With Aguero, Rooney, RVP, Costa and now Balotelli as possible transfers I would kick him 🙂

Too much instability within the team, reckon he will come good in time. Just not at 11.5.

Please pick one to leave my team:

    1. Sturridge
    2. Costa

    .
I like Sturridge's fixtures, but Costa is a better player.

Costa is not a better player though. Costa is a strong donkey. Sturridge is faster and technically better.

Tough one.. Costa I think, some tasty home games for Sturridge, (c) material for many of them. Though I'm not sure he's worth 11.5 atm..

Posted this in DZ earlier as well

    - For those who missed it, this is what Pellegrini said about Jovetic last night

'At the moment, it is difficult to say who is the best striking partner for him because Alvaro Negredo is injured and Kun Aguero is not yet 100% but he can play with anyone.'

Suggesting that he is ahead of Dzeko in the pecking order

Against the good teams that would probably be the right call but first United need to beat the smaller teams. United needs to be more dynamic in attack and dominate all the possession hence Di Maria as a CM where he played much of his football at RM.

we need a ball winner a strong physical presence in the centre of the park

chelsea have matic and city have yaya

You're a typical English football fan. Stuck in the past with the idea of some need for brutish defensive midfielders. The best teams don't need them, they just fill their side with class instead.

and where has that got arsenal? loaded with technically gifted but lightweight players who come up against the likes of stoke and get kicked off the park and they dissapear into their shells.. thats the way of the english game mate its not my fault thats how it is

and again i hate to repeat myself but its no coinceidence that the 2 most dominant teams are also the most powerful physically as well as having the class u speak of...

That's fine. But cup runs are crap shoots while leagues are the true tests of a team's quality. Don't see what's so controversial about that in all honesty.

Look, I've gone on record here calling Mata an 'overrated little oompa loompa,' but the reality is that United have no viable alternatives. That squad is old and slow in the attack and young and naive in the back. An absolute dumpster fire.

Well done on the new rank Innsie...

I have a similar problem... but I'm committed to giving Caulker two more home games, after that he will most likely be gone...

Tbh honest, I would keep your front 8... Jovetic is probably not a long term option but with Stoke at home you have to keep him...

(As unlikely as it is) if after 38 GWs you are level with 100 other players on 2500pts, the person with the least transfers made will be put at the top of the tree?

I know this game is all about points, but it irritates me how short sighted people are when it comes to offering up advice to sell on players who haven't scored points yet...

    Let's look at some examples...

Mata blanks in GW1 > mass hysteria and a price drop > 10pts in GW2 = bad advice...
Jovetic blanks in GW1 > mass hysteria and a price drop > 13pts in GW2 = bad advice...

Sterling 13pts in GW1 > mass hysteria and a price rise > 2pts in GW2 = bad move given the fixtures (although arguably a sound long term move, but that was certainly not the reason for the 120k transfer in and a price rise)

Ok , players like Eriksen haven't score yet, but that doesn't mean you should take him out...

I suggest we keep an open mind and have some vision... it's only a matter of time before he starts scoring...

I do agree with most of Zep though would add this-

I did take a hit on Mata to Hazard while doing Lovren to Clyne.

I know he, Mata, only blanked for one game but i had no Chelsea mid and made the desicion on how poor as a whole team Man U looked and in comparison how good Chelsea looked. I also have Rooney. This was a long term decision. Lovren to Clyne was easy, why the hell did i start with a Pool defender!!!

Yep.. But a lot of luck involved in this game mate.. Man U looks shaky atm.. Jovetic hysteria wasn't the consequence of his blank.. It was the early return of the KUN that changed everything.. Sterling looks very Lively and plays in a very attackin position... Ericksen is Unlucky I agree, He should have much more points but if he keeps beeing Unlucky it might affect some people's scorin.. A lot of luck/ bad luck..

Also this season is shaping up to be much more exciting/frustrating imo

There are so many viable options who on their day can score big-

Mids- Ramsey, Sanchez, Mata, Di Maria?, Hazard, Sterling Fabregas, Silva, Toure. Also includes to lesser extent Lamella, Gerrard, Nasri, Eriksson, Siggy, Coutinio Ozil, Walcott Oscar Llana

Forwards- Costa, Rooney, RVP, Aguero Sturridge. Lesser inclusions Mario B, Bony, Adebayor, Giroud, Lukaku, Benteke

Every week you will probably be scoring 'unique' points (from players your rivals dont have) while also missing some from players you cant fit in.

The teams in my mini leagues are the most varied i have seen them for many years. When there are so many good options it makes the game so much more fun but also frustrating in equal measure.

      In short, its brilliant!

Yeah I tend to agree, I can see it being cat and mouse stuff... where one rival outscores you one week, then you outscore him the other week as and when your different players bring home the points...

Predicting form will be key... but IMO the best time to have proven player is right after he's blanks a couple of times... cos BOOM he goes on another run...

haha so next week if mata blank and fab scores then suddenly it becomes a good advice again?

look over a few games to decide whether the move is good or bad. as u say its too early to think that a player will not score just becos of 1 game..but its also too early to deem the advice as good or bad based on just the score of the next game.

      1. Zep
        • 15 Years
        11 years, 3 months ago

Fair enough, the sample is too small to know for sure over the long term whether or not they were bad moves, but I'm focusing on the reasons for selling these players immediately after one game, which in itself is not enough time to make that decision..

But we can only go off the information we have, so if anything it highlights the different perspectives people have in relation to transfer strategies...

        I prefer to wait myself...

Dzeko-Jovetic Comparison. Put Aguero in there just in case you're still considering him, despite him looking unlikely to start. In my eyes, he definitely could still have a massive impact as a sub.
