And we’re underway. All our deadlines have passed and the season is here. It all starts at Old Trafford.

Normally the home of trophies and glory, this season United will host teams bereft of silverware but still buoyant, thanks to the Louis van Gaal revolution.

There’s room for optimism. A goal-strewn pre-season accompanied by all the right noises from the manager carries United into an opening day clash with Swansea who are asked to take up the role of sitting ducks. However, the visitors will have other ideas. With the bulk and pace of Wilfried Bony and BafΓ©timbi Gomis at their disposal, Garry Monk’s side have the weapons to disrupt a make-shift United back-line. It’s going to be interesting.

There should be goals. There should be points. Our expectations are raised by the fact that the world and his wife have the armband on Mr Rooney. The familiar tide of joy and frustration is just minutes away.

Fantasy Football and The Dugout Discussion has returned and it feels good. Enjoy the game.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I don't care about fixtures now, that was too bad by united. I don't know why i persisted owning so many united players?

Anyone watch the game care to give a report on:

    A) Young

    B) mata

    Seems both were non-existent

      B) He actually wasn't bad, no one was getting on the end of his deliveries.

Mata's deliveries were all very dangerous.. other than that: nothing.. Young wasn't great because in this sysstem he has to defend a lot (which he did)..

      A) Not that bad in attack, but wasteful.
      B) Anonymous, had virtually no impact on the game apart from his set pieces.

On one hand, gutted I took Siggy out for Mutch at the last minute.

On the other hand, pleased I brought Ramsey in for Mata.

A goal and an assist for Mutch will do me just nicely. In the words of Alan Partridge, taking Siggy out was a negative, and right now I need two positives.
