We reveal the results of the First Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup VIII, sponsored by Paddy Power, this evening. Defending champion Wild Rover is safely into the next round after edging past frankm8 by 82 points to 78 to keep his chances of reclaiming the silverware alive, whilst a quintet of former winners also make the draw – Jonty, Goonerdave, donnellyc, sleepingmaster and MCH all still harbour hopes of picking up the trophy for a second time.

The Gameweek 12 match-ups brought the first major cup shock, as TitusShambles, the top-ranked manager, was sent tumbling out by Germanphil, who looks a giant-killer to avoid in the next round. Some of our new moderators such as Greenwindmill, Applebonkers, Ryan and Spencer all sailed into the next round.

Amongst the site regulars, the likes of Shipsontrev, The Stock, Christina, The 3rdTurd, Daniel, Eunuch Jelly, superzlatan, Butters, The Shadow, Tommy Tynan’s Left Shinpad, Isacki and Pepin have also progressed.

A special mention goes to Hamp, who produced 98 points in the first round – the highest haul of any manager. He had captain Sergio Aguero, Luis Suarez, Romelu Lukaku, Oscar, Philippe Coutinho and Per Mertesacker amongst his main protagonists. King of Burgers also made it through- he was the lowest-scoring winner, having amassed 55 points.

Click here for a full rundown of the First Round ties – we’ll be rolling out Round Two over the next day or so.

In regards Oscar, do you really contemplate getting rid cause he may be benched this weekend..? If the tables were turned would you dump Hazard..?

For me, you Hoover up the points having both players and accept they may not always get 90 mins.

If you care about your rank, surely you have to make sure you're getting those double figure hauls nearly every week.
I couldn't fathom not bringing them in this week, regardless of the amount of hits, if I didn't already have them.

    Maybe Walker > Mertesacker

    And -4 to upgrade Barkley

Sunderland must take some points sometime and their fixtures are incredible. If not Fletcher, I might go for Lambert after 2 GWs. Perhaps i ll wait for a week to check if Walcott starts and then make a move in midfield thx for the comments.

    Here's the situation...

I am hopelessly chasing a 32 point deficit (This chap has scored 245 in the past 3 gameweeks). Is it worth chasing the victory?

I know he will (c) Suarez - So I am relying on a blank from him and another mental Aguero performance.

    Here is his team:

    http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/1083790/event-history/12/

    and my team:

    http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/617603/event-history/12/

I think if I make another 'differential (to him)' substitution, which pays off (15 pointer), and Suarez blanks, and aguero nails it - I will win.

Worth a shot? Or completely unlikely?

So going into Sunday I was 9 points ahead of my opponent and confident of winning the tie.

    He had Aguero, Whittingham, Zabaleta

    I had Aguero, Januzaj, Nastasic.

Of he course Whitts gets a last minute assist and Nasty hauled off at ht and he ties it up only to progress on OR. Lovely
