The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next Fantasy Premier League RMT contender is Alex Bowers, the winner of the Ultimate Fantasy Premier League Beta version 2013/14.

Alex is not thrilled about having Gylfi Sigurdsson on the bench for the first Gameweek so he is open to alternative suggestions for his fifth midfield slot. He is adopting a wait-and-see aproach regarding Chelsea midfielders, Arsenal and Manchester City. Is he right to wait?

      Weak options on the bench I feel should it come to it. I'm not all that sure Jovetic will be worth it in the long scheme of things.

      Similar to how mine was before. Alot of punts in that team... What if fletcher doesn't score the goals? and costa is new to the prem.. then you rely on rooney soley for your goals... and midfield doesn't allow for a 5-man midfield line-up with any kind of confidence.

      I'd drop Costa for Giroud who you can swap for Lukaku if need be. Would free up some cash to improve your midfield. Upgrade sig to Sterling/Eriksen/Oscar

    Anyone got an idea on Wisdom and his chances of starting each game?

    Bojan is a good punt because he has scored like 3 in 3 in pre-season. Also, if it doesn't work out you have the option of switching over to Fletcher for the same price. Just need to have a 5th midfielder who plays incase they both mis-fire. Stokes fixtures allow someone to score alot. If not Bojan who?

      Giroud. Basically their only foward, (maybe you could call Sanchez a foward) and sanogo won't be much a treat imo. Jovetic is against dzecko, aguero, and negredo. But Manuel does play two up front so your call

    I'm concerned I don't have any attacking Chelsea or Man City players, but none of the options excite me very much, apart from Jovetic, and his security of starts is unreliable. Otherwise - Aguero and Silva are perennially injured, Yaya Toure is too expensive. As for Chelsea, I'm in the 'wait and see' camp on Diego Costa, and their midfield options are all questionable - Hazard has not been in good form, Fabregas may be asked to play too deep a role to score many points, Oscar and Willian are inconsistent, Schurrle is being rested after the world cup...

        Coutinho could become Sterling which frees up .5 to maybe play with. I would then look to upgrade Jovetic.

        B) As it doesnt make sense in my mind to have both Eriksen and Lamela. Could be extremely detrimental to your chances of success.

      Also like your mids, but be wary on Fab, will be great if playing in the "10" role but I reckon he will play deep with Matic
