With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the  Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please encourage those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial lineups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

First up, I’ve decided to post my current lineup. I’ve opted for a squad that has a spread of money across the positions, with two rotating goalkeepers and a strong focus on the four to five teams I think are most likely to profit from goals and clean sheets. It also shows a strong bias towards those teams with favourable early fixtures and, hopefully, it’s set up to be flexible enough to make quick early repairs.

Guzan (Krul)

Terry Evans NTaylor (Wisdom, Duff)

Ramsey Hazard Mata Henderson (Albrighton)

Rooney Adebayor Dzeko

0.5m in the bank

My main deliberation surrounds whether to go with Diego Costa up front and and an 8.5 midfielder, probably Rahaeem Sterling, instead of my current selection of Emmanuel Adebayor and Eden Hazard. That gives me a Gameweek 2 option to possibly swap one of Jordan Henderson or Sterling for Gylfi Sigurdsson, although I’m happy to keep both those Liverpool midfielders if a transfer is urgently required elsewhere. I do feel that Hazard will be the top source of Chelsea points, however.

Alternatively, I could stick with Hazard and a 9.0 striker. Of this group, the main options seem to be Romelu Lukaku and Adebayor. This also gives me flexibility to hop on any emerging strikers who show promise for 8.5 or less. As you can see, I’m currently favouring this option.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMT’s throughout the day on this article.

Did my reply not post? I'll try again...

I wouldn't have Bruce and Wisdom in the same team, neither is guaranteed game time which puts a lot of strain on your other three defenders. If you have to have a 4.0 defender I'd stick with Wisdom.

I have Bojan in my team too but I'm really not sure about him. I'm tempted to play 3-5-2 and bench him some weeks, but with Albrighton in your midfield you can't really do that with Leicester's opening fixtures.

I'd personally downgrade Sanchez to free up funds, If you have to have Arsenal midfield cover I'd choose Ramsey, although I'd staying clear of Arsenal for the first few weeks.

Ah okay, I've read it now.

That's fair enough if you view it that way. My only suggestion would be downgrading Sanchez to Ramsey, because I can't personally see Sanchez outscoring him by much if at all, and then upgrading Albrighton to a 6.0 like Siggy, the favourite around here, or Henderson. That way you can consider playing 3-5-2 and not have to worry about Bojan.

That option is swirling around my head.

However; Wenger has already said Sanchez may start up front. IF he does, and starts smashing the goals in, his price will rocket. Thus leaving him unobtainable.

Easier to downgrade to Ramsey after 5 weeks than upgrade right?

Cameron and Mariappa are not nailed on starters

Snod and Rodwell? I think Henderson and Siggy are better options at 6.0

Jovetic for the short run? Good.. but Man City openers are very hard

Surely Cameron is and I would have that Mariappa is too.

What's wrong with Snodgrass? He's perfect for the BPS system as he creates chances with crosses and assists as well as scores. And Rodwell as Sunderland will be nailed on and will hopefully improve.

Jovetic has been killing pre-season and will surely do the same. Man City is Man City, they should be fine.

    Begovic (Krul)
    Skrtel, Evans, Cahill (Bruce, Dummett)
    Nasri, Eriksen, Siggy, Ramsey, (Albrighton)
    Costa, Remy, Rooney (c)

Any suggestions? Ideally wanted Lamela in there too for a differential, but might wait and see and swap for Eriksen if he starts well. Spurs fan but not sure I can handle the gamble!

Mata seems like a must in midfield if you ask me. Great fixtures, good preseason form, a new manager that seems to have really galvanised the team and pretty cheap considering how much he was last year. I think he's better than Ramey, for the price, and that's coming from an Arsenal fan.

Not sure about Skrtel, Liverpool are unlikely to rake in the clean sheets and it's risky gambling on headed goals. Maybe considering downgrading him.

Also having both Bruce and Dummett, neither of who are guaranteed game time, may not be the best idea as it puts a lot of pressure on your other three defenders. Wisdom is a better shout than those two but even then none of these 4.0 defenders are nailed-on.

Finally, there's debate about whether or not Albrighton in nailed-on, and with as many people choosing him as there are it's very possible he'll drop in price. May want to play it safe with a nailed-on 4.5 like Wanyama, who is unlikely to score more than 2 pts in a game but definitely won't cause your team to depreciate in value.

I've been thinking about this kind of defence line up, what do you guys think?

Filipe Luis (6mil) hes like my main guy, I want him to play every week and stay put.

Switching Defenders, teams which rotate well, and will play 1 out each pair depending on fixtures and home away games.

I want to go as cheap as possible here, maybe 4.5, 4.5, and then 4.5, 4.

do you guys think this is doable? I would love the funds to spend elsewhere. or should I be upping to 5.0,4.5 per pair?

I would not pick Lovren or Bojan in a team so that makes it hard.

Too much money in all these defences for my liking, i personally like the idea of a 6.0 mil, a 5 mil, 2 4.5's and a 4.0. will allow you to upgrade bojan to a giroud / dzeko / bony

I had my worst fantasy run ever last season, like a lot of people because I was too late chasing bandwagons and ended up trying to be clever (pretty sure there was an early season Dwight Gayle captaincy moment as well). This is what I have so far, but that Charlie Austin pick upfront just looks _bad_ to me, and the defence is a case of "one and hope". Anything obvious I can do?

    GKs: Begovic, Krul

Defs: Davies (Hull), Jones (Man Utd), Baines, Coloccini, Clyne

Mids: Hazard, Mata, Henderson, Sigurdson, Puncheon,

    Atts: Rooney, Lukaku, Austin

Got to be Rooney. Think it will be him for the majority of the first 8 gameweeks. My thinking is that once some form becomes clear, I'll be able to move some funds around.

The other option is swapping Giroud and Dzeko for Costa +£6.5 forward. I was thinking maybe to go for Bojan if I do this and then have an etxra £1 million, but surely Giroud and Dzeko will get better returns than Costa + Bojan?

I must be hitting treble figures in transfers now, what do you guys think of this:

    Bego

    Caulker Davies (spurs) Evans

    Mata Sterling Siggy Ramsey

    Costa Rooney (c) Lukaku

    Subs: Gilks, Bruce, Widsom, Wanyama

.5 ITB, trying to avoid risks as much as possible. Young seems to be getting gametime but risky, same with Dzeko and Jovetic. Think Sanchez may take a month to settle, if he starting through the middle he is guaranteed top scoring mid imo..

    Defence too weak?

Bruce is a risk and also, people haven't really been saying this much, but Ben Davies is a massive risk too.

Ramsey had a great run of form last year, but there are players with kinder fixtures early on. I'm going to wait and see for Ramsey to build on last year before investing.

        What are the template keepers?

Congratulations by the way on the OT game. Which fantasy game did you win the prize on? McD?

Well the keeper of choice seems to be DDG/4.0 but you already have that covered with Shaw. I personally would prefer Begovic/4.0 or Speroni/4.0 to Mannone/Krul, for a number of reasons. Newc and Sunderland do not actually rotate very well in terms of ease of fixtures. Mannone isn't nailed on with Panti around, and apparently he has picked up a bug, which won't help his cause:

          http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/sunderlands-vito-mannone-travel-separately-7554911

Also, Newcastle have been nothing short of shockingly bad in pre season in defence, so I am staying away from their defence altogether.

Cheers, I won it on a FantaStar fantasy game. I almost came top 10 in MacD's but slumped in the last gameweek and ended up winning nothing.

Thanks alot. I completely forgot about Newcastle's preseason - would be best to steer away.

I also came pretty close in McDonalds - missed out due to the lateness in me adopting a 5 man defence and picking differentials who didn't really fire while the obvious picks did.

Going for Hazard and Sanchez has dented your defence quite a bit, but this is a ballsy strategy that i'm liking. Think i'm gonna stick to having at least one chelsea defender, although props to you for this team!

they got to the final, and he was injured on and off throughout the tournament. Before the tournament [and over the course of last season] he was injured on and off again. My bet is that he will be nursed back to health softly and slowly.

Once he is fully fit he will be devastating. That will take time and in the meanwhile I'd imagine Pellegrini will stick to a Dzeko / Silva or Dzeko / Jovetic combination up top.

seems to be either DDG and a 4.0 or a rotation of someone like krul / mannoone.

How can I improve this team? Particularly the mess on defense:

    Begovic (Krul)
Kolarov - Evans - Bardsley (van Aaanholt) (Wisdom)
Mata - Fabregas- Ramsey - Hoilett (Siggy)
    Costa - Rooney - Jelavic

I would like to avoid owning three Man United and Chelsea Players as well. I have .5 in the bank and would like to spend 25.5 Total on Defense if I keep the same front line. However, I could spend more if I downgraded Costa but for whom?

Instead of Kolarov I could go with Felipe Luis. I can then downgrade Costa for Lukaku and upgrade Jelavic to Giroud. Also downgrade Bardsley to Cameron or another 4.5 priced defender.

I just cant seem to land on a team, and need advice. Here is the current look:

    Foster/Guzan (for the rotation)
    Lovren Evans Debuchy (wisdom Vlaar)
    Hazard Mata Siggy Eriksen (Albrighton)
    Rooney DC Pelle

    Please RMT

theres definitely better picks than Lovren.

Ward, Clyne, B.davies, Caulker... I would expect all of these to outscore him over the first 6-8 GW's

Very similar to mine, only I have Jovetic instead of Pelle.

Im not too sold on Lovren, Rodgers' team is a bit lacking in defence.

Why not Stoke or Spurs defenders?

Hi friends, Please share your views on this team :

    Begovic (Krul)
    Terry - Debuchy - Simpson QPR(Chester, Mariappa)
Fabregas - Tadic - Eriksen- Sterling (Marney)
    Dzeko - Rooney(c) - Bony

    Alternatives I'm considering:

    1) Debuchy OUT and Phil Jones IN
    2) Tadic OUT de Jong IN and Sterling OUT Mata IN
    3) Bony OUT Giroud IN

    🙂

I would appreciate a RMT if you have a moment.

I know that attacking rotations are a bit blah, but it's rotates through 3-4-3/3-5-2:

    De Gea | 4M
    Luis | Vertonghen | Koscielny | 4M | 4M
    Fabregas | Mata | Ramsey | Eriksen | Hoilett
    Rooney | Dzeko | Bojan
