The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

For today’s final RMT discussion we’ve managed to grab Mark’s current lineup…

DeGea, Elliot
Ivanovic, Caulker, C Davies, Debuchy, Hutton
Ramsey, Sterling, Mutch, Siggurdson, Young
Rooney, Costa, Giroud

So Mark has currently ditched the Bojan/Sigurdsson rotation and opted for three big-hitters up front. He’s turned down the option of Jovetic and backed Arsenal with three players, despite a testing opening to their season. He’s spent on goal threat at the back with Ivanovic, Caulker and Curtis Davies, whilst he’s banking on Ashley Young to help compensate for the loss of Juan Mata.

    thoughts? is giroud getting a start? and who should i choose between bruce, baird and hutton? hutton is a full back but baird has been playing pre season as defensive midfield

        Been saying this this morning. Can you really see it - Giroud starting on the bench on 99 appearances. I think he'll start and get hooked early if Arsenal are coasting. Big if.

      I'm assuming you're only doubling on Arsenal defence for GW1. Personally I'd keep Chambers for GW1 and then change Debuchy now for a Chelsea defender (if affordable). Arsenal don't have great fixtures early on and had a habit last season of shipping loads of goals to the big teams.

      Midfield and Forwards look class. Same front line as me and i like the punt on Johnson.

    What is a good score for RMT? I'm currently at 321. Also trying to decide between Bojan, Mata, Hazard or Sturridge, Erikssen and Mutch. I have Rooney and Costa as my other two forwards.

    Which combination do you guys feel is better?

      Juke could be an excellent punt. Amazing at Bolton and firing them in all pre-season. I'm too scared to pick him to start with but he's one to monitor for sure.

    I am seemingly in the minority who don't think the United team is very good, Chelsea have the much stronger squad.

      I would go with Hazard if not Rooney, that is if you have him. Almost everyone is going to go with Rooney, so if you want to have a differential go with Costa or Hazard, you aren't going to lose in GW1 but you could get a great head start with a Chelsea captain 🙂

      That's a flair move - I think Hernandez will get at least an hour. Wilson off the bench later. RvP back after that, though so you'll need to reserve your transfer - thats always frustrating.
