With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the  Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please encourage those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial lineups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

First up, I’ve decided to post my current lineup. I’ve opted for a squad that has a spread of money across the positions, with two rotating goalkeepers and a strong focus on the four to five teams I think are most likely to profit from goals and clean sheets. It also shows a strong bias towards those teams with favourable early fixtures and, hopefully, it’s set up to be flexible enough to make quick early repairs.

Guzan (Krul)

Terry Evans NTaylor (Wisdom, Duff)

Ramsey Hazard Mata Henderson (Albrighton)

Rooney Adebayor Dzeko

0.5m in the bank

My main deliberation surrounds whether to go with Diego Costa up front and and an 8.5 midfielder, probably Rahaeem Sterling, instead of my current selection of Emmanuel Adebayor and Eden Hazard. That gives me a Gameweek 2 option to possibly swap one of Jordan Henderson or Sterling for Gylfi Sigurdsson, although I’m happy to keep both those Liverpool midfielders if a transfer is urgently required elsewhere. I do feel that Hazard will be the top source of Chelsea points, however.

Alternatively, I could stick with Hazard and a 9.0 striker. Of this group, the main options seem to be Romelu Lukaku and Adebayor. This also gives me flexibility to hop on any emerging strikers who show promise for 8.5 or less. As you can see, I’m currently favouring this option.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMT’s throughout the day on this article.

Seems to be working really well. 12 pages of RMTs since it launched at 11:30am today full of great advice and lots of different teams. Lots of thanks as well from posters.

You should try posting your own RMT - you never know...may get some good advice on some new differentials you hadn't considered.

Yep...if I go with the Haz plus 9m or below striker option that place is up for grabs. It was initially Giroud...but I think he needs time. I may go Lukaku...I think next week should help with that role.

I'm not sure Terry, Evans, duff, Wisdom, Albrighton, Dzeko, Adebayor are going to play play every week. I know a few of them are nit picky and are somewhat dependent on transfers but I personally would like to start the seasons with a team of players who are 100% nailed on, otherwise the door opens to spending transfers you don't want to spend to ship players who haven't played meaning you're probably taking hits you could of avoided.

I have thought about it and had him in my team but there is 2 champions league games in September, I think, and if he does get rotated it's probably going to be around these games. I'm going without Chelsea defence as I'm not sure I could stomach 6/6.5 on the bench, when I could say pick a defence now that is 100% nailed and I can focus my transfers in a more productive way. That's just my 2 pennies though.

good team...although keep an eye out for Giroud...he's woefully low on form post World Cup and may take a game or two to get going.

Also I think you should consider downgrading one of your defenders. Sagna is far from nailed on...use that money to upgrade Tiote or El Ahamadi...just one bench fodder midfielder is to be advised. Also with Tiote - brace yourself for yellow cards and suspensions.

I prefer Jovetic to Dzeko (despite the risk). Especially in the short term.

Liverpool start with tough games so Lovren is one you might eat to bring in later.

Really not keen on Tiote and ElAhmadi, neither will offer fantasy returns.

Sagna is also not nailed on so I'd look to downgrade him to a budge option and free up funds to improve that midfield.

Mertesacker won't start at the beginning of the season either, Wenger has said those involved late on in the world cup (such as German players) won't be ready for the start of the season.

Bruce is another player who cannot be assured of a spot, I would expect him to be rotated.

Also beware that Terry, Giroud, Eriksen and Dzeko aren't completely nailed on. They are probably first team players in most cases but the game time of each one is slightly under risk.

Not sure about your defence at all.

Will Mert be rested for the first few games?
Liverpool defence still looks shaky (although Lovren hasn't played yet).
Is Zabaleta first choice right back at Man City?
I don't think Bruce is nailed on either.

Yeah, at 11m you expect at least what he scored last year. But then again it's all "relevant", and is he still scores the most of all the midfielders by 50pts, it doesn't really matter if it's only 180pts.

Not a bad team Jonty. If it was me I'd definitely go with Costa and Sterling instead of Ade and Hazard.

Sterling imo is going to have a breakout season and will compete alongside some of the other big hitting midfielders such as Hazard. Liverpool will look to Sterling more now that Suarez has gone, I believe he will relish the opportunity to help fill those massive boots.

Also I firmly believe Ade's spot is under serious threat. With a new manager there is no guarantee that Ade will continue up front, there is a chance a new striker will sign and there is a significant chance there will be rotation amongst the forward ranks. For me, that makes Ade a little too risky.

Hazard also started slowly last season and he hasn't done anything this pre-season so far. Belgium also made it to the quarter finals of the world cup, Hazard had 5 appearances (368 minutes) for 2 assists. Compare to Fab, $1M cheaper, better pre-season form, may play in the hole at the start and Spain knocked out in group stages of world cup.

The defender is a little light and you are relying on WBA clean sheets a lot. Can't fault the rest of the team...but clearly it comes at a price with your defence. I'd like to see at least one defender from Che, ManU, ManC, Arsenal there...perhaps consider eriksen/siggy for one of your heavy hitting mids to free up money.

I don't mind the WBA goalie every week tactic - I'm not adopting it personally but there's definitely a case for suggesting the extra 0.5 is better spent elsewhere as save points close the gap where clean sheets disappear.

Not sure I'm sold on Bojan sufficiently to include him in a 3-4-3 without much back up but I know there are some who have a lot of faith in him. Defence is definitely of the uber variety but if the rotation works then it's all good and I guess that's the price you pay for having a killer midfield and 2 premium strikers.

Not a million miles away from my current draft (which I may submit for this treatment later in the week!) so all in all I quite approve 🙂

Bojan is definitely a punt, I was looking at Frazer Campbell also as an alternate option.

So long as my rotatable defenders play, there is a chance of a clean sheet, that's about my expectation for them. I think midfield will again be key, and prefer my resources going in MID/ATT.

Refreshingly different with Lamela, Barkley, Shelvey, Diouf...

I'm a massive fan of Barkley in real life but I'm yet to be convinced of his FPL worth, especially with tricky early fixtures and his price hike this season - could be inspired though.

Don't let Doosra see you with Diouf - he's convinced he'll play second fiddle to Crouch 🙂

Above all else I like your balance - a mix of price brackets in every position means you should be able to get on board any early bandwagons with ease.

Hey guys, any help or tinkering with this would really be appreciated...

    Krul / Myhill

Felipe Luis / Evans / Cameron / Mariappa / Wisdom

    Fàbregas / Mata / Ramsey / Sigurdsson / Albrighton

Rooney / Dzeko / Diego Costa

    - Not sure on Defence: DDG + Ferdinand/Coloccinni or Krul + Evans
    - Dzeko / Jovetic?
    - Fab + Ramsey OR Hazard + Eriksen

      - I prefer Krul + Evans personally. Krul will beat DDG for save points and Evans carries a goal threat that Colo/Rio don't have.

      - Dzeko for me, Jovetic is a classy player and could have a breakout season but for all his detractors Dzeko is a reliable source of goals every season.

      - Tough one. I think Fabregas and Ramsey just, if only because Hazard is still ramping up after a tough summer.

I'd be concerned about your defence. Arguably none are nailed on apart from Evans, this represents a massive risk going into the season. I think selling a few of those defenders for absolute certain starters would be the way to go. Its ok to have one or two slight risks but too many is not good.

I think your attack is close to perfect however, don't change anything. I wouldn't get Jovetic at this stage, he's similar to Aguero and I'd expect the Argentine to get his spot back when he returns, IMO Dzeko's style lends him to being the out and out striker leading the line (helped by the fact Negredo is out injured). Similarly I think Fab + Ramsey is a better bet than Hazard (form?) and Eriksen (nailed on?).

      Overall, completely re-work your defence.

There's a few punts in there - perhaps a few too many. Luis, Lamela and Jovetic could all come off but if a couple fail to get regular starts, your early transfers are tied up and you won't be able to react to form or emerging bargains. I'd be wary and perhaps cut one of those risks back.

Just tweaked mine again, now convinced I need triple Utd and Shaw's game time is too worrying in the 3-5-2 system to justify the 6.0m price. So, RVP Howard Shaw Snodgrass > Rooney DDG Davies Mata leaves me with this..

    DDG
    Debuchy Luis Davies
    Nasri Eriksen Ramsey Mata Siggy
    Rooney(c) Costa

    Bobby Z Wisdom Yun

I feel this leaves me with solid top five cover at the back. I think Luis and Davies will play most games as the managers have only just brought them in. Azpi might nick a few, but I think he'll get most starts at RB this year and Terry will suffer a little.

LVG loves Rooney so he's nailed, and Costa has already started well and has very little competition for his place compared to the Chels mids. I see 40 league goals of those strikers.

Having Nasri negates any of the old Dzeko rotation nonsense, although the option is still there with a switch to 3-4-3. Only flaw is lack of Liverpool, again I may swap Mata for Sterling or Bony if he get's his move. We'll see. But with 0.5m lee-way for each I can take my time over the first two game weeks.

Very happy, I think I'm done!

Not seeing the whole Davies is nailed thing, personally. Rose is at least a match for him and was already established, injuries aside.

Nasri only negate the city striker conundrum if he matches their scoring. I wouldn't bank on it.

3-4-3 always wins out in the end.

strong team, but i'd rather put nasri on the bench as a cheap 5th (N'Zogbia 😀 ) and upgrade BZ to Jovetic.

Looks strong - Manonne slight risk as we're not sure on Poyet's intentions and you don't want to make an early keeper transfer. Wisdom's long-term fortunes depends on these new Baggies full-back bids but he should be okay for a few GW's given their injuries. Like the midfield although not completey sold on Barkley, that's your downgrade if you need funds elsewhere.

I think Fletcher is your weak link there. Also Sturridge and Rooney is good but is a combination I found came with limits elsewhere. Worth a thought ditching Sturridge and going for Sterling and another striker as you suggest.

Yeah, I think Sturridge to Sterling initially could work, I'm leaning that way now.

        A) Perhaps Mata initially, Ramsey long-term.
        B) Siggy and Sturridge long-term but Sterling & Bony may well work out more profitable in the early GW's given Sturridge's lack of pre-season and Sterling's form.
