    Has Sanchez been lucky with decent fixtures or is he the real deal? I remember pre season there was talk he might be listed as a striker.

    In my opinion he is the midfield version of Suarez. Ten goals already this season (i think), surely we are looking at a Bale, Ronaldo, Lampard, Gerrard type FPL player?

    I might be biased because I brought him in last night and captained him but I see people recommending Hazard and ADM over him. Really? Not for me.

      I think Sanchez's upside is higher than the other midfielders. That said, he's not going to score a brace every week and if Hazard can add some open play threat to his penalties he could be in the same tier. Di Maria has the advantage of playing every single minute he's fit, whereas the other two could be rotated with fixture pileup.

      So yeah, I agree that Sanchez looks the best midfield option, but I wouldn't say he's guaranteed to be better than the other two.

    and then I need another transfer for the funds:

    N.Taylor to Dummett or Sigurdsson to Downing?

    Not sure about doubling on West Ham. Other option is the Downing move and go with Austin and ignore the City fixture

    SAVING THE WC FOR A DGW

    I was asking before if a Wildcard is worth it to avoid an 8 point hit.

    Of course, I would take the opportunity to optimise my squad a bit in other areas as well, but that is just "tidying up"

    A few people said "No, your wildcard will be worth more for a DGW"

    Is this true? The reason I ask is that I have never managed to keep my WC *this* long, let alone till the DGWs so I have no experience of using it then.

    I am a bit sceptical I suppose because (a) I always seem to accumulate a few DGWers through careful planning and the odd hit, (b) by then you seem to have quite a lot of your squad "tied up" due to price rises so you can't just dismantle your squad and (c) if you get too many DGWers you can end up hating your squad the week after.

    I welcome your thoughts...thanks.

      I don't think so. You can take massive hits for a DGW and hopefully get paid back more easily than you can in a regular GW.

      Difficult. I'm a DGW fan but I have to say that in the past it has not always worked wonderfully well for me!

      I've always imagined a WC should be employed if 5+ transfers are needed at once - this has so far always happened within the first 5 weeks for me, and I have never regretted it.

      By the time the DGW comes around you probably have 7-8 players that you don't want to get rid of because they're season keepers or recent in form players.

      Assuming a base of 4pts for each, it's only 2pt a hit so you can take double the amount. Plan wisely and you can make 4 for -4 and that should be enough as you'd expect some of the players you already have to be in the DGW.

      It can be a bit short-sighted and last season I still took a fair share of hits after the DGW to sort out the players I brought in.
