It’s “squeaky bum time” in the ScoutCast studio as Granville continues to chip away at my previously “unassailable” mini-league lead. My co-host stumbled through an injury-strewn Gameweek 12 with the honours, leaving me trailing and worrying that he’ll have clawed it all back by Christmas.

Pressing on, we flog the Hazard vs Fabregas debate once again and run the rule over a cast of budget strikers, desperately searching for the optimum way to spend the two transfers burning holes in our pockets.

We asses the week’s transfer bandwagons, look ahead to Gameweek 13 and take time out to tease Jonty on his Di Maria u-turn. We then combine “powers” to terrifying effect and prepare the ScoutCast XI for their Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round, having flexed its muscles to the tune of a 59-point Gameweek 12. Intimidating stuff.

Lubricate your hinges via this link, or bathe in WD40 via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Thoughts on this team?

    McCarthy
    Azpi Chambers Caulker
    Fabregas Di Maria Sanchez Downing
    Aguero Costa Austin
    --------------------------------------------------
    Foster Boyd Hutton Moore

    Will probably go with Di Maria or Aguero for captain.

    Thanks.

      You tripled up on QPR 😀

      Team looks decent though. If you have a spare FT, maybe you can look to sort out your defense.

    Any chance Moore will get his place back? Who's keeping him out? Real pain in the @rse he's been dropped.

            Have Hutton, probs Yun here.

            Will only transfer him out if I have a spare FT.

            I think with rotation over Xmas, he might get a couple games...

              Depends on your situation. I have Duff and Baines so for me I'm in danger of only having 2 defenders this week. My hand is forced really.

        There will be plenty of rotation and injury niggles throughout December. I think it would be wise to have a full bench of options

      Estimated minimum 2 days to rise according FFF

      FPS says he at 72.8%, so I'd expect him to rise by Sunday at this point

    a) Costa & Siggy

      Ryan made a great point about reliability & consistency last page.
      I agree with him, it's why I've kept Siggy since Gw1 & why I only get rid of Costa because of the injury. Plus, Costa's an easy skipper each week. Many would not feel at ease w/ the armband on Bony, you could even argue Hazard's a hazard in away games (sorry). So the former wins for me on the captaincy aspect.

      Now for double-digit hauls & general "explosiveness", they are abundant in B. With PK's in both of their lockers. Keep in mind they are also notoriously streaky players who bounce, & you better be lucky to catch that brace on the first dribble 😉

      Though I think I'd take the the riskier option that provides more goal threat, at the expense of the reliability. You reap what you sow, & at this current point in the season the risky duo edges it out for me. The higher ceiling of a possible 4 goals each w/e convinces me fully to opt for B.
      In contrast to the better value mid w/ assists & FK's in his pocket + the ex-communicated Spaniard who won't let you down with a goal, even on a bad day (when Hazard scores a hat-trick)
      😉

      B for me

    Last year A. Carroll had almost 2 headed goal attempts per appearance.
    (He had 5 alone in the Everton game this year too)

    Interestingly, A.Cresswell has produced over 4 crosses per match so far this season.
    So with WHM's fixtures up to the Jan WC, I think a £5.4mil Cresswell is a decent shout.

        That's just the thing... this only adds to the value Cresswell already has.
        He's 2nd only to Baines in chances created amongst the defenders.
        And, we already see he's one of the most prolific crossers of the ball too.
        Finally, if Carroll is healthy they'll be enough mins for him over the log jam of upcoming fixtures.

            not really loving the Hull defence and fixtures

            Plus it would be to enable Rooney in this week. Want to maximize points potential 🙂

            Baines, Pelle, Adm > Yun, Hazard, Rooney (-4) on the cards.

            Against the grain on here, but when i played around with it on transfer page...it just jumped out to me.

    A. Baines & Downing -> Rangel/Naylor (5.4 max) & ADM
    B. Chester -> Yun/Naylor/Rangel/Azpi/JT

            Can't go wrong w/ Azpi right now, Naylor's on the rope, though Yun could provide a nice little cushion if you need the change.

      if krul is your only keeper then he should be the priority.

      else sell bruce for yun..clear one deadweight..in case downing not playing just play 433 and ride it out.

      Current Team:

      Krul - Foster

      Costa - Kun - Welbs

        Yeah - you do have some decisions to make here.

        No Swans , for there "good run" Would look at Siggy or Bony or both even , to come in for Chadli and/or Welbeck

          Would leave me with Clyne (tough games) Jags & rotate between Yun/Duff/Wisdom.

          Will probably offload Clyne to a Swans def next week if I go that way.

        Its really tough. Moves will actually decide my team formation for future, so dont wanna make some stupid transfers. I want Oscar, Rooney but getting both is looking difficult 😐
        In your case, A gives a better balance. I have Coleman too, so losing Baines wont impact much to me.

    Best move here fellas?

    A) Pelle -> Bony (and save a transfer)
    B) Wisdom & Pelle -> Caulker/Naylor/Bartley & Bony
    C) Chadli & Pelle -> ADM & Kane
    D) Chadli & Pelle -> 9.4m & Austin
    E) Chadli & Pelle -> 5.0m & Rooney

    Bank 0.8m, 2 freebies

    Krul, Elliot
    Terry, Chambers, Hutton, Wisdom, Yun
    Sanchez, Hazard, Siggy, Chadli, Albrighton
    Aguero, Costa, Pelle

      Why do you want to sell Wisdom? He's fantastic value. Might end up being my only season keeper the way WBA are playing and how he's ticking along nicely.

      I don't think there's much value beyond Downing in the cheapie-mid bracket, so would go for A or D. Austin is a good choice.

      ps. mind answering my question just below? 🙂

      I'd do A in any case right now. I would leave your other FT floating til later in the day & see what the hell is going on with gringo Chad. If he's fine, you're in a great position to stay firm.

      I'd also take Downing's fitness into account, he might be a great replacement now or in the near future for him. Also, with 0.8 ITB, you could afford Mirallas soon, perhaps your FT could do you good next week 😉

        Yeah, I've got an eye on Mirallas actually.

        Was toying with Wisdom & Pelle -> Bartley & Bony

        This would generate enough cash for Chadli -> Mirallas next week

        Whatcha reckon?

          Hmm, not too sure about Wisdom out. He has WHM, hul, AVL, & qpr after city.
          Maybe this isn't the time to get rid. He's great value at that price & rotates nicely with Hutton.

    Lads, I'd appreciate some of your expertise on a draft league trade idea 🙂

    Would you trade Jay Rodriguez for Downing? J-Rod returns in 4-5 weeks and might be sold to Spurs with Pochettino, while Downing is currently carrying a little knee injury himself.

    I've got an extra forward and Downing's owner has 1-2 too many solid mids so it makes a bit of sense I think.

        Well, I need a playing midfielder after trading Gerrard+Navas for only Toure effectively, so it makes sense right now.

        Do you think its a fair and reasonable trade offer? Do you think he'll accept?

            He's got Gerrard-Navas-Rooney-Downing in midfield, and only Fletcher and Walters up top, so instead of benching one of the midfielders it might make sense to punt on a forward, which is the position he's weak in.... At least that's how I see it.

      Not madness. The good fixtures extend beyond that too.

      I do think the general strategy on FFS is to assume everything will stay the same. I.e. sterling is out of form so it won't change. This method is safe but quite reactive.

      Obviously lots of things do change and that could very likely be one of them. When he scores there'll be a bandwagon
