We delve into the Gameweek 5 data this evening in our first members article of the week. Wayne Rooney’s new role for United comes under analysis, as do Burnley and Leicester’s displays up front, whilst a couple of north London-based frontmen are also placed under the microscope after their contrasting weekend performances.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Voice of reason, you can only have four out of Sterling, Fab, ADM, Ramsey and Siggy. Does anybody have the first four and not Siggy?

Sterling Hazard ADM - No Siggy No Ramsey (scary though)

That's what I'm aiming for too, need to upgrade Siggy soon to Ram/Wally or Silva if he fires

Sorry should read Fab/Haz as they'll score a similar amount of points this season.

    A) Moreno, Hazard, Costa, Welbeck

    B) Baines, Hazard, Costa, Ulloa

    C) Moreno, Sigurdsson, Costa, Falcao

    D) Moreno, Hazard, Falcao, Welbeck

    E) Baines, Hazard, Falcao, Ulloa

I'd go for Pelle now - there's a nice little window before Arsenal's fixtures turn, and you can always do Pelle > Welbz in a few GWs if Pelle doesn't do the business

This is what I'm doing 🙂

Easier to buy the more expensive, Pelle, and switch down to Welbeck than the other way around. Considering the way QPR have been leaking goals, Pelle could do well this coming GW.

This is quite a good point. If Pelle outscores Welbz over the next two, which you would think is likely with QPR at home, I can't see myself selling with good fixtures to come

My defence was Terry-Naylor-PVA-Hutton-Dummett with 0.6 itb. I didn't want to sell PVA because I rate his offensive production, and I'll probably WC anyway during the international break and try to catch some price rises.

This is for the people who are considering to sell Balotelli this week due to his form. Many of the strikers who have come from outside UK for example Pelle. They take the to settle in the league and with their style of play. Pelle scored in the third game too. Balotelli has already scored once for Liverpool and I guess its time that he starts scoring any moment in the PL. Specially when its the fixture against Everton, a goal fest, and it could be the perfect time for Balotelli to explode. Plus people think with Sturridge set to return, the points may be divided but they can form a team like Suarez and be a lethal pair.

    1. Jönny
      • 16 Years
      11 years, 2 months ago

He's not exactly new to the Premiership though, is he? I've sold this week and to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if he scored. Equally, I wouldn't be surprised if a firey derby ends with him getting sent off!

      1. jai1212
        • 11 Years
        11 years, 2 months ago

He has played in the PL but he has returned after a long gap and would take some time to adjust. I too have thoughts to get Costa in this week for him but just the point about the goal fest in the derby is prompting me to give him a last chance. He has been quite well disciplined this time. He has not given any offensive reactions this time. I see him being normal xP

completely disgarre. I think he's a waste of space as an FPL prospect

average goal record when he's not taking penalties, zero assist threat and pretty likely to get sent off

    Final decisions on WILDCARD team

    A) Mannone, Moore, Boyd, Falcao / Sturridge (kun's olay time rotation and injury prone puts me off)

    B) Forster, Wilson, Ramsey , Ulloa

    XXX / Schmeichel

    Duff, Chambers, Baines, Lovren, XXX

Fabregas, Di Maria, Sterling, Siggy, XXX

    Costa, Welbeck, XXX

    Thanks

Here's another thought on midfield rotation:

Now until GW7: Sterling, ADM, Fab/Haz, Siggy + cheapy

    GW8-GW12: Sterling, Silva, Fab/Haz, Ram/Wally + cheapy

    GW13-GW15: Sterling, ADM, Fab/Haz, Ram/Wally, Siggy

    GW16-GW18: Silva, ADM, Fab/Haz, Ram/Wally, Siggy

    What do ya think?

Keep Rooney for this GW, or switch to Costa?

Other strikers are Aguero and Welbeck.

I can actually see Rooney outscoring Costa this week but not owning him scares me too much when the majority will be (c) him.

It really shouldn't but I still think Rooney will do well against West Ham. Hopefully Costa just does better.

Normally I would say no, but Costa will be most peoples captain this week, and a big haul will hurt you bad

      Keep.

Costa is very tempting I know but not the week to get him if you don't have him already, I think he'll play 60-70 minutes vs Villa. Plus Rooney got good fixtures.

I also don't have Costa (it feels like a dirty confession).
I can't decide if that's FPL suicide or a differential punt, in case he blanks again.
I have a feeling Costa might start a run of more yellow cards than goals, or be rotated...
      Am I insane?

I think a full strength Villa defence (bug free and Vlaar back) will make it a tight game. I myself will be keeping an eye on Vlaar's fitness and the teams health this week before deciding on captaining Costa or leaving Fabregas on the bench. However if Villa come out with the same defence as they did against Arsenal then Costa may bag a ton of points. Plus Rooney has a good record against West Ham someone mentioned on here so I'd maybe hold off for now?

    A. Naismith to Pelle
    B. Eriksen to ADM (have Rooney)
    C. Eriksen to Fabregas
    D. Krul to Forster (have Foster vs BUR this week)

Pelle against QPR at home though...he's their main goalscorer as well..

          Contemplating the exact same transfer.

    Planning to do:
    A) Naismith --> Welbeck
    B) N.Taylor --> Baines
    C) Moore --> Vlaar

By GW8 when Arsenal, Everton and Villa fixtures become good and Swansea toughens. Is it worth doing A for a hit now before Naismith falls again and Welbeck rises (Potentially) ?

i would do it personally, always a risk but a -4 every once in a while is worth it. Think the nld could be a high scoring affair as well as liv/eve ut you are assured starts with welbeck.

Mmm...to swap to Pelle or not? Naismith will become a problem long-term anyway, with rotation and the rest. Everton's schedule gets hectic.

Some mad offensive stats for this Remy Cabella fella. I havent seen Newcastle much this season, but why isnt he able to convert stats into points, unlucky or just not good enough?

I was surprised with how good his stats were too. Unfortunately Riviere is finding it too difficult to score by himself up top.

Growing in confidence and soon to be joined for yet another stint of Cisse up front...intriguing stuff. Newcastle have only notched five times this season so until that goes up massively there ain't a lot to share around...
