Olivier Giroud is back for Arsenal, though Aaron Ramsey fails to recover in time for the trip to Villa. Everton will assess three key defenders for Norwich’s visit, though Ross Barkley emerges as a doubt. Southampton could welcome back Artur Boruc for a home clash with West Brom. Liverpool’s Daniel Agger may be out for a month, Jonathan De Guzman and Dwight Tiendalli are sidelined for Swansea’s trip to United, whilst Norwich have mixed news on the injury front:

Arsene Wenger confirmed Aaron Ramsey is still sidelined for the trip to Villa, though Kieran Gibbs has “a little chance” of returning. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is available after a five-month spell on the sidelines – the winger played 45 minutes for the reserves last night and his manager admitted he “wouldn’t have any hesitation” of playing him against the midlands outfit. Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil are back in training and available, though Thomas Vermaelen is likely to miss out after coming off against Spurs last weekend with a knee problem.

Roberto Martinez will check over the fitness of a quartet of players ahead of the visit of Norwich. Ross Barkley is a doubt after picking up a toe problem in the FA cup win over QPR. In defence, Leighton Baines was missing against QPR due to a back spasm but Martinez expects the left-back to recover, whilst Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagielka “are close to making Saturday, but also on the verge of missing” after recent hamstring problems.

Southampton have been boosted by the possible return of Artur Boruc after a hand injury for the visit of West Brom. In his pre-match press conference, Mauricio Pochettino would only say the Polish stopper “may or may not play” this weekend. The Saints boss also revealed that Rickie Lambert and Gaston Ramirez are “recovering well” and will be assessed going into the clash against West Brom, after the pair were forced off in the cup last weekend.

Michael Laudrup will be without the services of Jonathan de Guzman (calf) and Dwight Tiendalli (hamstring) for Swansea’s trip to Old Trafford. Pablo Hernandez and Roland Lamah are also “two to three weeks” away from a return for the Welsh outfit.

Norwich boss Chris Hughton has confirmed Seb Bassong, Wes Hoolahan and Bradley Johnson are all fit for the encounter with Everton, after the trio missed the FA Cup tie with Fulham last weekend, Meanwhile, Michael Turner and Jonny Howson remain out with hamstring and back injuries respectively. Hughton also revealed Anthony Pilkington and Alex Tettey have returned to light training, and could be pushing for a recall ahead of Hull’s visit to Carrow Road later this month.

Liverpool have suffered a fresh blow in defence with Daniel Agger reportedly out for four weeks with a calf strain. The Danish international limped off in the closing stages of the FA Cup win over Oldham and has since revealed the extent of his injury to the Danish press.

Hull defender Paul McShane is sidelined for three to four weeks with an ankle injury. Sone Aluko (Achilles) and Robbie Brady (groin) are on course for a return at the end of January or early February.

Reports suggest Robin van Persie has returned to training for United but is expected to miss out again this weekend. We await David Moyes’ press conference at 2pm for an official update, however.

The Newcastle press suggest Yohan Cabaye has returned to the club’s training base and will be assessed today as he attempts to overcome an Achilles injury.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

    Hey guys, RMT please!

And I'm gonna use my wildcard, may be next week. So do you have any suggestions? I have 1.4 in the bank and my actual squad is:

    Mannone
    Mertesacker - Coleman - Terry
Lallana - Sterling - Yaya Touré - Hazard
    Rooney - Suárez (C) - Lukaku (V)
Subs: Harper - Turner - Figueroa - El Ahmadi

I'm thinking of Rooney to Rodriguez, Lallana to Özil, moreover I want to see Agüero and Ramsey in my squad as they become fit. What whould you suggest?

PS January wildcard must be used till the end of month? It's not the same way as with the first wildcard?

Surprised by the D lads but I'm guessing you both think Rooney is out? If that's the case then it looks like a no brainer but I guess I have to wait to see if any news is available.

This is a great option as well. Boruc + Davis only costs 8.6, has you covered and allows you to upgrade that cheap DF (e.g. Chester) to someone like Bardsley.

Correct. I own Bardsley(should have had a CS last GW...thanks for nothing mr Cattermole!) and I'm not keen on selling him as I'm the only one in my ML owning him. He is always good for a goal.

Not necessarily but rotation has often not worked for me and I feel the 0.7 I can save is very useful on upgrading one of the cheaper DF/MFs.

It compares mostly underlying stats, including goal and assist potential. Even if Sagna is ahead on creativity stats, I am pretty confident he won't get many assists.

Also, the comparison tool doesn't tell you about it likelihood of getting bonus points.

In my opinion, the comparison tool is best used to compare two attacking players' underlying shot and creativity stats. Make sure you tick "Show averages per appearance" before comparing and scroll down for the relevant stats. IMO, the best ones are:

      Penalty Area Touches
      Goal Attempts In Box
      Shots On Target
      Shot Accuracy

      Through Balls
      Chances Created

I ran the comparison too. They are pretty much level on goal threat, although neither have particularly high goal threat. Goals from defenders are hard to predict anyway so I wouldn't worry about that. As for Creativity, is seems all of Sagna's created chances come from crosses, which usually have a poor conversion rate. When you consider that the majority of his crosses fail to find their target (you don't need stats to tell you this, just ask any Arsenal fan), you may as well forget it as Kosc will easily outscore any attacking returns from Sagna with bonus

I didn't actually realise they were the same price and had the same points with almost the same amount of minutes played, but I stand by my comment that Kosc will outscore Sagna barring any injuries, even if only marginally. Plus he is rising at the moment so you will probably make some money on Kosc

He's got 2 assists and a goal so far and Kos has none of either. Can't see why Sagna won't get more assists, he gets plenty of crosses in.

Fair points Tinker, but I'm not sure about Kos 'easily' outscoring Sagna - they have both played about the same minutes this season and have identical points so far. I think they are close enough in points potential to make Sagna a good choice as a differential.

Any thoughts on my WC team would be appreciated.

    Mignolet
    Coleman / Koscielny / BTurner
    Cazorla (c) / Silva / Gerrard / Oscar / Eriksen
    Suarez (vc) / Adebayor

    Davis / Chamakh / Chester / Parr

£4.3m in the bank (£4.2m is to upgrade Adebayor to Aguero) so essentialy £0.1m in the bank.

BTurner & Parr will rotate together. I have a feeling Cazorla will be a good punt over Ozil in the upcoming games, he seems to look like he is playing really well.

What do you guys think to it?

Arsenal striker might be the main transfer, but I'm not sure that would disrupt people's teams too much. I think the main troubles will be with the budget players - like the Sunderland goalkeeper for instance. New Cardiff and WBA managers will also facilitate a few unexpected changes too.

Southampton linked with Cesar who may be a threat to Boruc. But I hear wages are a hurdle.
Also linked to Astori (for yet another transfer window) to provide competition for our centre backs, Fonte and Lovren.

is there an idiots guide to all the members tools? i am slightly overwhelmed by it all.
It all looks like stuff that would be helpful but I am not sure wht to do with info.
Like what are the numbers for ICT for or numbers for influence, not even sure what ICT stands for.
Also in the public tables members have posted are they updated themselves or only relevant for the time they were posted.
ITWT seems to include current players in one he posted in 2012 but others from that time period stil have tevez and bale.

A lot of the public tables just involve "last 4 matches played" so remain relevant throughout the year.

ICT is Influence, Creativity, Threat and is basically just an indication as to how a player is doing in broader terms (creating chances, goal threat, etc).

Have a play around with the Comparison tool which I personally think is very useful, as well as the RMT tool.

My favourite is the season ticker though really but I suppose you know how to use that.

Yes of course, that team won the title last year, but this year have dropped to 3rd, been knocked out of the fa cup, lost to sunderland in the carling cup, lost three games in a row. Worst record in about 30 years I heard, all with last year's champions. Plus look at everton they are doing better with Moyes. Therefore the root cause is Moyes. PS I would love him to stay, he will cement man u as a mid table team within 2 years.

Last year everyone agrees we where very lucky to win the league.
The squad fergie left is and has been in total decline for years!
Take rvp's goals out of last year and we would of been in the same position we are in now.
The money people completely let moyes down in the summer transfer window.
Fergie and his book gave moyes even more problems to deal with.

He is a born loser. Never won any titles (well he won the second division with preston north end) and never won at Anfield, nice. Even though he has been in management for about 15 years.

The only reason he got the job is because he is scottish and fergie's mate. Not exactly good qualifications.

Yer I agree, but like you say, Who? Lukaku too hit and miss, doubts in Wayne. If hes confirmed not fit by Moyes I will bring in Negredo and captain him.

I don't really want to but I need to find a decent alternative first. Lukaku is tempting me, as is Rooney (if he's fit he starts, if not he doesn't feature at all).

Always wait a few weeks with Andy... he'll pop a goal, pop an assist, and then a ligament
