i'd classify a punt has someone who flopped last season (lamela, soldado, sigurdsson, jovetic, etc..) or as someone who is new to the league and is yet to prove themselves in the prem (sanchez, costa, bojan, pelle, gomis). although we know the likes of sanchez and costa are quality players, i would personally still classify them as a punt until they can return a stream of consistent scores. also, all promoted players are punts.

Open Controlsin some regards i agree with you. but a player like baines has proven himself against every other team in the league, plus the fact he's on set pieces means he i not a punt. great choice in my opinion, an early goal and his price rises even more, meaning he's even harder to bring in.

I have been looking at budget strikers and in the end i've decided on Fletcher because he's a proven quantity that does well when healthy and its an easy swap if someone else in that price range starts firing. And as an added plus, Sunderland actually have some decent fixtures to start the season

I really don't know which one to get because Walker is injured. Vert is "unfit"/might leave any day. Davies and Rose are fighting for berths. Same for Kaboul/Chiriches.
