It’s “squeaky bum time” in the ScoutCast studio as Granville continues to chip away at my previously “unassailable” mini-league lead. My co-host stumbled through an injury-strewn Gameweek 12 with the honours, leaving me trailing and worrying that he’ll have clawed it all back by Christmas.

Pressing on, we flog the Hazard vs Fabregas debate once again and run the rule over a cast of budget strikers, desperately searching for the optimum way to spend the two transfers burning holes in our pockets.

We asses the week’s transfer bandwagons, look ahead to Gameweek 13 and take time out to tease Jonty on his Di Maria u-turn. We then combine “powers” to terrifying effect and prepare the ScoutCast XI for their Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round, having flexed its muscles to the tune of a 59-point Gameweek 12. Intimidating stuff.

Lubricate your hinges via this link, or bathe in WD40 via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Hmmm Sakho -> Ings -4? I have no bench whatsoever so i guess is worth it over the two if Sakho dosent play. Have exact money so cant go Austin.

            He played well but more importantly Spurs came to life after his introduction.

              'After his introduction' Starting on the bench is a good thing for his chances of starting this weekend. I'm beginning to think Kane is starting to become first choice.

              Did Adebayor and Soldado play?

                Beginning to look that way. Soldado started and was good for a laugh once again.

                  Adebayor still injured then? I think he's still the main competition. I can't see them both starting up front together without one of Chadlii or Eriksen being dropped.

                    No idea, honestly. There are rumors of a dressing room bust up with Ade being the culprit.

      Have you considered holding Sakho and sorting out a bench player instead? Sakho might only miss one more game.

    Decided to keep Clyne, so which one?

    A. Baines & Downing -> Rangel/Naylor (5.4 max) & ADM
    B. Chester -> Yun/Naylor/Rangel/Azpi/JT

    current team:

    Krulliot
    Baines Clyne Chester Hutton Wisdom
    Sanchez Fab Siggy Downing Marney
    Kun Costa Austin

            Can't go wrong w/ Azpi right now, Naylor's on the rope, though Yun could provide a nice little cushion if you need the change.

            Azpi for me though Nabil, feel Chelsea defense will reward you immensely in the immediate future

      if krul is your only keeper then he should be the priority.

      else sell bruce for yun..clear one deadweight..in case downing not playing just play 433 and ride it out.

      alternatively just save ur FT..i think downing is fine and u have 3 playing def..worst case just play wanyama if downing never play.

            depends on whether westham will finally keep cs..which is unlikely given their attacking approach..villa is in defensive crisis..fabianski the best out of the 3 imo.

            if not try heaton or foster if u want to go cheap. Undecided on either

        Other defenders are:

          if u decided to keep clyne might as well play him right unless ur replacement is outstanding. The only time i bench clyne so far is against pool..and he got a goal

    Best move here fellas?

    A) Pelle -> Bony (and save a transfer)
    B) Wisdom & Pelle -> Caulker/Naylor/Bartley & Bony
    C) Chadli & Pelle -> ADM & Kane
    D) Chadli & Pelle -> 9.4m & Austin
    E) Chadli & Pelle -> 5.0m & Rooney

    Bank 0.8m, 2 freebies

    Krul, Elliot
    Terry, Chambers, Hutton, Wisdom, Yun
    Sanchez, Hazard, Siggy, Chadli, Albrighton
    Aguero, Costa, Pelle

      If you can get just another 0.1, I'd go E with Jedinak. But since you can't, I prefer A with Bony or Austin.

      Why do you want to sell Wisdom? He's fantastic value. Might end up being my only season keeper the way WBA are playing and how he's ticking along nicely.

      I don't think there's much value beyond Downing in the cheapie-mid bracket, so would go for A or D. Austin is a good choice.

      ps. mind answering my question just below? 🙂

        I don't particularly, but his fixtures aren't great and if Chadli is out it might be worth having a better sub this week.

      C would be good if Kane wasn't such a punt.

      I don't like 3 Swans so how about Naylor and Austin? Fix Chadli next week

      I'd do A in any case right now. I would leave your other FT floating til later in the day & see what the hell is going on with gringo Chad. If he's fine, you're in a great position to stay firm.

      I'd also take Downing's fitness into account, he might be a great replacement now or in the near future for him. Also, with 0.8 ITB, you could afford Mirallas soon, perhaps your FT could do you good next week 😉

        Yeah, I've got an eye on Mirallas actually.

        Was toying with Wisdom & Pelle -> Bartley & Bony

        This would generate enough cash for Chadli -> Mirallas next week

        Whatcha reckon?

          Hmm, not too sure about Wisdom out. He has WHM, hul, AVL, & qpr after city.
          Maybe this isn't the time to get rid. He's great value at that price & rotates nicely with Hutton.

    Lads, I'd appreciate some of your expertise on a draft league trade idea 🙂

    Would you trade Jay Rodriguez for Downing? J-Rod returns in 4-5 weeks and might be sold to Spurs with Pochettino, while Downing is currently carrying a little knee injury himself.

    I've got an extra forward and Downing's owner has 1-2 too many solid mids so it makes a bit of sense I think.

        Well, I need a playing midfielder after trading Gerrard+Navas for only Toure effectively, so it makes sense right now.

        Do you think its a fair and reasonable trade offer? Do you think he'll accept?

            He's got Gerrard-Navas-Rooney-Downing in midfield, and only Fletcher and Walters up top, so instead of benching one of the midfielders it might make sense to punt on a forward, which is the position he's weak in.... At least that's how I see it.

      Not madness. The good fixtures extend beyond that too.

      I do think the general strategy on FFS is to assume everything will stay the same. I.e. sterling is out of form so it won't change. This method is safe but quite reactive.

      Obviously lots of things do change and that could very likely be one of them. When he scores there'll be a bandwagon

    Who would you rather own for the entire season?

    A) Pelle (0 shots on target against STO hul LEI avl...)
    B) Balotelli (So far very disappointing, but potentially good partnership to come with Sturridge)

        yeah, its not the best question, but I currently own Balotelli in my draft league and considering trading for Pelle despite the fixtures and 0 shots in 4 games

          Ahhh , ok .

          Never played the draft game but would prob hang on to Balo a little longer ( not too long)

            You don't think Pelle is a better choice now that Lambert is on-form?

              I do . Just like to give my "punts" every chance to bring in some points.
              But yeah - you have already waited long enough.,

                If Sturridge was back soon I would keep him for sure, but it just feels like its never going to happen...
