Arsenal and Tottenham were both rebuffed in their attempts to sign Southampton’s World Cup star Morgan Schneiderlin this summer and hanging on to the French midfielder has proven crucial to the Saints’ ascent under new boss Ronald Koeman.

The 10.7% of Fantasy Premier League managers who have backed Schneiderlin have seen a phenomenal return from the central midfielder, who has chalked up 29 points in his last three appearances, courtesy of a trio of goals and four bonus points.

In our next members’ article of the week, we turn to the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) tables in order to assess Schneiderlin’s progress from the previous campaign under Mauricio Pochettino.

For the unfamiliar, these KPI tables are designed to use a series of key stats to allow our members to track form or changes in player performance. By tracking the frequency of certain key statistics and comparing them over two separate periods of time, we can ascertain whether a player’s form has improved or declined. As mentioned in last summer’s introductory article, we’ve rolled out a preview movie which shows just how to get the best out of the KPI tables.

By comparing this season to last, we should be able to get an indication as to how he will be utilised in Koeman’s new-look side and determine whether his high points return so far could be sustainable. By also referencing the Comparison Tool and season totals, we get a better indication as to how he fared:

Do we like the following folks?

    Coloccini + Dzeko -> Bertrand + Welbeck/Pelle (2FTs)

I'd just do Dzeko to Welbeck/Pelle and swap Colocinni out next week. fancy him over Bertrand this week. swansea away is a tough game

Yet again Terry went up for every set piece and even had a header saved off the line.

i'm deciding between starting him and Clyne. gonna keep him either way. i've watched every chelsea game and he keeps goin up for set pieces.. then when i come on here everyone tells me he did not! i thought i was goin insane..

Hug goes up but doesn't seem to do the attacking, seems to be there to occupy defenders or randomly run to the back post even when ball isn't going there

yeah.. he's basically there to take the focus of costa and ivanovic now. atleast he's still up there though. so same potential as cahill and more nailed on than Azpi so not that bad value still if ivanovic is too expensive for you

So now that I've recovered from having dropped Behrami last minute, I can turn my attention back to EPL!

Have a real big defensive dilemma this week. All 5 of my defenders have decent fixtures! Which 3 would you start?

    a) Clyne (swa)
    b) Caulker (STO)
    c) Pieters (qpr)
    d) Naylor (SOU)
    e) PVA (bur)

Sadio Mane has a chance of starting this week, I can see him hogging most the chances to score/cross so I don't see Clyne being as attacking this game.

Caulker has had the biggest defensive goal threat in the league so far (aside from Ivan of course).

McCarthy (Just in case he plays)

Do you prefer this side or the following option?

Ivan & Tadic to Clyne & Di Maria.

Tadic has matched Di Maria in stats so far this season and Sadio Mane is surely going to score some goals (getting Tadic some more assists in the process), so surely it's good enough as it is right?

Fairly certain you'll be eating your words by season's end. I don't think anyone is basing this off of a one off performance. He's been a brilliant talent for years and had a phenomenal season at Real Madrid last year. One of the most explosive talents in the EPL easily

I agree QPR are a poor side but don't think there is any doubting Di Maria's quality in my opinion. Will be interesting to compare him with other heavy hitters end of season tho.

    Dilemma:

    Would you rather...

    A) Sort your defence out, and happily go into the weekend with Sanchez, Balotelli and no Man United cover

Or B) Ignore the fact that you're down to playing Liam Moore vs United at the back, with zero backup in the form of Bruce and Debuchy on your bench, but boldly bring in di Maria for Sanchez or Rooney for Balotelli?

And does your answer depend on whether you're a Man U fan?

Hazard really is not getting the rub of the green is he.. looked sooooooo dangerous today, yet if it was fpl he'd end up with just an assist and Fabs got the goal. gotta decide between getting one of the 2 in next week and leaning towards hazard. so much potential there

Hazards gonna have a lot of goals.. plus its a lot more fun watching him 🙂 .. Fabs relies on 1/2 world class passes a game and corners for points.. but if the person finishing them off has a bad day then fabs will get no points. Hazard on the other hands creates his own chances and is always in the peno box

It doesn't look like that for now...A good striker and a passing midfielder have stolen the show from Hazard, he shone last year and I don't think he's gonna do the same this season 🙂

So dangerous though. As a Fab owner I'm ecstatic that he's not firing on all cylinders but he could have easily had a brace today and if he catches form will prove to be a true differential for the people who've stuck with him

      1. Valar(Keith)
        • 16 Years

Yup.. It's gonna be hazard time soon. people who think it's an open and shut case deciding between fabs and hazard just 4 games into the season are wearing blinders. Both will do well and now just a 0.6 difference between em. i'd rather gambling on hazard. imagine if hazard is on penos too!

Its not just 0.6 though if you owned Fab before his rise. I brought him in at GW2 at 9.0 so the upgrade is 0.8 (if it even is an upgrade that is). I have Hazard in the UCL fantasy though so I have experienced both sides! 🙂

No points for potential. Fabregas likely to play further forward after Mourinho's moving him up there during the Swansea game provided dividends.

When Hazard starts to unleash his undoubted potential get thim then.

      1. Valar(Keith)
        • 16 Years

Mourinho likes him playing alongside matic.. and looks like fabs likes it too. even when he plays in the hole he tends to drop deep so that he can get more time on the ball to make a pass. Oscar was not fit vs Swans btw. expect Oscar to start in the hole during the easier games and Fabs to play in the hole in tough games so that Ramires can protect the defense alongside matic. Fabs not that involved in open play either

You've sold yourself on Hazard so get him. Fabregas was poor in the first 20 mins v Swans. Mourinho called him over, had a word. Fabregas moved forward, aking to a No. 10, and was brilliant. Has previous of being brilliant in PL. Who's to say both of them won't be brilliant but for now Hazard is playing well but not getting FF points whereas Fabregas is getting thosse points, probably because he's older and, in PL experience terms, wiser than Hazard.

I have 2 FT's and 0.5 itb, but nothing screams out as needing to be done this week.

    Begovic
    Chambers Caulker Lovren (Wisdom Clyne)
    Ramsey Fabregas Siggy Sterling (Tadic)
    Costa Rooney Naismith

Should I just take the opportunity to get rid of Krul while I have the chance, and save myself 0.5 in the process, or something else?

What people forget is that in the last two PL games Spurs and Villa managed a combined 2 shots on target against Liverpool, and only 1 from open play.

Ludogorets also only managed 2 shots on target iirc.

Not exactly the sign of a terrible defense is it.

Not a sign of a good defence either. A good defence concedes no goals.

Villa beat them with thier one chance. City pasted that defence to the wall. Ludogorets are one of the lowest ranked clubs in the Champions League. That defence is not good enough for Liverpool football club at the moment but it has potential. Needs time to gel as they've only played a few games together. And hopefully they sign Valdes and Mignolet ups his game or sits on the bench.

He was far from awesome. Dawdling for the Ludogorets goal that would have cost 2 points if they hadn't won a penalty.

Hi all. Whenever I click on the Fixture Ticker it says "Ticker Loading..." but it never actually loads. Anyone got a solution? (I'm on an iphone 5.)
    Cheers!

Just tried on my 4S & it worked. I wasn't logged in but loaded straight away. Ticker might have more info as you have membership. Still shouldn't be an issue.

Hey guys, I wondered if any of you kind chaps would give me your opinion on my team,

    Foster, Krul

    Azpili, Chester, Wisdom, Moore, PVA

    Mata, Ramsey, Sterling, Siggy, Marney

    Rooney, Costa, Naismith

4.3 in the bank 1 FT and Wildcard not used yet.

What would you do? who would you trade out and in?

    One transfer? two transfers? wildcard?

I like the look of southampton and schniderlin, I really really wanna trade mata for fabregas but he keeps scoring!

Im thinking about maybe wildcarding, and going
        Naismith>pelle,
        Mata>fabregas,
        Chester>bertrand,
        Azpili> Ivanovic

those moves make sense, but maybe not until next week... atleast in the case of pelle, fab, and bert who all have toughies this week
