Gently does it. Granville and I ease ourselves into the season with another thirty-minute bite-size podcast, gradually building up our fitness before we go full tilt next month.

Yes, it’s just the pair of us again, cuddling up in our intimate studio to discuss the events of Gameweek one, whilst casting one eye on the fixtures and events to come this weekend.

We get through the usual array of regulars, with Granville explaining how a wedding and a bout of childcare threatened to ruin his campaign, just as it gets out of the blocks. We reach out to all those Siggy benchers, whilst picking the bones out United’s limp corpse following their opening day defeat. We then chat Fabregas vs Hazard, Ivanovic vs the rest (they’re going to run and run) and sing Ultimate’s praises for helping the previously unloved play their part in our Fantasy seasons.

Pick at the buffet via this link, or dash straight to the main course via the handy player below….

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I can see Young getting an assist, I don't see Bojan doing anything. Hull are solid defensively and a good side. They won't be too tired as they have a bigger squad now (although I admit I have no idea who polayed midweek)

Guys am I being crazy or seeing the light?

I can't choose between dropping Clyne(WBA) or Caulker(tot) to the bench.

My other defenders are Ivanovic(LEI), Chester(STO) and Moore(che).

Basically, I don't see Saints keeping a clean sheet as West Brom are an attacking (if not slightly sub-standard) side and scored twice against Sunderland..

But I don't see QPR keeping a clean sheet at Spurs either, the only difference being I can see Caulker trying just that little bit extra at corners and set plays to stick one in his former employer's net..

    Clyne or Caulker?

Or play both and drop Chester?

I'm saying that with this system you need someone who can create something out of nothing up top, players with speed. That's part of the reason why Chicharito started last weekend. Don't know who would have to leave but that's how this system has worked for Van Gaal.

Was going through the pages and read people saying that Balo signing reduces sterling's appeal. Won't sterling be a better prospect with Studge and Balo to feed and he himself will get better service and more space as defenders will be drawn towards the two strikers.
Also against weaker teams at home, sterling can easily overlap the strikers and make runs into the box or may as well rotate with the strikers upfront.
    Am i missing something?

No ... I tend to agree ... same effect RVP has on Mata!

However, we just don't know how Mario will be used and whether he will impact Sterling's gametime.

Similarities is delivery to the forward though. Mata will assist RVP 5 times if both fit, Sterling will do the same to either Sturridge or Balotelli.

I favour the 343. Although at the moment a 352 is probably best. Its only a matter of time though till we all want 3 strikers and there will be shift towards the standard 343 set tup, it happens every year.

The important thing is to try and be flexible. Its not always easy to switch between the two formations so choosing the best one for a particular period of time is worthwhile. At the moment the 352 is probably the best formation. In a couple of weeks I'd expect it to shift to the norm.

It is, but people are misguided. They expect loads of transfers and price rises as it's two weeks and a chance to get the new signings. In reality though, nobody does anything until the Internationals have finished, nobody rises more than .3, most .2 or less. The new signings are not tried yet and the whole thing becomes a damp squib with people wishing they had saved it.

Yeh it's one of the biggest urban myths there is, people say they made a load of value and over egg how much they actually got. I checked last time and most you could get was about 0.3 in total across your team. Also read somewhere that they had changed the way the prices go up this year which mean players will rise slower than last year.
