With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the  Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please encourage those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial lineups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

First up, I’ve decided to post my current lineup. I’ve opted for a squad that has a spread of money across the positions, with two rotating goalkeepers and a strong focus on the four to five teams I think are most likely to profit from goals and clean sheets. It also shows a strong bias towards those teams with favourable early fixtures and, hopefully, it’s set up to be flexible enough to make quick early repairs.

Guzan (Krul)

Terry Evans NTaylor (Wisdom, Duff)

Ramsey Hazard Mata Henderson (Albrighton)

Rooney Adebayor Dzeko

0.5m in the bank

My main deliberation surrounds whether to go with Diego Costa up front and and an 8.5 midfielder, probably Rahaeem Sterling, instead of my current selection of Emmanuel Adebayor and Eden Hazard. That gives me a Gameweek 2 option to possibly swap one of Jordan Henderson or Sterling for Gylfi Sigurdsson, although I’m happy to keep both those Liverpool midfielders if a transfer is urgently required elsewhere. I do feel that Hazard will be the top source of Chelsea points, however.

Alternatively, I could stick with Hazard and a 9.0 striker. Of this group, the main options seem to be Romelu Lukaku and Adebayor. This also gives me flexibility to hop on any emerging strikers who show promise for 8.5 or less. As you can see, I’m currently favouring this option.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMT’s throughout the day on this article.

Hi friends, Please share your views on this team :

    Begovic (Krul)
    Terry - Debuchy - Simpson QPR(Chester, Mariappa)
Fabregas - Tadic - Eriksen- Sterling (Marney)
    Dzeko - Rooney(c) - Bony

    Alternatives I'm considering:

    1) Debuchy OUT and Phil Jones IN
    2) Tadic OUT de Jong IN and Sterling OUT Mata IN
    3) Bony OUT Giroud IN

    🙂

I would appreciate a RMT if you have a moment.

I know that attacking rotations are a bit blah, but it's rotates through 3-4-3/3-5-2:

    De Gea | 4M
    Luis | Vertonghen | Koscielny | 4M | 4M
    Fabregas | Mata | Ramsey | Eriksen | Hoilett
    Rooney | Dzeko | Bojan

Hi people, to help you choose your defence, I've worked out the chance of a clean sheet for every game in the first 3 GWs based on bookies odds. (Purely for convenience, I used SkyBet for GW1 and then BetBright is the only firm giving odds on GWs 2 & 3).

Theres a lot of information here - it may be of use to some people, if it isn't then by all means ignore, but lets be honest, the bookies are a bit better at predicting this kind of thing than we are 🙂

    • The number written next to each team is the % chance that they will keep a clean sheet
    • Odds are normally biased towards the house by around 8% of the % chance stated, which has NOT been taken into account, so the true values are higher than the ones here e.g. if it says 50% here, the real chance is closer to 54%

      Thoroughly iffy midfield

      Krul > 4.0
      Clyne or Caulker > 4.0
Mirallas > 9.0 (Ramsey, Mata, Fabregas)

I don't like Bojan at all, but I seem to be in something of a minority judging by all the RMTs he appears in

I've updated my team, Is it better to be a hipster with Flanagan over a 6.0 defender or Evans, with Arnautovic upgraded to Lamela, or just revert to what I had? Bear in mind Liverpools tough run at the start, I think they'll get more Clean Sheets, but for the price and attacking potential he seems a fine replacement for said 6.0 defender or Evans.

It's all good until we arrive at Faurlin and Albrighton. Waste of an attacking slot. I think you need to upgrade one to a player who will score more than 2pts. Luis is probably okay, although I have a feeling Azpil is more secure.

I have tried to create a team where everyone is a player - no bench fodder. I will attempt to change this over the early part of the season by selling off the dross once I know who's going to nail down a spot. The world cup has been the deciding factor in this as some players will remain rested for a week or two or three in the opening part of the season.

    Courtois (Elliot)

    Debuchy, Sagna, Clyne, Mariappa, Ferdinand

    Mata, Ramsey, Sigurdsson, Fabregas, Young

    Rooney, Bojan, Costa

Couple of things I'm not sure about. Will Sagna and Courtois nail down a spot? The rest I'm quite happy about. It's a strong core of players with a couple of punts, and players that can cover those punts (and possible rotations). Any help or comments appreciated.

Valencia is a bit one dimensional but Raphael may start. Young seems to have adopted LVG's philosophy very well so I wouldn't be surprised to see him in that position early on as United have easier fixtures. Thats my limited thinking 🙂

    DDG Gilks
    Pieters Ward Yun Luis N.Taylor
    Mata Sterling Silva Ramsey Sigurdsson
    Rooney Jovetic Bojan

Plan is to rotate Pieters/Taylor Yun/Ward and Siggy/Bojan. The forward line is risky which could cost me later on when I have to transfer in an expensive striker (a la Costa/Sturridge).

Looks solid if you have faith in Austin. Will he keep pens over Remy?

Also, is the Stoke defence good enough to play Begovic every game, even with his fixtures?

I'm hoping Remy heads off at some point this summer and leaves the pens with Austin.

As for Begovic, i'm pretty confident in playing him every week. Even if they do concede, he'll get save points and is unlikely to get minus points for goals conceded, Stoke conceded 2 or more goals just 10 times last season, the same amount as City & Everton.

I suppose I know what the suggestions will be. (ings, wisdom) Toyed around a lot with the few available spots. Basically I've decided man united defence is essential. Conceding two penalties and 1 wonder goal from the half way line against real madrid, roma, liverpool is very promising, especially when the penaltes were conceded against bale and sterling. United look as tight as holland were, they also didn't concede. Maybe Van Gaal will change the formation when Januzaj comes back into the team. So need evans from the start, with 0.5m available to get Shaw. Who knows if he'll start over young though ?

    mannone/myhill
    evans terry rosenior wisdom moore
    mata ramsey sanchez siggurdson yaya
    rooney ings zamora

I consider sanchez a forward and I'm convinced he'll play up front soon. I can do yaya, ings to fabregas dzeko, or eriksen lukaku.

It does ! I don't usually buy chelsea players except defenders, unsure about mourinho's style. I don't know how Fabregas will do really. And dzeko, he's someone who is probably nailed on now and stats wise is the most efficient forward in the league, but like Giroud i think that's because of the players behind him rather than his own brilliance. Picking players based on stats rather than how i really think how good they are never worked for me in the past...I think Ings might suffer from being in Burnley, but at home to chelsea, like cardiff against city last season, he might be worth it. If he gets maybe 13 goals 4 assists for the season that might be good.

I read somewhere that mourinho would be happy to play fabs in the hole or as a deeper lying playmaker. I have a feeling that he'll play in the hole for the first few games at least unitl oscar etc are fit

    Hey guys, thoughts on this:

    Krul/Foster
    Cameron/Chester/Ferdinand/Clyne/Taylor
    Siggy/Fabregas/Silva/Ramsey/Eriksen
    Rooney/Lukaku/Pelle

    or

    Krul/Foster
    Cameron/Chester/Ferdinand/Clyne/Taylor
    Siggy/Albrighton/Silva/Sanchez/Eriksen
    Rooney/Lukaku/D.Costa

Going with or without Sanchez is one of the toughest decisions. And one I'm struggling with.

In this case though, the second team is far better balanced. The first one gives a benching headache!

p.s. highlighting which players have changed will be more useful next time 🙂

Like it a lot. Keep an eye on Sturridge fitness.
Newcastle have signed a lot of attacking players, which has put me off De Jong. He may be injured too.

Maybe swap Wisdom for another 4.0, Duff or Moore as you have Foster.

Good feedback, thanks man. Wisdom has competition for the RB spot now that Gamboa joined WBA. I'll keep an eye on for any nailed on 4.0s.

I also want to get in Tadic instead of De Jong, since Tadic is on all set pieces and has great fixtures.

    How's this looking guys?

    De Gea
    Cahill - Caulker - Huth
    Hazard - Sanchez - Mata - Albrighton
    Rooney (c) - Dzeko - Austin

    Hamer - Siggy - Chester - NTaylor

-Albrighton mostly bench fodder but starting him due to Siggy being at Old Trafford
-Caulker and Chester seem to rotate well
-Huth and NTaylor seem to rotate well
