We delve into the Gameweek 5 data this evening in our first members article of the week. Wayne Rooney’s new role for United comes under analysis, as do Burnley and Leicester’s displays up front, whilst a couple of north London-based frontmen are also placed under the microscope after their contrasting weekend performances.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Not mentioned in the Scout Tweets , if people are not aware :

    1) Toby was present in"light training" y'day for Southampton
    2) Koeman said that both JWP and Yoshida has a chance to be fit for QPR

Currently on WC and have found the 11 out of 15. As for the rest i am thinking of 5 possible combinatios atm which is better?

    A) Moreno, Hazard, Costa, Welbeck

    B) Baines, Hazard, Costa, Ulloa

    C) Moreno, Sigurdsson, Costa, Falcao

    D) Moreno, Hazard, Falcao, Welbeck

    E) Baines, Hazard, Falcao, Ulloa

I'd go for Pelle now - there's a nice little window before Arsenal's fixtures turn, and you can always do Pelle > Welbz in a few GWs if Pelle doesn't do the business

This is what I'm doing 🙂

Easier to buy the more expensive, Pelle, and switch down to Welbeck than the other way around. Considering the way QPR have been leaking goals, Pelle could do well this coming GW.

Seeing a lot of familiar faces.. so gonna repost for the last time.
    Leicester Striker situation:
When Leicester play 3 uptop Ulloa and Vardy and probably Nugent will start. Ulloa is the main target man, Nugent drops deeper and does the dirty work and Vardy offers pace on the counter. Considerin they've got 3 away games coming up expect Vardy to be their main outlet as he'll be the one getting the ball out of leicesters half and into dangerous areas on counters. When they play 2 uptop it'll be Ulloa and Vardy soon enough... Ulloa again the main target man and Vardy creating and making space for others etc just behind him. though Nugent has been working his ar$e off of late so for now it'll be him behind Ulloa. this will just mean that Vardy goes out on the wing and though he will be reverse OOP on paper will still maintain a high assist threat(and considering he's speed and workrate i'd wager he'll still have the highest avg position on the pitch). . Nugent will see the bench more often while Vardy and Ulloa are nailed on. When Nugent is on the pitch he is on penos.. when he is not Ulloa will be on them.
Last season Vardy was the most impressive player in the championship for me.. He tailed off at the end and suffered from burnout missed the last few. he did get 16 goals and double figures in assists in just 30 odd games. in preseason i'd backed him to be teh main man at leicester and the budget price of 5 seemed too good to pass up but now that his injury worry is behind him i'm getting him straight away.
    in a nutshell:
IF you want a cheap 8th attacker who will be on your bench most weeks but is nailed on and has very high assist potential(and a fair goal threat too) get Vardy.
IF you want a cheap 7th attacker who you want to play every week get Ulloa(high goal threat low assist potential).. as he is a bit too expensive to be benched week in week out. though tbh as much as i love the foxes i would not wanna play an attacker every week 🙂 ..

        Good read!
I prefer Ulloa he can score all types of goals and a threat from set pieces which Vardy dosen't have. With the same qualities as Pelle and the fact he's much cheaper I've gone with him as my 3rd striker

        +1

Just don't fall into the trap of having 8 good attackers and rotating them

        ulloa + 4.5m milf + Cash

        OR

        Vardy + 7 good attackers

Yup.. this is it basically. Vardy prob the best sub 5.0 option around imo as a benchwarmer as he is capable of big scores. so for me he is a no brainer considerin i dont like rotating players and i want 7 good attackers

Yup.. i'm getting Vardy cause i want a cheap 8th attacker and it fits my fpl style of having a sub 5.0 player to bench. if you want Ulloa he is a grand option too.

I thought that Leicester'd get battered at set pieces this season after watchign em last season(part of the reason they bough Upson initially).. but they have looked solid. Moore should prove to be a bargain. just dont expect miracles 🙂 .. Keep your expectations Around 8-10 CS's by the season end and you wont be disappointed 🙂 .. the stats show leicester have been lucky of late not to concede more but a lot of the shots conceded have been easily blocked and pot shots basically.

This is for the people who are considering to sell Balotelli this week due to his form. Many of the strikers who have come from outside UK for example Pelle. They take the to settle in the league and with their style of play. Pelle scored in the third game too. Balotelli has already scored once for Liverpool and I guess its time that he starts scoring any moment in the PL. Specially when its the fixture against Everton, a goal fest, and it could be the perfect time for Balotelli to explode. Plus people think with Sturridge set to return, the points may be divided but they can form a team like Suarez and be a lethal pair.

    1. Jönny
      • 16 Years
      11 years, 2 months ago

He's not exactly new to the Premiership though, is he? I've sold this week and to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if he scored. Equally, I wouldn't be surprised if a firey derby ends with him getting sent off!

      1. jai1212
        • 11 Years

He has played in the PL but he has returned after a long gap and would take some time to adjust. I too have thoughts to get Costa in this week for him but just the point about the goal fest in the derby is prompting me to give him a last chance. He has been quite well disciplined this time. He has not given any offensive reactions this time. I see him being normal xP

completely disgarre. I think he's a waste of space as an FPL prospect

Now until GW7: Sterling, ADM, Fab/Haz, Siggy + cheapy

    GW8-GW12: Sterling, Silva, Fab/Haz, Ram/Wally + cheapy

    GW13-GW15: Sterling, ADM, Fab/Haz, Ram/Wally, Siggy

      Keep.

Costa is very tempting I know but not the week to get him if you don't have him already, I think he'll play 60-70 minutes vs Villa. Plus Rooney got good fixtures.

I also don't have Costa (it feels like a dirty confession).
I can't decide if that's FPL suicide or a differential punt, in case he blanks again.
I have a feeling Costa might start a run of more yellow cards than goals, or be rotated...
      Am I insane?

I think a full strength Villa defence (bug free and Vlaar back) will make it a tight game. I myself will be keeping an eye on Vlaar's fitness and the teams health this week before deciding on captaining Costa or leaving Fabregas on the bench. However if Villa come out with the same defence as they did against Arsenal then Costa may bag a ton of points. Plus Rooney has a good record against West Ham someone mentioned on here so I'd maybe hold off for now?

    B) N.Taylor --> Baines

By GW8 when Arsenal, Everton and Villa fixtures become good and Swansea toughens. Is it worth doing A for a hit now before Naismith falls again and Welbeck rises (Potentially) ?
