Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are back in full training ahead of United’s clash with Cardiff. Roberto Martinez has worries over three defensive regulars, Aaron Ramsey returns for Arsenal, West Ham’s defensive problems ease, whilst Yohan Cabaye edges towards a move to PSG:

Manchester United have received a welcome boost after key duo Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney both returned to full training following thigh and groin injuries respectively. The pair are in contention to feature against Cardiff, along with fit-again Marouane Fellaini and new recruit Juan Mata.

Yohan Cabaye looks poised to swap Tyneside for the French capital, after reports suggest Newcastle have agreed a fee with PSG for his services. The Magpies will be without Papiss Cisse against the Canaries due to a back problem, whilst Yoan Gouffran is also expected to miss out.

In yesterday’s team news bulletin, Arsene Wenger revealed that Aaron Ramsey, Mikel Arteta and Thomas Vermaelen were all back in the squad for Arsenal’s trip to St Mary’s. Jack Wilshere is a doubt for the trip to the South Coast, though, after picking up an ankle problem in the cup victory over Coventry at the weekend. The Arsenal boss also suggested that fellow midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is not yet fully fit, after returning from injury last week.

Ahead of the Merseyside derby, Roberto Martinez is monitoring several players, including the defensive trio of Seamus Coleman, Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagielka, with the latter’s withdrawal at the weekend being a precautionary measure. Winger Gerard Deulofeu is expected to be available for the Gameweek 25 trip to Spurs a week on Sunday.

West Ham’s defensive problems have eased with Big Sam revealing that Winston Reid is back in training for the first time following several weeks out through injury. However, the New Zealand international won’t be considered for the London derby with Chelsea in midweek, though both George McCartney and Joey O’Brien have recovered from recent injuries for the Stamford Bridge showdown.

West Brom have mixed injury news ahead of the Midlands derby, with Pepe Mel revealing that Gareth McAuley has returned to full fitness after missing the Everton clash with a hamstring injury. Stephane Sessegnon will be sidelined for a month as he undergoes minor surgery to cure a groin problem.

Brendan Rodgers will check on Joe Allen’s fitness ahead of the Merseyside derby, after the midfielder missed the weekend cup win over Bournemouth with a hamstring problem. The Liverpool boss ruled out Mamadou Sakho once more, suggesting that the defender is still “two to three weeks away” from a return.

Victor Wanyama could make his comeback from injury against the Gunners, with Mauricio Pochettino confirming the midfielder has been in training for over a week. The midfielder may get “some minutes” but Rickie Lambert will be assessed after missing the cup victory over Yeovil with a hamstring complaint.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tonight’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter stream as breaking news unfolds.

Commonly owned players I haven't had in my team so far this season:

    Aguero
    Ravel Morrison
    Januzaj
    Oscar
    Ozil
    Brady
    Ben Turner
    Shaw/Clyne
    Yaya
    Barkley
    Boruc
    Whittingham
    Lallana

On my wildcard currently so one or two of these will drop off the list, looks like Mata might have to be added to it though at the rate his bandwagon is going!

No benefit to anyone from this post, just wanted to share 🙂

Just lulling everyone into a false sense of security. A bit like the Aussie cricket team. The season so far is the tour of England and the rest of the season is the annihilation. 😉

What makes everybody think that azpi is nailed on? I don't know a great deal about the Chelsea backline but am I right in saying that Terry and Cahill are both nailed, which leaves Ivan, Cole and Azpi fighting for the remaining full back spots? Ivan seems first choice out of the three. How about David Luiz, is he nailed on as a defensive mid for oop prospects?

Looking at Azpi's stats he doesn't seem that great anyway, not a single shot and a chance created every 3 games or so and he doesn't attract any bonus points. Seems like the kind of defender to either score 6 or 2 although I haven't seem him play so I might be mistaken. Terry, Cahill, Ivan an Cole all seem to outclass him in this regard.

      He isn't, neither is Cahill.

Ivan is nailed, as is Terry.

Luiz is certainly not nailed as a DM, that will be Matic every game, then Ramires and Lampard rotating for the other spot.

If we play 4-3-3 Mikel may start also.

Luiz's time in midifeld is over, he will occasionally play over Cahill at the back.

Azpi has no attacking threat as he can't cross on his weak foot.

The reason he is being considered is Chelsea's clean sheet potential and his low price, my pick of the bunch is Ivan though

Thanks for that, Ivan is also my pick of the bunch budget permitting, should score as many points as Terry for 0.7m less.

Tough one. Depends how much license Ivan gets to go forward and out crosses in. He hasn't had much so far, but I think with Matic and therefore a more solid defensive midfield, he may be allowed to get forward more. Chelsea undoubtedly have better clean sheet potential though. If I am right about Iva getting forward more now, then him. Otherwise Coleman.

Cheers special one. I had Ivan at the start of the season but he never really performed to his price tag. Think i'm going to take a punt on him again now as i agree with your comments about clean sheet potential. Also from an attacking perspective coleman might be impacted by the return of baines. I suspect i'll regret this at the weekend when chelsea are away to man city and everton are at home to villa !

Even with Baines, Coleman gets forward more than Ivan. So it's 6/10 cleanie potential + 6/10 attacking potential with Coleman vs 8/10 cleanie potential for Iva and currently 3/10 attacking, but I expect it to change to a 7. Iva long term better pick anyway I think

Well 21 points from 2 games for Ivanovic, 0 for Coleman. Nice differential against the leader of my ML who kept Coleman.

This is pretty similar to my team so I need to hope that the few differences can make up the 20 points in the Sheilkh league!

Would probably do it if jedinak is all you have coming on. Need to get him out.

Someone mentioned earlier that Negrado trained, maybe worth a search to get some official news.

Having said that, he'd be the priority to ditch this week.

Is Adrian in goal nailed? Pops up in a lot of teams. Adrian instead of Marshall allows Bony instead of J.Rod or Lallana instead of AJ (in my 'mata' team - still undecided on that...)

    Howard (Marshal)
    Clyne. Merte. Ward (Chester. Coleman)
    Lallana. Hazard. Yaya. Wilshere (Ki)
    Aguero. Suarez. Giroud

    1.0 ITB. 1 FT

How does Giroud to Bony sound? Got Ki as my first sub in case Wilshere doesn't play

Good team ftw! Bony is a good punt but Gru has just as good an opportunity to score well.

Thanks BAPS. Just frustrated with Giroud's inconsistency. Expecting Bony to do a little more against Fulham as compared to Giroud against Southampton. What say?

Back from holiday last night at 2am so I'm a bit slow catching up on all the news!

Do we reckon Bruce will keep his place? I planned to bring McShane in as my 5th defender who will be on the bench most/all weeks, but I'd like to have one that starts!

True. If McShane comes in, I'll go with him, but if Bruce starts, we probably can't be sure McShane won't come into the team at the weekend

In the interest of differentials in my mini-league I'm thinking of doing:
    A. Aguero, roo and sturridge as opposed to B. Suarez, Aguero and Adebayor

    Am I mad?

Very solid. I'm not sure I'd have Marshall in there, 16 goals conceded in their last 6.
