The season could barely have started brighter for Raheem Sterling after the youngster grabbed two goals and an assist in the opening three Gameweeks for Liverpool. With Daniel Sturridge sidelined ever since, however, Sterling has struggled to replicate his early form, scoring just once and earning a pair of assists in the subsequent six Gameweeks.

Despite a weekend showdown against Newcastle on his agenda, Sterling is the most sold player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, with over 65,000 owners parting company in order to acquire the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Dusan Tadic and Cesc Fabregas.

In our second members article of the week, we take a look at his displays with and without Sturridge on the park in order to ascertain just why he’s failed to deliver.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

It's amazing how many more aren't to be honest at that level. I suppose dominance takes over and you just want to do your best. I'm right footed but I've played left back most of my life cos our other full-backs left foot is chronic lol Now I'm pretty comfortable on it, and will turn out onto it and shoot with it even if I have time to put it onto my right.

Davis could face a bit of rotation risk but he should score the most points among those 3. Still, Boyd offers the better value. and Obertan could surprise. I'd go Boyd though

cheers mate. think im going w Oberta. sure, boyd is the obvious 90 min nailed. but that team cant score, only 5 goals. and news last 4 won 3 and in firm.
Obertan was very good bak in france, thinking its him + sisoko and that 3rd spot btn cabella and gouffran and even amoebi.
                upfront cisse/riviere.
risk is rotation but thinking bertan can get his 60-70 min p/ game.
                cabella is very talented also.

I'm thinking of going there myself.

He was highly praised by Harry Redknapp and Gary Neville after the Villa game. If I think who his competition is you'd think Clint Hill or A.Traore I'd say he ahead of both not sure about Onouha but he's injured at the mo.

Media and this lad at footy just said that Costa needs surgery...

This place says he trained yesterday..

    What....the...f...is the deal lads?

Think I'll just sell finally and move on without him.

    So annoying this.

He requires surgery to fully recover from his injury, but Mourinho seems happy enough to wait and manage a 75% fit Diego Costa.

Not for me. If you fancy it just spread it over 2 weeks and avoid the hit. Hits are for extreme circumstances only imo

How many minutes will Walcott get this week? Enough to warrant a draft side punt?

Doubt Arsene Wenger uses this site so nobody knows the answer

I think Walcott isn't a legitimate FPL option in any site for a few weeks

Current team 457 pts total, debating a WC this week, maybe just to shake up the midfield& defense, any thoughts?

    Begovic (Krul)
    Ivanovic, Williams, Vlaar, (Caulker, Dummett)
    Downing, Fab, StevieG, Sterling (Ireland)
    Pelle, Welbeck, Aguero
