We continue our series of articles for members focusing on the player Key Performance Indicators (KPI). This time around, we delve into the data to discover those forwards who favoured home comforts over 2013/14 and also assess the more consistent strikers who produced the same sort of attacking threat regardless of fixture.

For the unfamiliar, these Key Performers Indicator (KPI) tables are designed to use a series of key stats to allow our members to track form or change in player performance. By tracking the frequency of certain key statistics and comparing over two separate periods of time, we can ascertain each player’s form, whether it be an improvement or decrease in displays on the pitch. As mentioned in last summer’s introductory article, we’ve rolled out a preview movie which shows just how to get the best out of the KPI tables.

This has been discussed hundreds of times and thought about countless times. But I would like a definite answer

Rooney vs RVP

Question - Is RVP really worth the extra 2.5m over Rooney ?

With LVG in charge I expect the forward line to be one of the following

-------Mata
Rooney---RVP

or

Mata----Rooney
------RVP

this could be a big factor in terms of who will get the goals pts. If RVP is played alone out front then he might just justify crippling the rest of my team for an extra 2.5m. Although Rooney would still get a large number of assists and about half of robin's goals too.

'Captaincy + being dutch' factor

LVG absolutly loved van persie at the world cup, his faith in him saw an amazing return in goalscoring form. Being that now LVG is at man utd and is likely to hand the armband to RVP, will this continue boosting his ego and help him achieve his best form yet ?

Injuries

Yeah RVP is quite often injured, I dont mind long term injuries ( from an FPL point of view since I'm a utd supporter), because then at least I can transfer him out for Rooney for 5/6 gameweeks, however getting injured for 1 or 2 weeks kind of f***s everything up since his price is never the same to buy him as it was when you sold him and will require some late nighters trying tp figure out how not shoot yourself in the head

I would have liked to back this post with some stats but I'm still in bed on my phone trying to shake off this hangover..

  It looks as though MU will play 2 strikers (Rooney, RVP) with Mata behind them. There's also a chance RVP will be rested early, and VG has made noises to that effect. To me this points to having Rooney and Mata in your starting team, and waiting to see how things develop before considering RVP.

    You seem to have an extra symbol after your name, so I assume your a big deal. When using the prediction system for Lamela he scores very low marks. I assume this is because of his chances of starting probability has been entered as low.
    
    I thought he was assured of starts based on previous posts, what are your thoughts on his starting probability?

      I'm just a measly moderator.
      New manager may play him a lot in future. Hard to read much into friendlies.
      If he looks nailed on to start, those numbers will reflect it when updated twice weekly.
      You are correct, starting probability & last seasonssub appearances have held those numbers back.

    I read recently that JM noted that Luis, being a specialist LB, is something he wanted and that allows him to play Azpi at RB and have Ivan move to CB. Up to you to decide if that happens but as a supporter I'd say that is going to be our preferred situation (rest and from aside).
    
    Also, Luis just recently noted that he felt a bit short on fitness. This could be a sign that perhaps, if fitness and such is a factor, that we may see the backline of last season start the new one but that, once Luis is ready, will revert to the new setup. This naturally may not be a factor come the start of season.
    
    So yes, Luis a starter if he's fit and ready.

  Lamela, Dee Jon and Tadic add up to too many punts in the mf. Even though you're not intending to play him, a bit of rotation or a couple of injuries mean you'll regret having Zamora as one of your three strikers. It's important to have at least one guy on your bench who has a good chance of getting points if required. I would want to improve at least two of those four players

This Vermaelen to Yoonited looks like it should edge closer now Arsenal have brought in Chambers.

Why you say this? He's a RB no?

The talk last night was Wenger looks like he's brought him in to play CB.... Wenger has stated Vermaelen can leave once he has brought in a new def.... This has now been done...

I would expect then this Vermaelen to Yoonited to be done before season starts... Although, as it stands from an fpl point view I would avoid him, seeing as he would not have trained or done any pre season woth said team.... But will be an excellent buy when he does become their CB

  One of the best teams I've seen on here. I'd be inclined to go Giroud over Bony week 1, then shift them over. But that's not a big deal either way. Really nice balance.

      I found the extra cash from Sanchez to Rambo allows you to upgrade Eriksen to Mata. Dunno, seems stronger to me somehow.
