With an international break looming, we need to cherish this weekend’s action. Fortunately, on paper, the Gameweek looks to have plenty to offer us – beginning at Anfield for Liverpool’s clash with Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho’s side draw up on Merseyside sitting on the Premier League summit to find a faltering Liverpool outfit struggling for a foothold.

Brendan Rodgers men have just two wins in their last seven – a run that has prompted Fantasy managers to turn their backs on the men in red: even Raheem Sterling’s star has faded badly in recent weeks.

Sterling will have the opportunity to show his worth, going up against Chelsea’s cast of midfield heavyweights – Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas and Oscar. Meanwhile, up front, Fantasy managers will be monitoring Diego Costa’s sharpness. Once an “essential” asset, Costa’s recent injury woes have seen enthusiasm dampened – goals today would quickly reverse that.

The early kick-off is followed by a quartet of matches, before Chelsea’s title rivals, City, pay visit to Loftus Road.

    It really was a dismal transfer window for Liverpool imo.

    I don't think Moreno or Lovren are up to scratch defensively for £32mil

    Nor do I think Balotelli and Markovic were necessary for £36mil.

    I think Can and Ricky were the best value for money but overall spending £120mil and playing the way Liverpool are this season is shocking 😕

      I said it at the time and people thought it was me just being bitter about the Liverpool decimation of the Saints first XI. I don't see how you can challenge for the title with players from an 8th placed team. They were stars of that team but they certainly didn't carry it.

      It's very funny. Wen you saw S'hamptons DEF last season it seemed Lovren was the one. Turns out it was Fonte. Markovic has the potential but probably won't get a chance. Lambert would be good if he played week in week out. Lallana was too costly for the player he is. Balotelli - gone in January.

        You're STILL missing the point. It wasn't Fonte or Lovren. It was a TEAM performance. Lovren had bad days, Fonte had bad days. They covered for eachother. They played with one of the best teenagers in the league. They were protected by a fantastic DM in Schneiderlin.

    The way I see it, after 1 Costa goal.

    He has satisfied those that stuck and provided a good performance.

    He hasn't cancelled out the two week gains the Costa-sellers made during his injury/dodgy QPR performance.

    No one is delighted right now. Everyone's relieved.

    You're fine as a seller at this moment as long as you have a plan for getting him in.
