We’ve filled with a sense of optimism this morning as we prepare to go head-to-head with Paddy for the first time this season. Our hand-picked trio all approach the kick-off in excellent form and each has a plum home fixture to take advantage of tomorrow afternoon.

Our first stop is Old Trafford, where United prepare for their first league fixture under Louis van Gaal. The Red Devils’ shift to a 3-4-1-2 has helped them to a 100% record over the summer and in Wayne Rooney, they have one of the most in-form frontmen around. Heavy favourite in this week’s Captain Poll, the England star netted four times over the close-season and with Paddy offering 13-2 on a Rooney double and United clean sheet, we’re prepared to make this our bet of the week and throw £4 of our tenner their way.

Next up, we take a trip to the Britannia, where Stoke square up to Aston Villa. The Potters lost just three times in front of their own supporters under Mark Hughes last season and the addition of Bojan Krkic has lit up their summer, with the little Spaniard firing three goals in recent friendlies. With Paddy prepared to offer 13-2 on a Bojan goal and Stoke clean sheet against Paul Lambert’s side, we part company with £3 this time.

Our final stake is left for the Emirates encounter between Arsenal and Palace. Paddy are offering 7-2 on Aaron Ramsey to score and the Gunners to grab a clean sheet – given that Arsene Wenger’s side delivered 11 shut-outs at home in 2013/14, we’re giving the Welshman our backing against the managerless Eagles.

Aside from our trio of flutter bets, Paddy are also offering a deal on Arsenal new boy Alexis Sanchez for the season ahead. You can get odds of 4/10 to score over 10 goals in his debut year with the London outfit.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

New Account Offer

Paddy are also offering a great offer for those yet to open an account. Ahead of the season’s kick-off, new customers can get 15/2 on favourites Chelsea to win the Premier League, with Man City at 9/1, Man United 16/1, Arsenal 20/1 and Liverpool 30/1 to clinch the title.

To clarify, the Chelsea, City, United, Arsenal and Liverpool enhanced odds special is limited to a £10 stake, open to new Paddy Power customers only and subject to the terms and conditions specified. New customers can only opt for one of the five offers. The offer is open until 12.45pm on Saturday August 16.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Repost in the hope i'll get a reply here,

Have we had any new developments on the lines of hints/indications from Mou as to which out the 5 defenders will be left out.
Really wanna go with 2 CHE at the back, currently sitting with JT and Luis but not particularly confident with Luis.

Basically we just don't know. Most of the newspapers seem to think Luis will miss out, but some think Ivanovic or Azpi will be cut. JT and Cahill seem pretty nailed on as the centre-back pairing.

I dunno, something one of the football weekly guys said struck, basically they had it probably roy keane is there for when lambert leaves. They'll be near the bottom by christmas, keane takes over, then he can't keep them up, manages them in the championship, tries to bring them up. They've struggled for years and last season showed that it's the premier league strugglers more likely to go down, not the newly promoted.

I reckon Southampton will do the same despite the upheavals - Palace I'm not sure, esp. if MacKay gets the gig - not a defensive master, Malky. But the squad is decent.
