The New Payment Method Has Arrived

After many requests in previous seasons, we’re pleased to announce that we’ve now introduced a new method of payment, allowing would-be members to sign up using their debit/credit cards without having to use Paypal.

The new system is powered by Stripe payments. We don’t store your details on Fantasy Football Scout, they’re encrypted and sent to Stripe and only stored by them if you select the option on our form.

If you’re an existing user you and upgrade via Stripe, you will receive an email from us confirming your payment. If you’re a new user registering an account, you’ll receive both your username and password and your payment confirmation in separate emails.

Stripe is currently our default method of payment, although Paypal is still available in the Payment Method drop down on our registration and upgrade forms.

Pre-season memberships are available for £12.50 (RRP £15.00). Full details on the benefits of being a member and the instructions to sign up can be found here.

    Newbie here (switching from Metro)

    Trying to get my head around the fluctuating player prices.

    If you select an extremely popular player like Alexi Sanchez who's currently selected in 38.4% of squads, how quickly and by how much is his price likely to rise ?. (Obviously assuming that he remains a popular selection).

    Is it worth basing at least some of your initial squad selection around player popularity in order to increase the funds at your disposal ?.

      Player prices fluctuate based on people buying and selling the buyers.

      The players with less ownership have more people who could buy them, therefore the lesser owned players are more likely to increase in value.

      prices go up and down by percentage of ownership added or decreased. obviously a very high owned player is unlikely to rise much, thou at the begining of the season everyone is engaged and a 38% ownership can go up as high as 60% is he is smashing it.
      there is of course a risk that he starts slowly and many poeple switch so prices will decrease - thou not very fast as its all proportional to ownership.

        thats technically not true - actually the bigger risk is the 5% owned players not performing - they will drop faster - as they need a small amount of poeple to ditch them to go down in price.
        RVP for example started 14 and never went below 13.6 if i remmeber correctly.

        That's great guy's, was under the misapprehension that a players price fluctuations were based on the numbers of squads he is selected in, not how popular he is in the transfer market

      That midfield has weakened your forward line too much IMO. Yaya or Sanchez for a 9m and then reinvest up top.

      Not bad at all.

      Cameron's place might be in doubt though: Bardsley Shawcross Huth Pieters
      Barkley has shown no sign of being a good FPL player, and most feel he very overpriced at 7m.
      And Im not convinced by Jagielka, nor any Everton defence with their European commitments.

      everton fixtures are bad - so jags can wait - and also barkley is overpriced for those fixtures and his role. cameron is facing competition from bardsley so its a bit risky.

    I just picked my team in UFPL, filled out the age verification thingy and it couldn't work out that i'm over 18. Now i'm blocked from even picking my team :/

        He scored the highest per minute for any mid last season, so I'm not sure how 9 could be too much. Maybe you could make that argument if he played poorly after returning from injury, but that was far from being the case.

    Krul/Mannone seems to be the default keeper pairing these days. Last I checked Mannone might very well be challenged for the first choice spot by Panti. I'm planning to save my WC for longer than GW3 this season (yeah right) and I wouldn't want to have to spend a transfer on a stopper. Am I the only one concerned about Mannone starting on here?

        I guess that's always a risk with rotating keepers anyway. My biggest concern is if half of my rotation is nailed to the bench. Not so concerned about points on the bench as long as my playing keeper makes a decent score.

    Too early for WC planning?

    Is anyone considering a GW4 WC? 3 weeks of playing the fixtures and assessing everything before setting up the team over the international break for up until the Jan WC.

    I normally save mine till later in the season but TV always suffers and the inevitable unknown bandwagons get missed.

    If so, United, Chelsea and Arsenal cover looks a must.

        Seriously though, the message is to try again later or to contact my issuing bank. It's quite a new card, but I've used it to order goods online 3 times from 2 different vendors already though.

        I'm wondering if it has to do with cross-border gambling laws or somefink.

    I am thinking of doing home/away rotations for my GKs as well as 4 of my defenders - with Cahill as well. Saves a bit of cash for the big hitters in midfield. Anyone else doing something similar. There are some really good cheap rotations out there...

      Not sold on Vlaar, he is a completely different defender at Villa. I'll get Chambers at that price. Also Lovren->Debuchy/Dann and Azpi(not nailed) to >Cahill

          Azpi not nailed with Felipe Luiz signing. Cahill the only secure option in that defense really.
          I wouldn't pay that much on a Liverpool defender, Debuchy is a better choice (if he goes to Arsenal)

    This could prove difficult.

    "Generously priced"? More like awkwardly priced, lots of top options for around 9m in midfield, lots of top options for 6 or 5.5 in defence, nobody really up front, choose 1 between Rooney, RVP, Studge and Costa.

    I find myself struggling for proper, cheap bargains though. Especially up front, considering Wickham again..

        I'm thinking of going with Rooney + Dzeko and then a cheap 3rd striker like Wickham, I don't see much value in the strikers at all, Sturridge maybe, but rotation might affect him, especially if Pool sign Bony or someone. RVP and Aguero both had long WC campaigns and finished last season injured.. I'm not pushed 🙁

          Dzeko is a great option, provided that he is nailed on (which he never is!)
          I'd personally pick Jelavic over Wickham. Unavoidable at that price and with those fixtures!

          I'd also have second thoughts if any other striker were to join (I'd pick Costa in that case), but at the moment I have Sturridge all but penciled in

          RVP doesn't convince me too,I've gone Rooney myself 🙂

            Jelavic went off the boil massively towards the end of last year though and he has Europa.. Wickham should now be the main man at Sunderland, same price, similar prospects..

            Ah feck it, I know I'll end up with something completely different 🙂 fun to tinker finally though 😀
