We continue our series of articles for members focusing on the player Key Performance Indicators (KPI). This time around, we delve into the data to discover those forwards who favoured home comforts over 2013/14 and also assess the more consistent strikers who produced the same sort of attacking threat regardless of fixture.

For the unfamiliar, these Key Performers Indicator (KPI) tables are designed to use a series of key stats to allow our members to track form or change in player performance. By tracking the frequency of certain key statistics and comparing over two separate periods of time, we can ascertain each player’s form, whether it be an improvement or decrease in displays on the pitch. As mentioned in last summer’s introductory article, we’ve rolled out a preview movie which shows just how to get the best out of the KPI tables.

first and probably not last RMT of the season..

    de gea . schmeichel
lovren . felipe luis . shaw . debuchy . davies
    ramsey . lamela . barkley . hoilett . albrighton
    rvp . remy . dzeko

i know have gone very heavy in defence but it looks so damn tasty..downgrade?
lamela and ramsey are musts for me in the middle, which cheapie (6 and under) would you guys go with?
should i downgrade rvp to upgrade remy or the midfield?

you've only got one good midfielder and he's got rough fixtures...usually attacking players score more than defenders...the wiggles to the rules will likely reduce bonus points for defenders

Feel that Hazard is a must this season. Pens and freekicks in his locker.
RvP may not start the season well cus of world cup.
      Remy may not play regularly
      Heavy defence.
      Barkley too expensive.

you need to play 3 at the back. downgrade two of your defenders to cheapies.
nothing wrong with lamela being a must if you think so, back yourself in
ditch barkley and one of hoilett/albrighton for sigurdsson/snodgrass/arnautovic etc

hinging on Verm to United, but here's still where I am:

    Mannone - Krul
    Luis - Verm - Bavies - Targett - Wisdom
    Sanchez - Haz - Mata - Eriksen - Wanyama
    Rooney - Dzeko - Austin

    question marks being:
    Verm
    Targett
    Wisdom

I like it a lot. Though the Verm deal sounds like no certainty.

I personally don't fancy any of the 6 mil fwd's, which is prompting my choice to potentially go 3-5-2, with Barnes (or other 4.5 ST) + siggy over Austin and wanyama. But given the uncertainty over the 4 mil bench defenders, I'd be happy to keep your team how it is.

Agree re. Vermy - have a solid Plan B since he may well not move, esp by GW1.

But I have a different view re. the 6M and under forwards. It's a worthwhile gamble to take a punt on one of the strikers of a promoted club who will get gametime, such as Austin. The money saved can get you a super-strong midfield as you say. I've got a starting line up with 10 strong players, and Ulloa lined up alongside RVP (yes I could switch to Rooney and upgrade Ulloa). I'm good for 4-4-2 and 3-5-2.

Not necessarily, but I think my 0.5 can be better invested elsewhere. Bear in mind we're talking about players expected to fill the bench but might be called up if a first choice is left out. That 0.5 can upgrade a non-playing 4M defender to a playing 4.5M defender - I prefer that insurance.

Think I've settled on my team, with the Power 3 in midfield. Still room to downgrade Yaya if needed.

    Krul - Foster
    Terry - Davies - Ward - Simpson - Wisdom
    Sanchez - Yaya - Siggie - Hazard - Wanyama
    Rooney - Dzeko - Bent

I know the selection of Bent seems peculiar, but AVL have good fixtures in the first 3 games and he looks nailed on since Benteke and Kozak are out. With Weimann and Agbonlahor feeding him, I think this punt could pay off.

Of course, I could also downgrade Yaya to Silva and have a 7m forward in place of Bent.

    Any thoughts?

Albrighton is similar to JWP both aren't certain starters but if they were to start they'd be solid options.

Yeh. I've got Davis as my 5th Mid filler, but despite Southampton's good opening fixture list, I'm avoiding the likes of Tadic and Pelle until they've got a settled squad.

Just one man u attacker? I'm going with three, but two is a good option. If Lukaku doesn't move I don't see a prolific replacement for 9.0. With Jelavic there as well the forward line looks weak. If Sanchez gets the striker position then its much better, but that remains to be seen. Will toure be on penalties and kicks if Aguero is fit? Sigurdsson is a good shout. Defence is ok. basically, there are still a lot of ifs to be sorted out before the season.

Lukaku will move. Feel like the 240+ points Toure got last season can't all disappear. I suppose I could downgrade him to Mata though and upgrade Jelavic to Remy?

Here is my team at the moment, can i have some opinions please.

    De gea, Myhill
Shaw, Filipe Luis, Davis, Moore, Vlaar
    Silva, Hazard, Eriksen, Sigurdsson, Albrighton
    Rooney, Sturridge, Nugent

    I’ll be playing a 3-4-3 formation.

I've been thinking of making some adjustments,
Lamela for Eriksen (depending on who will being playing behind the striker)
    Pelle or Rivere for Nugent
Hazard for Schurrle (depending on schurrle getting game time)

    Manone Krul
Terry Cameron Davies Mariappa De Laet
    Ramsey Mata Pucheon Ince Albrighton
    Dzeko Rooney Van Persie
    .5 in the bank

I know, three attackers from ManU. But those first six fixtures with the possibility of 3-5-2 formation looks too good to pass on. Looks like Mata will be in the hole with Rooney and Persie up top. Also, the top four teams of last season don't have the best of fixtures, which improve after this period. Will gladly take a hit at that time if required.

I'm not so sure about the others. Any thoughts?

Transfer specs. Apologies if these are a bit old. I was busy yesterday:

Everton are showing an interest in AIK's highly-rated Sweden winger Nabil Bahoui. Southampton, Sunderland and Crystal Palace have all been to watch Bahoui as have St Etienne. (Daily Mail)

Cardiff City will need to bid £5m to prise Jose Fonte from Southampton. The Bluebirds have already had two bids turned down for the 30-year-old this summer, the latest a £3.25m bid. (Daily Mail)

Harry Redknapp’s QPR are ready to pull off a major coup by signing French World Cup dazzler Mathieu Valbuena in a £7million deal. (Mirror)

Chelsea have urged World Cup winger Christian Atsu to choose the loan club that gives him the best chance of breaking into their new-look team in 12 months’ time. (Mirror)

Yun has had extended leave due to his world cup duties so has been unavailable up to now. Think he's back this coming week though.

I'm not sure he's Redknapp's first choice LB anyway, though.

Most QPR fans wanted Redknapp to play Yun at LB in the Championship but Harry decided to loan in BAE instead, who turned out to be Bosingwa version 2.0 as far as 'not giving a toss' was concerned.

My guess is that Harry will prefer Traore over Yun for the left wingback role in the 3 CB defence because Traore is a better winger than defender.

But have a look at our next set of friendlies where Yun is available and see how and when Redknapp plays him.

Well a half-way house is players who've moved from one EPL side to another, such as Davies or Shaw. Then there's Fabby who has extensive EPL experience. I think they are less of a gamble than the likes of Herrera, Sanchez, Costa or Tadic who have no EPL experience.

United will likely play 3 at the back, which is sketchy while they adapt to a new system. Besides, LVG has hardly kept many cleansheets for Holland, maybe because they don't have any big time defenders, but that question mark remains. Mariappa and Cameron are your men it seems like, then.

Ward and Pieters specifically; question marks over Marry and Cam starting.
Re. United - I'm factoring in their opening fixture schedule, plus noting the performances of their first choice defence in the friendlies - not too shabby so far.

Well then, I have done the same. Just enjoy discussing it. Shaw is in my team especially because the fixtures are so amazing. Cam will likely make it into my team, but maybe at the expense of a Palace defender, or Naylor perhaps (the guy has attacking intent).

352 urges if Siggy is favoured above a cheap third striker and Hazard is a better option to Oscar...
