The season could barely have started brighter for Raheem Sterling after the youngster grabbed two goals and an assist in the opening three Gameweeks for Liverpool. With Daniel Sturridge sidelined ever since, however, Sterling has struggled to replicate his early form, scoring just once and earning a pair of assists in the subsequent six Gameweeks.

Despite a weekend showdown against Newcastle on his agenda, Sterling is the most sold player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, with over 65,000 owners parting company in order to acquire the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Dusan Tadic and Cesc Fabregas.

In our second members article of the week, we take a look at his displays with and without Sturridge on the park in order to ascertain just why he’s failed to deliver.

    Just read trigger's article. I've gone through a similar thought process and descent into insanity, except a lot worse because I'm on a wildcard!

    The main issue is

    a) Costa v Pelle

    and the various effects that has on the rest of my team, as well as

    b) Fab v Haz v ADM

    If I had foster and guzan in my squad, I would start guzan with a far superior fixture.

    Guzan has far superior long term fixtures

    Therefore guzan is a better goalkeeper to buy right now.

    Help out a guy in his first season of taking this game seriously (a few of us casuals in the ML have gotten bored with the same smart-arse winning every year).

    Top of ML by 30 odd points, and still have WC in tact whilst all my rivals have used theirs. Now I really need to use this as a stick to beat them with. It's my understanding that everyone gets a January wildcard on top of the regular one which must be used in that month or it goes wasted. Best strategy would be:

    A) WC mid Nov/early Dec to take advantage of form/fixtures then use Jan WC to set up for rest of season
    B) Hold regular WC until after Jan and season run in
    C) something else?

    Anyone else in similar position?

          Would question if PVA is worth it though. Strings of 1s, 0s don't make a random goal or assist worth it personally. Sunderland are bereft of confidence at the moment.

        yea in hindsight it prob wouldve given KC a better chance but at the moment the best you could hope for is that your next batter gets a hit and therefore an RBI. Not a fan of either team, or baseball for that matter but I did occasionally flip to this game 7 today.

    Get the feeling Costa is going to run riot this weekend and those on the fence (like me) will suffer dearly. Just hard to justify a hit to take Berahino out!

    So captain choices:

    Hazard - Tends to perform without Costa against the big sides, hasn't been prolific, easy game
    Welbeck - Needs 10 chances to score one, potentially a hat trick coming up or 2 points
    Sanchez - Did well last week, strong choice for the armband
    Costa - Will he even start?
    Aguero - Unlucky last week, no doubting his quality but Silva out will hurt and City's from
