A pair of assists and two bonus points in Swansea’s home draw with Newcastle elevated Gylfi Sigurdsson to the top of the midfield standings in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game at the end of Gameweek 7. With 46 points accrued, the Icelandic international is second only to Diego Costa overall and, having started the season at just 6.0, he’s now climbed in cost to 6.8 – his rise in price of 0.8 is greater than any other player so far.

Averaging 6.6 points per appearance under Garry Monk, Sigurdsson has been snapped up by over 44% of FPL managers as he seamlessly settles back into life at the Liberty. Indeed, Sigurdsson’s Fantasy exploits have so far exceeded his displays from 2011/2, where, under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers, he served up seven goals, five assists and 11 bonus points in 18 appearances – averaging 5.7 points per match.

As the transfers in continue to pick up pace over the international break, we compare his displays over the two periods to assess his impact since returning to Wales.

Unfortunately not, would need to ship one of the midfielders. Couple of options I've considered is:

A: Lescott + Cesc > Chambers (bench this week) + Sanchez
        B: Lescott + Cesc > Baines + Mane
C: Keep Cesc and just do something like Lescott > Chambers to prepare for next week.

        Not the best options really.

Worth it you reckon? 2nd person suggesting this, seems an option worth considering. Not sure if DF should be the area of attention though.

I just love Hazard and I just think he's worth it. Fab just too reliant on assists for me. He's had a nice start to the season to be sure but I like my midfielders to have goal threat first assists potential second. Think Chelsea should earn quite a fair bit of penalties this season too - I think Hazard is worth it and even more so that he's quite the differential now.

That's what tempts me to get Sanchez for the next few and maybe swap to Hazard later on. Huge goal threat.

Yep. Could be a good shout as well. I just have a feeling that with Fab's ridiculously high ownership levels those who get rid of him before his assists dry up will be the first clump to separate from the masses. When this time comes, however, is anyone's guess. If I had Fab I would probably prioritize getting rid though. Could be way off of course 😀

Aguero, Costa or Welbeck el capiton? Will Cazorla play in the hole or is their a chance he will ply Wide with Theo no #10 ?

If Theo plays he will be wide I think. Costa captain for me. Still the assured player. Welbeck and Aguero enough of differential as is for me. Think Welbeck could score well at home though

I thought so.. If Walcott was playing in the hole I'd be putting him straight in the team! Ya Costa captain is the safe bet but if you could manage to captain someone else a week he doesn't score much you cam shoot up the ranks.

Aguero could have had a hat trick and Costa came so close to blanking I could nearly small the green arrow lol Still managed a small green in the end but its agonising how close it is sometimes between a great week and an okay week.

Can't argue with Chadli's point production or price but I don't see him as being that clinical in general. Spurs also seems sort of an inconsistent mess so far this season and I don't really trust them. They do have some pretty nice fixtures coming up, but I don't know just don't see him as too great of an option. Seems the best of the bunch though for those around the 6.0 mark.

If it's just over the next 4 Chadli might be a better bet cos of fixtures. Chelsea have United and Liverpool and though teams are scoring for fun against these, Chelsea will likely park the bus again. Chelsea do play QPR at home though too. Difficult

Whats the deal with Kos? Injured injured or international?

I'd guess international. Why does it matter though? 🙂

Lol Who would have thought having a 4.5m Arsenal defender would be such a pain in the arse 😆

reminds me of young cock chickens we used to have
-head and legs not really connected together, fast and with big potential once head and feet realise they might belong to same body
until then its yella and red cards every time...

    Repost

    What to do?

    DDG/Gilks
    Cahill/Duff/Chester/Clyne/Dummet
    ADM/Sterling/Siggy/Downing/Marney
    Pelle/Costa/Aguero

Save FT and do Chester + DDG -> Baines + Guzan next week? I could also do it for a hit this week
My concern is that I wouldn't be able to upgrade Downing in the near future.

    Thanks. 🙂

I like that plan. I think you should be okay with Downing for the next three GWs then when you save after you make this proposed double switch you will have two frees and could possibly upgrade Downing at that point if he cools off.

      i'd normally say save
but who is your third defender this GW-?
duff/chester + dummat all have dogies in my book
downing is a keeper differential imo -upgrade siggyif required?
I know this is a punt..

      interesting read

cheaper, with those fixtures, i think Hendo is a better choice than Chadli

      Re above article

If memory serves me correctly,i think siggy was asked to play as a striker and was playing oop the first time with swans. That would explain his positioning further up the pitch etc does anyone else recall?

It doesn't even matter. Who cares what he did re stats and positioning 4 years ago? We are playing FPL for this current season. How do his current numbers stack up against other midfielders in his price range? Whether or not his stats are better or worse than they were in 2011 holds no bearing as to whether or not he is worth his price tag this season.

not for Estonia! Baines and Clyne is an excellent fullback combo, we should tear them apart.

Has anyone actually put down in writing the attacker potential next week???

        Berinho
        Pelle
        Aguero
        Costa
        Sakho
        Cisse
        Welbeck

Etc etc etc etc. Big scores up front this (next) week!!!

How do you even go into a week knowing you can't fit them all in!

Someone is gonna go off a.k.a Cisse. Pelle Berahino

Aguero. Costa and the damn pesky 3rd spot here. Ulloa atm

If you had to pick two. Say GW 10 onwards, fixtures difficulty are similar.

        a) Walcott
        b) Chadli
        c) Siggy

I think i like the Baines + welbeck combo. Bertrand might keep up with Baines points wise in these next few games but as soon as Souths get tougher fixtures that might change.
