As Tottenham gear up for an eye-catching run of fixtures, many Fantasy managers are lining up a route into Andre Villas-Boas’ attacking options. With Roberto Soldado failing to justify a place in our three-man frontlines, attentions have turned to midfield and, despite the re-emergence of Gylfi Sigurdsson in the last few weeks, doubts over his long-term starting role has seen our attentions focus on a couple of the club’s summer signings.

Paulinho and Christian Eriksen have both been subject to much debate on the site this week, with investment rising across the Fantasy games. In this next article for members, we cast an eye over their respective displays for the north London club and also analyse the Brazilian’s performances with and without the former Ajax man, in order to ascertain just what effect – if any – Eriksen has had on his fellow new boy.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Too true. I barely visited this forum at all last season let alone concerned myself with stats & analysis & still finished in the top 5k.

I'm sure there's alot of useful info but I prefer to avoid it cos I'm an indecisive person & all the stats & analysis will do is give me even more things to ponder.

they don't, they give me more to ponder, more to think about therefore taking up more of my time. i use my eyes, then go for it. the thing i've noticed about this fourm is there's so much debate, so much speculation, so many sheep & bandwagons that you find youreslf relying on other people to make your decisions instead of going with your gut.

Collins -> Walker as a long term move for a hit, no problem right! i fear taking a hit for Terry who cud be rested as he played in both EPL & UCL, that wud be very damaging to my already shite rank. Fair enough !

yeah, i did hv a nice look over those fixtures but i can handle that by rotating for the tough fix with prob a Stoke def. Terry was actually the first i thought abt, but i cannot take even an inch of risk, as am already laaging pretty heavily in my MLs.

I've seen some talk about Amalfitano and I know he has scored two goals but are people not worried about the fact that across is his career he has only scored 16 goals in 294 games before the start of this season. Isn't this just a major blip

Could be. Or could be a case of Clarke knowing how to best use him in his system. The jury is still out but Clarke himself and a couple of WBA players have come out and said how impressive he's been in training since he joined.

He's on corners and free kicks too, so I can see the appeal there at 5.0.

I have a few tables and he's always on or around the top for threat...Speaking of which...This is table shows ICT threat for the previous two GW's in descending order including chances created and shots....reads well...(much the same as ITWT table)...One or two surprises in it though...http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/4064/

I hope so. I am really keeping faith with Spurs attack over these fixtures. Everything points to plenty of points but it just hasn't clicked yet. I am in with both Soldado and Eriksen. Just need the promise to turn into points and they will be key differentials for me.

I wouldn't worry too much...I have other tables which point towards Eriksen being a great pick. I opred for Paulinho because he's been right up there since the start of the season and is a mill cheaper...So basically i've opted for Paulinho/Walcott over Eriksen and a cheaper mid..could easily turn out that b is the better option overall.

Ot depends what you want from him. He runs down the line and crosses the ball. Like a faster version of Valencia. City got him as an option to stretch the play when they want more width and he provides that. If you expect much else from him you will be disappointed.

We both wrote at the same time, you comparing him to Valencia was probably a bit more fair than my comparison.

Exactly this, if the team manages to take advantage of his pace he could be explosive, not a super-player of course but we all know what Valencia can do on a good day!

Set-pieces is a big factor for me. Paulinho has great stats but his ability to convert those stats into goals/assists is still questionable. He will get points but I still feel Eriksen is the better option.

      Question:
How come Eriksen higher than Paulinho in the watchlist if the scouts following the stats that indicate Paulinho > Eriksen (not a member but it's pretty obvious from the comments above..)

We're not saying Eriksen should be forgotten - there's a good bet he'll be in Picks today. We're saying, don't ignore the Paulinho option and consider the gap between them may not be that wide in Fantasy output terms.

Maybe, but is it in the same way that Modric was a much better player than someone like Dempsey? I don't doubt that Eriksen is a fantastic player, oozing class and creativity but is he set to be the provider and link man between attack and midfield, leaving runners like Sigurdsson and Paulinho to provide the goals? I think the gap between them in Fantasy terms could be closer than we first think. I'm saying this as an Eriksen owner, too.

i rather compare Erikssen with VDV....it's more realistic Mark

both play role in the hole and both are set pieces master

while Modric is more of Paulinho type but wih far less shots

I agree Erikson is leagues better. The only thing paulinho is doing better than Erikson is making some penetrating runs then his usual off target shot

I disagree, it's the old trap of comparing players who have differant roles within a midfield. A bit like comparing Lampard to Mata.

Think I've decided to save the FT this week, unless anyone can come up with an amazing revelation for this team?

    Mignolet
    Zab - Baines - Shaw
    Moses - Arnautovic - Michu - Ramsey
    Rooney - Suarez (c) - Giroud

    (McGregor, Amalfitano, Wilson, Rangel)

    Mignolet
    Dawson - Vidic - Turner (Wisdom,Chester)
    Michu - Özil - Fer - Brady (Ward-Prowse)
    Rooney - Suárez - Soldado

Which tube/ 2 tubes shoud i take out 1st? 2.3mil in the bank

    A) Wisdom
    B) Chester
    C) Brady
    D) Ward-Prowse
    E) Fer

Thinking Wisdom & Fer -> Clyne & Eriksen
    or WP & Wisdom -> Clyne/Jenkinson & Ramsey
