair to proceedings.
Open ControlsI recorded Labyrinth earlier today, looking forward to that later... though Life of Brian is now on my radar too
