The current lull in domestic matters affords us time to pause and assess the Scout leagues in a variety of Fantasy games. With leagues in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Ultimate Fantasy Premier League, Sky Sports and the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) Champions League game, there is much for us to analyse:

Fantasy Premier League

Milan Mihajlovic sits atop the Scout League with a total of 462 points after the first seven Gameweeks. Having already played his wildcard, he’s opted for big-hitters Diego Costa and Sergio Aguero up front along with Romelu Lukaku, whilst in midfield, the likes of Angel di Maria, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Raheem Sterling have been crucial to his ascent up the rankings. Intriguingly, Milan – who is second overall – has only one defender priced at 5.0 or over, Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand.

Maciek takes second spot after a Gameweek 7 score of 64 points. He’s tripled up on Chelsea trio Branislav Ivanovic, Cesc Fabregas and Costa and also has the likes of Di Maria, Sterling and Sigurdsson in the centre of the park. Up top, though, he’s opted for Radamel Falcao and Danny Welbeck on his way to 455 points, or 14th overall.

In third position is Stephen Hourie, who has also racked up 455 points so far. His inspired decision to captain Di Maria earned him 70 points in Gameweek 7, whilst the likes of Costa, Sterling, Sigurdsson and Fabregas all chipped in with returns. Intriguingly, he’s opted for Welbeck and Leonardo Ulloa up top, allowing him to acquire big-hitters Ivanovic and Leighton Baines at the back.

Fourth-placed Craig Ellis is a new entry to the Scout League. He also has a number of the usual suspects – Costa, Di Maria, Sigurdsson, Fabregas and Sterling – though placed his faith in a couple of differentials last week, with James Tomkins and Jamie Vardy both helping him up to 24th overall, on 451 points.

Peter Chesley completes the top five on 450 points. After a slight fall last weekend, he’ll be hoping Southampton trio Ryan Bertrand, Dusan Tadic and Graziano Pelle can take advantage of the upcoming five fixtures and fire him back up the leaderboard.

Thanks to our top five, we have retained our spot at the top of the League of Leagues, as we look to retain our crown once again. To join up, the code is 11856-4526.

Peter Chesley also impresses in our Members league and leads the way, whilst Marc Wilcox is second on 439 points and Charles Garnier third on 438 points.

Ultimate Fantasy Premier League

Joe Connolly is the new leader of the UFPL Scout League. He racked up 94 points last time around and moves onto 570 points for the season, enough to earn him fifth spot in the overall standings. Lee C drops into second on 565 points, or 12th overall, whilst Lee Fricker climbs into third on 564 points, enough to take 16th spot thus far. To join our UFPL league, the code is 524-87.

Sky Sports Fantasy Football

Stephen Lambert is the current Scout league leader, after racking up 537 points in the first few Gameweeks. Stephen sits 17th in the overall standings and is just three points ahead of Ashley Rastrick, who is second in our league, and 21st overall, with third placed Jack McKenna sitting on 533 points, earning him 22nd spot in the overall standings so far. The winner of our Sky league, which is also top in the league of leagues, wins £1,000. To join up, the league name is FFScout and the code is 8009000.

Champions League

Our official Champions League game this season is the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) offering – a free, reliable and easy-to-use Fantasy football app. After two rounds of Matchdays, Matt Parsons heads the Scout Legaue with 162 points, though he’s closely followed by Daniel Lord (160 points) and Waleed Cherif on 159 points. There’s an iPad mini on offer to the winner – the league name is Fantasy Football Scout and the pin is 11155.

We’ve set up another league for those brave souls willing to place their faith in the official Champions League game. There’s just three points separating our top three in this competition – rahmanok leads the way on 142 points, closely followed by gkalaf and Pavlle on 141 and 140 points respectively.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Don't rush to get Wally in:
ACL injury is a very serious one - they won't be rushing
he might have put on a pound or two - his initial pace will suffer
Arsenal have lots of midfield alternatives, despite the injuries
He has to get used to playing with Welbeck and Sanchez
His record after returning from injuries (so I've read) is not immediately explosive

Wait and see is my advice, fwiw.

Already taken a hit to get Aguero and Baines in. Is it alright if I don't replace Krul(assuming he's out)?

    Current team.

    KRUL
    Baines Clyne Moore
    Fabregas Sterling Mane Sigurdsson
    Aguero Costa Pelle
    ------------------------------------------------
    McCarthy. Boyd Hutton Chambers
    Bank:1.1m, 0FT.

How important is it to have 11 players?

    Thanks.

      11 years, 9 months ago

Depends on how long Krul is out for if at all. I'm in a similar situation as I've already used my FT. If he's out for just a week then I might stick otherwise sell.

If he is out long term, look at -8pt hit as -2.67pts per transfer. That should help you do the move.

      1. EmreCan Hustle
        • 13 Years

It really doesn't seem worth it tbh. He would give me 1 or 2 points I'm guessing. I can do without a -8.

Maybe for long term, yes. But it'll be -8 this week. I could spread my hits over two weeks. No keeper really stands out as an obvious CS option this week right?

          • 15 Years
          11 years, 9 months ago

I'd def risk it for Forster for example, it won't be a -4 because he will recover points and it saves a transfer for next week as well as being a good long term move. Worst case scenario is -2.

Firmly on the Eriksen Wagon... He himself admitted it took him some time to get used to Pochettino's system and now he reckons(and so do I) that he has finally settled in. looks far more comfortable now and has a good fpl season under his belt(so kinda proven). On set pieces and has probably the best shot from outside the peno box than any player in the league

i have a very similar team with same front 7 but DEF is similarly weak, also have 2 FT and am thinking of doing Fab to Chadli and bringing in baines for Naylor. Such moves have been discussed quite a lot here (see Innsie) and I think it should be worth it

This is one of the options I was thinking of to get Baines in. The other being Pelle > Naismith, Naylor > Baines.

I'm just not 100% sure about Baines..I can't work out why though.

I have that same option too but do not want to get Pelle out with those good fixtures coming up. Plus Naismith might get rested with Europe and all. Anyway, I need to upgrade DEF and I am quite confident that Chadli + Baines will outscore Fab & Naylor or any other of those defenders easily

Then my 2nd question is, is it a transfer that can wait a week?

            This week:
Chadli vs City & Baines vs Villa
            or
Fab vs Palace & Stoke vs Naylor

What's the better of the two?

in theory it could wait but I expect Chadli to further rise in price and I cannot afford losing more cash. Furthermore, it is more fund using the 2 FT now 😉

As fantasy managers do we become blinkered to alternative players?

So easy on this site to become template and just take the obvious for gramted
In reality there probably many alternatives to the tiny amount of playes we discuss

      Absolutely

But with so many with the template teams (me included) if a template player performs and an alternative player blanks, it'll sting us big time.

In my first season I played almost entirely based on fixtures, because my thinking was that the website makers probably had reasonable enough prices, so the way to get ahead of the game was through good fixtures.

I was so strict with it that I would sell a player with excellent form when his fixtures turned bad, on the assumption that his good form was due to the fixtures as much as anything. I also bought players from rubbish teams (i.e. triple birmingham) when their fixtures were absolutely brilliant. Loads of differentials was the result.

I came 13k that season and throughout my mates were telling me how terrible my team was and how fluky i was :D. The big downside was i didn't have some of the excellent value players or what we would now call 'essential' players, because I was too obsessed with fixtures.

Then I discovered FPL and play a much safer, arguably paranoid version of the game.

By the time Walcott is starting Di Maria's good fixtures will nearly be upon him and you won't want to lose him.

If you buy Di Maria right now, it has to be because you think he is essential and with no intention of selling him.

Otherwise you are bringing him in for tough fixtures to sell him when they ease up, which seems backwards.

    Bego (McCarthy)
    Baines, Moreno, Bertrand (Wilson, Duff)
    ADM, Siggy, Sterling (Rambo, Cork)
    Costa, Ulloa, Pelle

Couple of options up my sleave this week with 2 FT and 2.8ITB

Rambo is definately gone this week. So it leaves the big choice being the FWD transfer.

    A) Rambo & Pelle > Chadli or Mane & Aguero
    B) Rambo & Ulloa > Haz (or potentially Fab or Oscar) & Welbz provided they are fit

Pelle still has good fixtures but would trading him to get Aguero be on the money?

Next GW will probably be Ulloa > Zakho if I don't do the B transfer.

    Thoughts?
