The season could barely have started brighter for Raheem Sterling after the youngster grabbed two goals and an assist in the opening three Gameweeks for Liverpool. With Daniel Sturridge sidelined ever since, however, Sterling has struggled to replicate his early form, scoring just once and earning a pair of assists in the subsequent six Gameweeks.

Despite a weekend showdown against Newcastle on his agenda, Sterling is the most sold player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, with over 65,000 owners parting company in order to acquire the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Dusan Tadic and Cesc Fabregas.

In our second members article of the week, we take a look at his displays with and without Sturridge on the park in order to ascertain just why he’s failed to deliver.

    City are a different proposition with 5 in midfield and Aguero up front. 4-2-2-2 never looks good for them.

    Obertan: will he start gw 10?

    given that he came out last gw after 1st half for cabella.
    point is, after today's performance, he could easily start again along w/ sisoko & cabella and goufran benched.

        i take it youre a newc fan...
        what starting 11 do u think pardew will start?

        i wanted to pik Obertan over Boyd for that 5th mid, but now not sure. Think obertan is better player from his early days in france, but boyd's nailed 90 min are more important than Obertan's potential if not assured gametime.

        gw 8 he was excelent, gw 9 he came out after 45 min. Mid Ameobi came in for obertan whereas Mid cabella came in for Mid anita. Maybe its just a one match thing, as Ameobi is a F (but seems to play at new as Mid), or will Cabella start next gw in for obertan sending him back to bench?

        imo they could start:
        anita - colbak
        obertan - sisoko - choice of cabella/goufran
        cisse/ayoze

    Took Villareal to the CL in his first season (2004) and reached the quarter finals in the UEFA Cup. Reached the semi finals the following season in the CL. Finished 2nd, 3rd, 5th with Villareal in La Liga. Later he led Malaga to fourth place in La Liga and to the quarter final of CL where they got knocked out after two stoppage time goals against Dortmund...
