With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

For today’s final RMT discussion we’ve managed to grab Mark’s current lineup…

DeGea, Elliot
Ivanovic, Caulker, C Davies, Debuchy, Hutton
Ramsey, Sterling, Mutch, Siggurdson, Young
Rooney, Costa, Giroud

So Mark has currently ditched the Bojan/Sigurdsson rotation and opted for three big-hitters up front. He’s turned down the option of Jovetic and backed Arsenal with three players, despite a testing opening to their season. He’s spent on goal threat at the back with Ivanovic, Caulker and Curtis Davies, whilst he’s banking on Ashley Young to help compensate for the loss of Juan Mata.

    that team is way to weak in midfield. a defender needs to be downgraded and a mid upgraded

      Yeah, I'm aware there's too much cash in defence but the theory is that it will take time for a few mid bargains to emerge. In the meantime, Caulker and Davies are pretty solid.

        also caulker davies and ivanovic are all premium defenders in their teams. you could shave 1-1.5m by downgrading to the cheaper options for the same coverage

    Chambers - Lovren - Wisdom

    Rooney - Costa - Sturridge

    My feeling is Giroud is likely to thrive off the addition of Sanchez. My only question is whether he will start every game when injuries return (Walcott, Ozil, Chamberlain). Will Sanchez then become the go to one-man striker? perhaps. Sturridge is guarenteed to start every game but the sacrifice means going with Ashley Young who I feel is a short-term average pick. When he loses his place in the team, where do you go? Sure, maybe Shelvey, but not the same impact as Sterling.

    Is it worth trying to cram in 4 strikers then - i.e. Rooney, Costa, Sturridge/Giroud/Dzeko and then Sanchez???

      I think it may be. Chelsea have enough quality anyways (Willian, Schurrle, Oscar) so if Hazard is not 100% might as well give these others a chance.

    Its a strong team Mark I really like it. Solid in defence which will set you up for the season. My main doubt would be whether Mutch will offer err much. Young could lose his spot a few weeks in then you'd have to rely on the begger.

      Yeah, I plan to focus transfers in midfield to pounce on some gems that emerge. The idea was to get the defence and attack settled.
