The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Alex is not thrilled about having Gylfi Sigurdsson on the bench for the first Gameweek so he is open to alternative suggestions for his fifth midfield slot. He is adopting a wait-and-see aproach regarding Chelsea midfielders, Arsenal and Manchester City. Is he right to wait?

          No unfortunately. There are a few that are close such as Wisdom, Duff, Hutton, Bruce and Moore. However they all carry slight risk.

      Sch has a horrid first few fixtures while Mannone isn't assured of the start. Perhaps change keepers. Downgrade Ince who is isn't assured starts and free up £ for better GK? Otherwise looking v.good.

      Maybe go Begovic and a 4.0 keeper, take out Shawcross for a nailed-on 4.5 defender
      If you're going 3-4-3 then consider a 4.5 midfielder and upgrade one of Siggy, Ince or Bojan

    Isgrove - fair to say he's a rotation risk with the return of Ramirez? Looking around for 4.5m to test out a new team and Im coming up short. May also consider 2x 5m and rotate, but thats not ideal either.

    Likeing the balance but considering Costa > Sturrudge and downgrading my 5.5 defender to a 4.5 defender
    Also is Naughton nailed for the first few GW's

      It's Ok and fairly solid, but you're heavy in DEF and light in mid. I'd downgrade Shawcross to a 4.0, and upgrade on of the cheap mids.

      Pretty good - love the strikers

      As an Evertonian don't get barkley, Martinez will be a but cautious post World Cup and anyway his fpl return isn't great.

      Schurrle just back from World Cup, probs won't play and Albrighton injured.

      So, strikers and defence good just re shuffle the mid a bit

        Not keen at all, I'm afraid.

        -Dawson/Jones/Cameron all not nailed.

        -Sess blows hot and cold for a weak side.

        -Not sure on the goalkeepers either. I would not want to rely on Krul every week.

    In his usual bullish attitude Donkey United manager Marty McFarty has struck out at the Premier League for the way have have handled the start of this season “To have the first game of the new season whilst I am tripping the light fantastic in a field at Greenman Festival is completely irresponsible”. Risking the wrath of the PL further McFarty continued “to pick my team for the season 4 days before the kick off puts my team at huge risk to injury, transfer and selection news".

    Regardless McFarty has submitted the following team with, any final changes needed by the end of the day. “Im happy with my selection but any assistance whatsoever would be greatly appreciated” said the handsome, intelligent and hilariously funny 32 year old.

    I'm pretty satisfied cause I feel this squad can be rotated to a 3-5-2 or a 4-4-2 if necessary. Do you feel I could improve in any way?

      I like it. My preference would be to get a cheaper mid than henderson and use the cash to upgrade a defender. Siggy can play every week as can bojan. Also look at fletcher in that price range.

      I think it's really solid - the only thing I'd look at is whether there are better defensive options at 5.0 than Caulker - maybe Ward or STO def?
