John Terry is still sidelined for Chelsea. Billy Jones is a doubt for West Brom. Kevin Nolan has recovered from the groin injury picked up at the weekend. Robert Snodgrass is set for a late fitness test for Norwich. Craig Noone could return for Cardiff, Liam Rosenior is likely to miss out for Hull and Mathieu Debuchy is out of Newcastle’s home game with Tottenham:

Jose Mourinho has confirmed John Terry will remain on the sidelines with the muscle problem that forced him to miss Saturday’s win over Newcastle. The Chelsea boss expects his skipper to return in time for the weekend FA Cup clash with City, though Fernando Torres has recovered from a knee problem and returns to the squad to face West Brom this evening.

Pepe Mel has admitted Billy Jones is a doubt for West Brom due to a knee problem, with Steven Reid set to deputise at right-back if he fails to make it. The Baggies boss also conceded he may hand new boy Thievy Bifouma a start after he climbed off the bench to score against Palace in Saturday, though Jonas Olsson, Nicolas Anelka and Stephane Sessegnon all remain on the sidelines.

Kevin Nolan has recovered from the groin problem that forced him off midway through the second-half against Villa. Mohamed Diame and Joe Cole are both available for the Hammers home clash against Norwich, though Ravel Morrison has been unable to train due to an ongoing groin problem, Sam Allardyce has revealed.

Robert Snodgrass will require a late fitness test for the Canaries. The Scot missed the weekend draw against City with a groin injury and “has a chance”, according to his manager, who will be without Jonas Gutierrez and Ryan Bennett. Michael Turner is back running after a hamstring injury but is “a number of weeks” away.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes to have Craig Noone and Kevin Theophile-Catherine available for Cardiff’s clash with Villa. The latter missed out with a knee complain at the weekend, whilst Noone failed to come off the bench after sustaining a muscle strain. Craig Bellamy faces a likely three-match ban after the FA charged him with violent conduct for an incident with Swansea’s Jonathan de Guzman at the weekend.

Steve Bruce has conceded Liam Rosenior is “extremely doubtful” for Hull’s clash with Southampton after picking up a hamstring problem at the weekend. The Tigers boss went on to say he may shift Ahmed Elmohamady or Paul McShane to right-back if Rosenior fails to make it.

Mathieu Debuchy is ruled out of Newcastle’s home game against Spurs with the calf complaint that forced him off at Chelsea on Saturday. Alan Pardew is still without Cheick Tiote and Fabricio Coloccini, though is optimistic on a return for Papiss Cisse.

Garry Monk has revealed Michu has missed training due to a swollen ankle but is still hopeful the Spaniard will play some part against Stoke. The Swans boss also expects Jonjo Shelvey to return to action shortly as he continues his comeback from a hamstring problem.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this evening’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

This is the team I want moyes to play for the rest of the season and stop messing about changing the team. At least then we know who is good enough to play next year and more than likely who needs to be sold/replaced. Raf, carrick and probably fellani( id give hom another season just bescuse hes new) aren't good enough. Evra, vidic ( hes finished anyway) and rio will leave. I think evans and smalling should be used as a squad players.

So we need a right and left back, a centre back and at least one centre midfielder. If moyes can't sort it out next year with new players then I think he'll have to go.

    ..............degea.............
    Raf..Jones..Evans.Evra
    .....Fellaini...Carrick......
    .Januzaj.Rooney. Mata.

Yep, good point - but you know what it's like, trying to distract myself from a grey morning at work with a bit of team tinkering! I agree it's a difficult and in some ways welcome dilemma, used to have Ki as my 5th mid but that was just carrying dead weight and as I have a pretty high TV (also have RVP up front) and a fair amount of spare cash, getting Sterling in as my 5th seemed to make sense.

At one point was even considering playing both of them and putting RVP on the bench, but couldn't really stomach the thought of leaving £13m+ on the sidelines...

I'd play Sterling. He has the easier fixture and Lallana is really more of a home player - JRod tends to do the business for Southampton away from home.

Im American...can someone explain to me what a tube strike really is? I know the tube is the train transport system and probably the main method of transport for most of the fans. But do workers just complain about not enough pay? And if so...why is there like a tube strike every year? and why only at this time of the season usually?

A strike is when the works (the Tube drivers) decide not to work basically. You do have strikes in the US do you not??

Strong unions, however, also stagnate the economy and often also the politics. They can be very detrimental, when a state needs to change its economic structures (they're not the only thing that causes this, but one of them). To make firing people too difficult causes serious problems both to people on labor market and to entrepreneurs.

Yeh Tube drivers is definitely a good job and they get decent money but the government are often trying to move the goalposts on them which is probably quite annoying I think they really threaten the strikes just to make sure they don't have the piss taken out of them too much with cuts etc!

But it isn't the drivers who are asking for better pay/job security - it is the station staff who do not get decent pay and are getting laid off.

That's how I've understood it. But the thing is that if they have been replaced with machines, and are no longer needed, they are basically going for a strike in order to keep paid jobs without any actual work to do. Which is not very supportable.

Where I live, most of the transports work without ticket offices and everybody is fine with that. Have been to London, and to my mind it seemed pretty simple to keep a minimum of offices to serve those few who really need it (they can my periodical tickets, for example, so they don't have to visit the office on every fecking trip they do), and lay off the large majority of workers.

dont know if it is same in your country, assume all unions are controlled by mafia.
unions are very strong in this country, though not as much as they were.
really depends which side of the fence you sit on as to how you see it.

poor downtrodden workers being fleeced out of rights and money.
rich owners fleecing workers out of rights and money.

This strike is all about the mayor trying to close down all the ticket offices in the stations, something he had specifically promised that he was not going to do when he was running for election. It is not about pay, it is about manned stations, and resisting planned job losses that would lead to a less safe service.

They don't have a tube strike every year, but when they do it is generally down to the fact that the mayor is an idiot.

But if their work doesn't produce anything, these are not, from the point of view of society, real job losses, just cutting expenses and getting people back to labor market from the safety heaven of sheltered work.

Not saying the mayor wasn't an idiot, but he would absolutely be an idiot to invest in machines to do the work at stations and still keep the stations manned so that he basically pays twice for the same job.

Who's more likely to get a CS in your opinion:

        A) An extremely defensive(?) Palace side against an Everton attack with 2 goals in their last 3 games

        B) A potentially depleted Hull defence at home against an on-song Southampton

It comes down to Bruce (obviously pending line-up and if Rosenior misses out) vs. Ward for me.

Sterling if the game goes through. Had the same to spend on an Eriksen replacement and decided that:

Adam - great pick with guaranteed GW29 but average 2 next fixtures (mcy, ARS)
Nolan - good fixtures and form but stats don't add up (4 shots, 4 goals, 100% conversion in the last 2 games and Carroll still out)
Mirallas - Everton looking quite weak up front, very frustrating player to own and Everton have a bad fixture again next GW
Sterling - Cheap and plays for the in-form team. May not be as clinical as the other options but good stats and gets a lot of opportunities in that team with SAS + Gerrard.
Zaha - Very punty, good fixtures but again very poor team and seems like he would be a frustrating/inconsistent player to own.

2 free transfers and no cash to spend. Current team is

        Boruc
        Coleman Azpilcueta Kolarov
        Sterling Eriksen Hazard MAta
        Suarez Dzeko RVP

        Mannone Ki Mertesacker Ward

Thinking of doing RVP to Sturridge. This leaves me with 10.9m to spend if I want to change Eriksen to maybe Silva or Yaya? Or should I just do the Sturridge swap and save the transfer again?

                  C) Clyne or Chambers to Demel

I'd like to have Sterling so I guess I'll leave as it is.
If I do, do you think I'll be able to beat this lot?

                      Me: Chambers/Clyne + JRod + Ward + Hazard(C) + Silva
                      Him: Demel + Hooper + Benteke + Zaha + Yaya(C) + Mirallas

I know I'm bothering you a bit,but it will be of great help!

Tight affair. Will come down to the battle between Clyne/Chambers vs Demel. Start Chambers imo

I'll have the advantage of seeing the lineups which will help. As the h2h league is my main priority, you reckon I'll be safe to beat this team without any hits?

Tight affair as i said .Your tie will be decided tonight. You are in with a very good chance If Hazard gets a good score and Yaya blanks . 🙂
