The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Alex is not thrilled about having Gylfi Sigurdsson on the bench for the first Gameweek so he is open to alternative suggestions for his fifth midfield slot. He is adopting a wait-and-see aproach regarding Chelsea midfielders, Arsenal and Manchester City. Is he right to wait?

      Excellent midfield - your defence is a bit weak though. Maybe downgrade one MF to free up a bit more money?

      Mid looks great. Lose Costa to free up some cash in def. Maybe Dzeko, Giroud or Jovetic. Bojan even.

    What do you think of this team?

    I'm concerned I don't have any attacking Chelsea or Man City players, but none of the options excite me very much, apart from Jovetic, and his security of starts is unreliable. Otherwise - Aguero and Silva are perennially injured, Yaya Toure is too expensive. As for Chelsea, I'm in the 'wait and see' camp on Diego Costa, and their midfield options are all questionable - Hazard has not been in good form, Fabregas may be asked to play too deep a role to score many points, Oscar and Willian are inconsistent, Schurrle is being rested after the world cup...

          No unfortunately. There are a few that are close such as Wisdom, Duff, Hutton, Bruce and Moore. However they all carry slight risk.

      Sch has a horrid first few fixtures while Mannone isn't assured of the start. Perhaps change keepers. Downgrade Ince who is isn't assured starts and free up £ for better GK? Otherwise looking v.good.

      Maybe go Begovic and a 4.0 keeper, take out Shawcross for a nailed-on 4.5 defender
      If you're going 3-4-3 then consider a 4.5 midfielder and upgrade one of Siggy, Ince or Bojan

    Isgrove - fair to say he's a rotation risk with the return of Ramirez? Looking around for 4.5m to test out a new team and Im coming up short. May also consider 2x 5m and rotate, but thats not ideal either.

      It's Ok and fairly solid, but you're heavy in DEF and light in mid. I'd downgrade Shawcross to a 4.0, and upgrade on of the cheap mids.
