With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

A Chelsea defender is a must for Evs, should he downgrade Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and get a 6m Chelsea defender or downgrade Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez to his team mate Aaron Ramsey to give himself 6.5m to spend.

Recently Tottenham’s Ben Davies had been ousted from his team, as again uncertainty with Danny Rose continues. Which is the best route into the Tottenham defence? Stevan Jovetic is a short term punt. Who should he replace him with should he fail to cement a place in Manchester City’s starting XI?

      Your defence is ridiculously cheap. You'll be lucky if you get 1 playing. CHambers and Naughton are most likely, but only temporarily until other players return to fitness.

      Attack is too expensive.

        moore is nailed on , wisdom too until gomboa gets his work permit and recovers his injury , bruce played vs trencin and he is trusted by steve bruce but i'm not certain 100% abt him

    Advice greatly appreciated;

    Foster - Krul

    Ward - Moore - Caulker - Rosenior - Debuchy

    Hazard - Mata - Ramsey - Sigurdsson - Lamela

    Dzeko - Rooney - Bojan

    Biggest issue for me is defence - I'm happy with Liam Moore, had him from the first draft and at 4m he's in, but I can't decide on the rest. Is Debuchy the best of the 5.5m? - Lovren doesn't have the best fixtures.

    Could downgrade one of the 5m and upgrade Debuchy to a 6m - thinking Mangala.

    Everyone says Chelsea defence is essential - but no one knows who's starting!

    My head hurts.

      I would downgrade one of your mid for a better defender - you have 5 good players in mid but one will be benched every week

        Planning to rotate Sigurdsson and Bojan depending on fixtures/form so likely will be playing all 5 from GW2.

        I would like to put the defence together with the budget of £24.5m - who in your opinion is the best defender to have in the 6.5-6 bracket?

          Im in the Siggy/Bojan rotation club. My difference is Lamela. Instead i have Henderson allowing a bit more cash for the backline.

            Henderson could do well this year.

            He got forward well in the Dortmund game, which is the only preseason Liverpool game I have watched to be fair.

        True - always selections risks at the start of the season though.

        I would say he has as much chance of starting as, say, Luis or Ivanovic.

        Who would you recommend instead?

    RMT please

    I have two main concerns:

    Too heavy on the defense?
    Am I better off getting swapping sigg/hendo for one good, nailed on midfielder and one for the bench?

      Yeah your defence is quite heavy. I'm not sure Vertonghen is worth it myself, his defensive team mates are so much cheaper even though they aren't nailed on. I'd wait and see on Spurs defence.

      A downgrade there frees up options elsewhere. Consider replacing Mannone who isn't nailed on. Not sure about Nasri and Bojan either.

      I depends whether you'll easily be able to choose one of Sig/Hendo/Bojan for the bench each week. I don't get the Henderson love, do we really think he's going to score points given Liverpool's other attacking assets?

      I like it but have doubts over Tadic, El Ahmadi and Bojan. Consider downgrading Hazard to Fabregas and Caulker and/or Ward to cheaper alternatives. The extra cash could be useful in upgrading those 3 attackers.

    Mata - Ramsey - Eriksen - Young (Shelvey)
    Rooney - Sturridge - Bojan

    I intend to play with 2 heavy-hitting defenders (Baines and Kolarov, thinking about Vertonghen when he is nailed on).
    PvA for gw1, Clyne for gw2.
    Rotate Bojan and Shelvey (or Young if necessary)
    And I'm trying to avoid Chelsea players (yes, I know this will hurt me).

    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

        I'll go for tripple up with united, so then I need De Gea.

        I would like to use a nice rotation with sigggy and costa.

        3-5-2/3-4-3 switch.

        Ramsey is awesome, but I hope that Fab will be a big hit 🙂

      Hey you've managed to get in the top 3 strikers and still have a good balanced team. I guess no Mata has helped. How about Young over Hendo? I like the Krul/Elliot punt too. Doing the same.

        Thanks very much. Very tempted, think he'll have a good season. My only worry is whether or not he will be rotated when Markovic and Lallana are fit again. How does Ward->Kelly and Eriksen->Sterling seem? If Kelly's move to Palace goes through, will he be nailed on is the question.

      If you do go w/ DDG then drop krul to a 4.0, you'll play DDG every game anyway

      Villa will struggle this season.

      This team has too much money on the bench. No need for Krul with DDG.

      Soton are signing a CB so Yoshida is not nailed on.

      Hmm, tough one. Rodwell could be great, but until he's had half a season fit then he's a wasted transfer waiting to happen. Mata is a far better option than Young - have you considered Hoilett, Brady or Ward-Prowse?

    ~Terry is the best pick whereas Luis is nailed on too at 6.0 if you trust me.
    ~Wisdom doesn't attracts me much yet & Bruce is trouble waiting to happen every week,with 0.5 more you'll have Chester with Hull's lovely home fixtures.
    ~Wanyama will score max 3 pts.
    ~ I'd completely avoid Jovetic.

      Bruce might not play - Wisdom for same price has more chance to play.
      Lovren - good value there, but I don't see Pool doing many CS at the start of the season considering the fixture
      Kaboul - I just don't like him.
      No idea who Isgrove is or if he is nailed on
      Rest seems perfect.

    OK so Ive 8 players up front but if one doesnt perform then he is downgraded. Means I wont miss out on key players if they perform GW1.

        Thxs. Swans are all over the place and are aiming to sign 2 more defenders. Steering clear of them. Clyne is an awesome wing back and Saints will do better than people expect and their fixtures are great.

    2. Jones, Siggy, Mutch (Team prediction 319.xx)

    Option #1:
    No real option other than 3-4-3, subs will be 4.0, 4.0, 4.5
    Liverpool

    Option #2:
    Gives me the option to play, 3-4-3, 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 3-5-2 etc.
    No Liverpool

    I have a few dilemnas. I have 1 mil in the bank. I want to get that up to 4mil allowing for Aguero's return to fitness in the next few weeks and transfer him in for Jovetic. I could transfer out Costa and go for the cheap Bojan or Ings. But I have a feeling that Costa will do well. I have gone for a pretty cheap midfield, gambling for Young over Mata. Likewise with my defence, since I've got Naughton in cos of Walker's injury, meaning I'll have to upgrade him relatively soon aswell.
