We delve into the Gameweek 5 data this evening in our first members article of the week. Wayne Rooney’s new role for United comes under analysis, as do Burnley and Leicester’s displays up front, whilst a couple of north London-based frontmen are also placed under the microscope after their contrasting weekend performances.
If he's fit I'll probably get him this week
Pick one for me to bring in:
A. Chambers
B. Moore
C. Duff
D. PVAA
Ima say Duff or Shackell
D
d
Please cast a vote for me this week:
Foster (4.5 BUR)
Ivanovic (7.2 AVL) Bertrand (5.1 QPR) Duff (4.1 wba)
Sterling (8.8 EVE) Fabregas (9.4 AVL) Di Maria (9.8 WHM) Puncheon (5.9 LEI)

http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2014/09/22/scout-notes-gameweek-5-sunday-2/?hc_page=1#hc_comment_8369872Currently on WC and have found the 11 out of 15. As for the rest i am thinking of 5 possible combinatios atm which is better?
A) Moreno, Hazard, Costa, Welbeck
B) Baines, Hazard, Costa, Ulloa
C) Moreno, Sigurdsson, Costa, Falcao
D) Moreno, Hazard, Falcao, Welbeck
E) Baines, Hazard, Falcao, Ulloab
A or c. Too close to call
A
C, but Liverpool's defence would make me do Moreno > Bertrand
D with Costa
Which is A.. 😳
D with Costa is A aha
B. Without a shadow of a doubt
Stay away from the Liverpool defence (yes Evertons has been worse but Baines is a proven points scorer) so B
So it has to be A or B. Thanks for the voting i ll try to fit in Baines and Welbeck maybe downgrade Ivanovic rest of team atm is
Forster, Heaton
Clyne, Ivanovic, Wisdom, Duff, XXXX
Sterling, Di Maria, Boyd, Downing, XXXX
Pelle, XXXX, XXXX
Pelle or webeck for this week?
Pelles stats are insane but welbeck has the derby.Welbeck
Am having both for this week
It is a tricky one, but when in doubt, I will go for the top team player, as they will produce more chances and goals in the longer run
I'd go for Pelle now - there's a nice little window before Arsenal's fixtures turn, and you can always do Pelle > Welbz in a few GWs if Pelle doesn't do the business
This is what I'm doing 🙂
Easier to buy the more expensive, Pelle, and switch down to Welbeck than the other way around. Considering the way QPR have been leaking goals, Pelle could do well this coming GW.
Seeing a lot of familiar faces.. so gonna repost for the last time.
Leicester Striker situation:
When Leicester play 3 uptop Ulloa and Vardy and probably Nugent will start. Ulloa is the main target man, Nugent drops deeper and does the dirty work and Vardy offers pace on the counter. Considerin they've got 3 away games coming up expect Vardy to be their main outlet as he'll be the one getting the ball out of leicesters half and into dangerous areas on counters. When they play 2 uptop it'll be Ulloa and Vardy soon enough... Ulloa again the main target man and Vardy creating and making space for others etc just behind him. though Nugent has been working his ar$e off of late so for now it'll be him behind Ulloa. this will just mean that Vardy goes out on the wing and though he will be reverse OOP on paper will still maintain a high assist threat(and considering he's speed and workrate i'd wager he'll still have the highest avg position on the pitch). . Nugent will see the bench more often while Vardy and Ulloa are nailed on. When Nugent is on the pitch he is on penos.. when he is not Ulloa will be on them.
Last season Vardy was the most impressive player in the championship for me.. He tailed off at the end and suffered from burnout missed the last few. he did get 16 goals and double figures in assists in just 30 odd games. in preseason i'd backed him to be teh main man at leicester and the budget price of 5 seemed too good to pass up but now that his injury worry is behind him i'm getting him straight away.
in a nutshell:
IF you want a cheap 8th attacker who will be on your bench most weeks but is nailed on and has very high assist potential(and a fair goal threat too) get Vardy.
IF you want a cheap 7th attacker who you want to play every week get Ulloa(high goal threat low assist potential).. as he is a bit too expensive to be benched week in week out. though tbh as much as i love the foxes i would not wanna play an attacker every week 🙂 ..that turned out longer than expected.. 😳
say that to a girl and you're golden 😉
Good post mateGood read!
I prefer Ulloa he can score all types of goals and a threat from set pieces which Vardy dosen't have. With the same qualities as Pelle and the fact he's much cheaper I've gone with him as my 3rd striker
Is there really a need for so much in depth insight into Leicester?
Just get Ulloa. He is good value.+1
Just don't fall into the trap of having 8 good attackers and rotating them
ulloa + 4.5m milf + Cash
OR
Vardy + 7 good attackersYup.. this is it basically. Vardy prob the best sub 5.0 option around imo as a benchwarmer as he is capable of big scores. so for me he is a no brainer considerin i dont like rotating players and i want 7 good attackers
ungrateful brat!
Seeing a lot of ppl dismissing Vardy as a flash in the pan. just wanted to let you'll know he isn't.. but apologies if this bored you. i'll just stick to RMT's 🙂
Hulk plz
I'm tempted by Ulloa, whereas Vardy could have been penalised in the buildup play for a couple of the goals against ManU.
Good post, thanks! Thanks for the info! 😀
Okay, but for .8 more you can get their main man
Guess they're all forwards. And if I was getting a Leicester forward it's Ulloa
Yup.. i'm getting Vardy cause i want a cheap 8th attacker and it fits my fpl style of having a sub 5.0 player to bench. if you want Ulloa he is a grand option too.
great write-up, Leicester fan? What do you think of their defense vs weaker opposition?
8 points with those first 5 is really impressive - Hope Moore will show real value.
I thought that Leicester'd get battered at set pieces this season after watchign em last season(part of the reason they bough Upson initially).. but they have looked solid. Moore should prove to be a bargain. just dont expect miracles 🙂 .. Keep your expectations Around 8-10 CS's by the season end and you wont be disappointed 🙂 .. the stats show leicester have been lucky of late not to concede more but a lot of the shots conceded have been easily blocked and pot shots basically.
Thx for the insight!
Prior to the United game, Vardy has played less than half a game of football this season. Was he injured/not nailed?
injured mate.. thigh problem. back to full fitness now he said himself. the two runouts helped(and he looked dangerous in those too)

This is quite a good point. If Pelle outscores Welbz over the next two, which you would think is likely with QPR at home, I can't see myself selling with good fixtures to comeGot them both plus Costa as of this week.
Liverpool v Everton Martin Atkinson
Chelsea v Aston Villa Phil Dowd
Crystal Palace v Leicester Keith Stroud
Hull v Man City Anthony Taylor
Man Utd v West Ham Lee Mason
Southampton v QPR Mark Clattenburg
Sunderland v Swansea Chris Foy
Arsenal v Spurs Michael Oliver
-----------------------------------------------------------------
West Brom v Burnley Jonathan Moss
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Stoke v Newcastle Craig Pawson
Ref appointments for the weekis there a fantasy ref league?
😆
LOL

(b) Krul out, Hart in
(c) Krul out, Mannone in

(e) Jovetic out, Pelle in
(f) Naismith out, Ulloa in
(g) save ft
Opinions appreciatedC.
Would have said e but jovetic will play and I'm sure he will shine!Cheers with City's upcoming fixtures I'm sure he can do well.
e
E
F then E for a hit
I like your style as I love the hits.
I haven't seen Jovetic in anyone's team for a very long time
He's been on my bench for a while too. I'm hoping he could become a bit of a differential.
Worth doing Rooney and welbeck to ullua and aguero for free?
No, doing the opposite would have made more sense to me
How does Rooney and Naismith to Pelle and Welbeck next week sound?
Dunno about Welbeck
Rooney>Pelle has to be done this week
Really? Why?
QPR at home
Not a clever move rooney has a big chance of out scoring Pelle and welbs this gw
If it still sounds good next week, do it
Roo has good games in his locker
Liverpools next four after the derby:
WBA, qpr, HUL, newPity Sterling is the only decent option
Gerrard for a few weeks? Although CL and legs gone means even he's toast.
Gawd no. Complete liability these days...the sooner Can comes back from injury the better!
Yeah thought so. Shame, FPL leg end.
No CS there
lolAny idea when Sturridge is back?
Off the bench this week, probably
1. Just pulled the trigger on Naylor>Bertrand. Feel like I wasted a transfer.
2. Is it madness to captain Hazard over Costa? Or just balls of steel? Why would you sell naylor
My defence was Terry-Naylor-PVA-Hutton-Dummett with 0.6 itb. I didn't want to sell PVA because I rate his offensive production, and I'll probably WC anyway during the international break and try to catch some price rises.
it's madness
I'm pretty set on Hazard captain, I'm the only person in my ML with him
Everyone else will tell you its madness though haha
This is for the people who are considering to sell Balotelli this week due to his form. Many of the strikers who have come from outside UK for example Pelle. They take the to settle in the league and with their style of play. Pelle scored in the third game too. Balotelli has already scored once for Liverpool and I guess its time that he starts scoring any moment in the PL. Specially when its the fixture against Everton, a goal fest, and it could be the perfect time for Balotelli to explode. Plus people think with Sturridge set to return, the points may be divided but they can form a team like Suarez and be a lethal pair.
He's not exactly new to the Premiership though, is he? I've sold this week and to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if he scored. Equally, I wouldn't be surprised if a firey derby ends with him getting sent off!
He has played in the PL but he has returned after a long gap and would take some time to adjust. I too have thoughts to get Costa in this week for him but just the point about the goal fest in the derby is prompting me to give him a last chance. He has been quite well disciplined this time. He has not given any offensive reactions this time. I see him being normal xP
Balotelli is no stranger to the premier league..
What I meant was that he has returned to PL after a long gap. So it will take time to settle in
completely disgarre. I think he's a waste of space as an FPL prospect
average goal record when he's not taking penalties, zero assist threat and pretty likely to get sent off
Subho mahalaya everyone...It's the start of a beautiful colourful Indian festival 🙂
Is this -8 justified ? : Ade,Lamela,Caulker -> Pelle,AdM,Duff
but this means that I'll have to keep Rooney this week and can't get in Aguero
Been slipping in my leagues very quickly and can't afford to carry dead weightsno -8 is justified imo
it's either hits or WC unfortunately
Seems worth it to be fair
Keeping Rooney is wise for this gameweek imo, then maybe switch to Falcao soonNahh...Won't get Falcao anytime soon..Looking at City cover though
+1
good for you. Ive just got off a packed tube with a cold 🙂
Working from home on a holiday 🙁
Happy Durgotsav mate 🙂 (assuming that's what you were referring to)
Drop Caulker -> Duff and go on with a -4 imoThat's exactly what I what I am referring to 😀
I wish I could drop Caulker->Duff but that gives me the essential fundsI suppose you do it then, good chance you'll cover that -4 for Duff this week.
You think he will score 4 points more than PvA ?
Foster
Bertrand Taylor Wilson
Di Maria Fab Siggy Sterling
Costa (C) Aguero Pelle
Heaton Duff Boyd Moore
Save the FT?
Would you start Duff or Boyd over TaylorI would rather think to play Duff over Wilson
burnley eventually have to concede, it is statistics
Falcao > Welbeck/ Pelle? That would fund Zaha > ADM and Ramsey > Hazard
A) DDG, Ramsey , Balotelli > Forster, di Maria, Lukaku (-8)
B) Cahill, Siggy, Balotelli > Bertrand, Di Maria and 8.3 (-8)
C) Cahill, Marney, Balotelli > Bertrand, Di Maria and 6.3 (-8)
D) Balotelli and Cahill > Aguero and chambers (-4)
E) Rambo and Balotelli > adm and Lukaku
Sorry for so many options!F none of the above 🙂
if u insist A unless E is for free
Stoke back 4 at the mo?
bardsly shawcross wilson pieters
Cheers Messi...
Bardsley Huth Wilson Pieters
Shawcross* 😳
Thanks Arvin...
Crap
🙂 eventually as all teams (even liverpool 🙂 ) will keep some clean sheets
This is true.
Any chance you could have a look at my team Billy. Have 2 x FTs, some cash in bank and a WC.
But struggling with what I should do.
Final decisions on WILDCARD team
A) Mannone, Moore, Boyd, Falcao / Sturridge (kun's olay time rotation and injury prone puts me off)
B) Forster, Wilson, Ramsey , Ulloa
XXX / Schmeichel
Duff, Chambers, Baines, Lovren, XXX
Fabregas, Di Maria, Sterling, Siggy, XXX
Costa, Welbeck, XXX
ThanksHere's another thought on midfield rotation:
Now until GW7: Sterling, ADM, Fab/Haz, Siggy + cheapy
GW8-GW12: Sterling, Silva, Fab/Haz, Ram/Wally + cheapy
GW13-GW15: Sterling, ADM, Fab/Haz, Ram/Wally, Siggy
GW16-GW18: Silva, ADM, Fab/Haz, Ram/Wally, Siggy
What do ya think?i bet u wont stick to that 🙂
Unrealistic and potentially expensive.
Rooney to ulloa ? Then upgrade marney to ramsey and pieters to baines ?
You'd wait till next week to do that
Keep Rooney for this GW, or switch to Costa?
Other strikers are Aguero and Welbeck.Switch
I can actually see Rooney outscoring Costa this week but not owning him scares me too much when the majority will be (c) him.
Midfield Rooney outscoring Chelsea main man Costa against Aston VIlla t home?
I'd switch.
switch. this shouldn't even be a question.
It really shouldn't but I still think Rooney will do well against West Ham. Hopefully Costa just does better.
Normally I would say no, but Costa will be most peoples captain this week, and a big haul will hurt you bad
Keep.
Costa is very tempting I know but not the week to get him if you don't have him already, I think he'll play 60-70 minutes vs Villa. Plus Rooney got good fixtures.I also don't have Costa (it feels like a dirty confession).
I can't decide if that's FPL suicide or a differential punt, in case he blanks again.
I have a feeling Costa might start a run of more yellow cards than goals, or be rotated...
Am I insane?I think a full strength Villa defence (bug free and Vlaar back) will make it a tight game. I myself will be keeping an eye on Vlaar's fitness and the teams health this week before deciding on captaining Costa or leaving Fabregas on the bench. However if Villa come out with the same defence as they did against Arsenal then Costa may bag a ton of points. Plus Rooney has a good record against West Ham someone mentioned on here so I'd maybe hold off for now?
A. Naismith to Pelle
B. Eriksen to ADM (have Rooney)
C. Eriksen to Fabregas
D. Krul to Forster (have Foster vs BUR this week)A
C, imo.
This, actually.
A is very tempting, but we're so bad at the back that I'd fancy Naismith this week...
Pelle against QPR at home though...he's their main goalscorer as well..
Contemplating the exact same transfer.Think you're right. Eriksen to Fabs
A or C
Wish I could do both. Have 2 x FTs but just short on cash.
A
B or C but u really should have both cesc and adm imo
WC?
Planning to do:
A) Naismith --> Welbeck
B) N.Taylor --> Baines
C) Moore --> Vlaar
By GW8 when Arsenal, Everton and Villa fixtures become good and Swansea toughens. Is it worth doing A for a hit now before Naismith falls again and Welbeck rises (Potentially) ?i would do it personally, always a risk but a -4 every once in a while is worth it. Think the nld could be a high scoring affair as well as liv/eve ut you are assured starts with welbeck.
About to pull the trigger on Naismith -> Pelle. Any reason not to?
He could very well score this weekend in the Merseyside Derby. Think it was 3-3 or something like that last year.
Yep 4-0 & 3-3, but scorers were Mirallas and Lukaku (2)
It was at Goodison. Everton haven't scored at Anfield since 2010/11 (hard to see that continuing)
Mmm...to swap to Pelle or not? Naismith will become a problem long-term anyway, with rotation and the rest. Everton's schedule gets hectic.
Some mad offensive stats for this Remy Cabella fella. I havent seen Newcastle much this season, but why isnt he able to convert stats into points, unlucky or just not good enough?
Team is shite.
His shooting lacks conviction.
He's got a bit of the Coutinho about him.
This
I see. The charming guy who talks with the most girls out but still goes home alone.
I was surprised with how good his stats were too. Unfortunately Riviere is finding it too difficult to score by himself up top.
Growing in confidence and soon to be joined for yet another stint of Cisse up front...intriguing stuff. Newcastle have only notched five times this season so until that goes up massively there ain't a lot to share around...
I wanna be around when they hit form.
Watchlist for now.Something a bit right about Cisse if he can start scoring...I'd love to see him in a few teams and doing well.
Why was it that Naismith started on the bench last week? Dropped or rested?
Rested I guess
With Eto'o lingering around there was always this risk. You'd have thought Naismith's form would've meant his nailed on but not to be.
Rested. He played midweek.
Rested after Ueropa.
*Europa
rested
quick question,
Chadli or Naismith this weekend?Ooh tough one that. Naismith for me though.
Thanks... I was going for chadli for more chances of starting but I guess they boht on the same boat about starting...
I have Chadli but if I had Naismith I'd play him instead.
Everton look full of goals, Tot look forlorn in final third.Thanks. Will think hard now but I will see if i get more comments..
Not comparing apple to apple... and they don't look good with the fixture, i will take chadli if i have to choose between them just because he is a bit more nailed on that Naismith now.
Exactly my thought my friend...he has more chance of starting but he hasnt been playing for 90 minutes and Lennon is back too
Both play derby matches this week. So... it's really a gamble to choose between them. Wait until last minute before deadline to decide then...
or is it worth -8 hit to do below?
Haha. Not even -4!
on the other hand I could always take a hit and do wilson & naismith --> moore/dummet & Ulloa.
Then I get to start Ulloa over chadli. Worth it?oh and a -8 hit that is
I don't suggest you to do a -4 hit on it.
Don't talk about whether Ulloa scores or not first. Imagine if wilson had a cleansheet and moore/dummet gave u 1 point... and also your -4 hit!
Btw, dummet is risky for starting position.Good analysis! and it's -8 hit hahah...so its a no go then for me. Thanks mate
Kone back gonna be a problem for Naismith?
More about Lukaku and Eto'o.
It's looking more complex now, wih Kone also back.
Naismith to Ulloa looks smart.Certainly. Do it quick before the Argentinean price at 5.8
Yea. Return of Pienaar will be a more relevant in this regard.

Not mentioned in the Scout Tweets , if people are not aware :
1) Toby was present in"light training" y'day for Southampton
2) Koeman said that both JWP and Yoshida has a chance to be fit for QPR
