Our Monday regular is rolled out once again, as we scour the Premier League treatment rooms to assess the players who picked up injuries over the weekend action.

Aston Villa
Gabby Agbonlahor was named in the starting XI to face City but was forced to withdraw prior to kick-off due to illness.

Burnley
Right-back Kieran Trippier is set to be assessed after he was stretchered off with an ankle injury during the 2-2 draw at Leicester – after the match, Sean Dyche was hoping the injury isn’t as bad as first feared.

Chelsea
Thibaut Courtois was subbed off midway through the first-half of yesterday’s win over Arsenal due to a head injury. The club have since confirmed the keeper has been given the all-clear after undergoing precautionary tests and is expected to turn out for Belgium over the international break.

Crystal Palace
Scott Dann is set for knee scans after being forced off just 12 minutes into the weekend loss at Hull.

Everton
Steven Pienaar lasted just 64 minutes of the weekend loss at United before being forced off with a possible recurrence of the thigh injury that had kept him on the sidelines since Gameweek 2. John Stone was stretchered off at Old Trafford, with Roberto Martinez a little worried in his initial prognosis:

“It’s a ligament problem in his ankle. We are going to assess him in the next 48 hours. It’s such a massive blow because, as you have seen today, he plays with an incredible arrogance and great maturity. It’s not for me to say yet [whether he will be fit for England] because we need to get the medical department to assess him. But for him to come off, then I don’t expect John to be fully fit for next week.”

Hull
Ahmed Elmohamady was subbed off in the dying minutes of the weekend win over Palace due to injury.

Leicester City
Esteban Cambiasso missed out with a recurrence of a knock picked up at Palace last week. The Argentine had previously been passed fit by Nigel Pearson but was unable to make the squad for the 2-2 draw with Burnley.

Man City
Fernandinho will be assessed after picking up a hamstring problem during the weekend win at Villa, Manuel Pellegrini confirmed post-match.

Man United
Luke Shaw was withdrawn midway through the second half of United’s win over Everton yesterday but after the match, the left-back revealed he expects to turn out for the upcoming internationals:

“It’s not a bad injury, it’s a dead leg on my knee. I felt it in the first 20 minutes when I got caught but it carried on during the game so I thought it was probably best to come off before it gets any worse. I spoke with the doctor and obviously the manager as well and both feel it’s best that I do go [with the England Under-21s] as it’s not an injury that is going to keep me out. Hopefully, I should be training in the next couple of days and can get another two games of 90 minutes each.”

Post-match, it was also revealed that Paddy McNair had suffered a hamstring injury in the 2-1 victory. The young defender was forced to withdraw from the Northern Ireland squad for their forthcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers with reports claiming that he could be sidelined for three weeks.

Newcastle
Magpies right-back Daryl Janmaat has puled out of international duties for Holland after picking up a hamstring problem during the weekend draw at Swansea.

Stoke City
After overcoming a thigh problem for the trip to Sunderland, Victor Moses was subbed off with a recurrence of the problem, with Mark Hughes explaining:

“Victor came off against Newcastle on Monday and we had him scanned. Nothing showed up and we were hoping that it was just a neural thing but he felt it almost immediately and had to come off. We lacked his drive and the purpose that he’s given us in recent games and although him going off disrupted us, it’s not an excuse as we should have been able to compensate for that.”

Sunderland
Emanuele Giaccherini and Ricardo Alvarez missed the 3-1 win over Stoke through injury and post-match, Gus Poyet admitted the duo, along with Seb Coates, “are going to be out for a while”.

Tottenham
Kyle Naughton was an early casualty in yesterday’s win over Southampton – the right-back was subbed off midway through the first period after sustaining an ankle injury as a result of a challenge from Ryan Bertrand.

    can we really trust welbeck??

He scored one goal fro ars in the league and the hattrick in CL for which you have to give him credit but... they were all from the same spot 🙂 against a leaky defence...

with all the options available, not so sure I want him.

Now there is the "value for money" argument but I just want the points!!!

He has sanchez ozil cazorla ox feeding him though. and arsenal seems to do well against small teams. Id prefer welbeck over pelle

I currently have pelle so keeping him for the next two... not sure I want welbeck in there also... other option is to keep falcao, but that wont allow for baines nor ivan

Look at Naismith's fixtures.Villa, Swans, Hammers at home out of next five. Burnley/Sun away. Not convinced by Welbeck and will wait and see.

I really need to get rid of Caulker 🙁 .. was just looking at that fixture and thinking "yay! a week i can play Caulker!" .. never falling into that trap again. Caulker to Azpilicueta is tempting

Eriksen owners.. keeping? Was all set on Eriksen to Fabregas this week but having second thoughts now. may just bench him and keep him ready for that incredible run after City. the problem owning him is that he has a cheaper alternative in the same team(Chadli) and people around you in your ML hold premium players like Fabs etc instead of him 🙁

I personally think hold, I believe it's Sargeant (apologies if wrong) that writes a piece on players thst play more further forward than strikers in their respective game just played & Eriksen....

      I would say hold

I didn't even finish my point lol... Eriksen is the one in the Spurs team that plays furthest forward...

Fab is proven FPL quality and will be one of highest mids by end of season. He a guaranteed hold and keep player giving you one less position to worry about transfers for.

I've got Chadli in last week, paid off this week vs Tadic.....will get rid of Chadli in a few weeks no doubt.

GW 10 looks like a prime week for a hit to get Arsenal defenders/Chelsea players in.. Chambers for Burnley at home and Hazard/Fabs/a defender for QPR should pay for the hit and then some. good mini WC 🙂

I'm very tempted on contemplating a 12pt to sort ny defense out, which includes Chambers, Baines & Azpil (all for long term) as you say, would/should pay off & would be like a mini WC without actually needing to activate

    23rd pick, my choices are:

    - Gerrard
    - Dzeko
    - Yaya
    - silva
    - Benteke
    - Ozil
    - Tadic
    - bony
    (Among others)

    Guzan
    Baines / Ivanovic / Clyne
    Fab / ADM / Siggy / Chadli
    Costa / Aguero / Naismith

I honestly think it's too early in the season to go that big in defence. Plenty of time for that once you've built TV, around winter WC time.
At this stage, I much prefer 3 biggies in MF and 2 biggies and a 7/8m up front. By biggies, I mean Ars, Chels, ManU, Liv, ManC.
I would want at least 5 attackers, referably 6, from those 5 teams.

Saying that, it's personal preference and that teams looks nice, tbf.

Wilson, Dummet and Duff can all feasibly get CSs next GW, but, were you me, you'd upgrade Dummet to Baines.

Last thing I'd do is upgrade Pelle to Falcao, as that's just far too much to have invested in your front three.

No need to take a points hit.

You don't want to lose Hazard. I think k you need to sacrifice Baines and JT. Can't see any other way. Maybe enough to move Siggy up to ADM. A lot of sacrifices though for one Man U mid.

It's time for the big boys to step up.

Costa,Aguero and Sturridge will be the template front three in no time. People are gonna WC for that.

Would only get the second if I had 2 FTs and didn't know what to do. Not convinced by the fourth re nailed-on-ness at that price. Undoubtedly a top pick on his day.

Very low final 1/3rd touches for the 2nd vs 1st. So a very high success ratio for that feew touches.

I wouldn't change Falcao. He's just heating up...could have scored 3 goals easily last game. 6 shots was a game week high.

Maybe dump Duff and get someone around his price or a bit higher, but I wouldn't do anything until after the break and see if you have any injuries.
