It’s “squeaky bum time” in the ScoutCast studio as Granville continues to chip away at my previously “unassailable” mini-league lead. My co-host stumbled through an injury-strewn Gameweek 12 with the honours, leaving me trailing and worrying that he’ll have clawed it all back by Christmas.

Pressing on, we flog the Hazard vs Fabregas debate once again and run the rule over a cast of budget strikers, desperately searching for the optimum way to spend the two transfers burning holes in our pockets.

We asses the week’s transfer bandwagons, look ahead to Gameweek 13 and take time out to tease Jonty on his Di Maria u-turn. We then combine “powers” to terrifying effect and prepare the ScoutCast XI for their Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round, having flexed its muscles to the tune of a 59-point Gameweek 12. Intimidating stuff.

Lubricate your hinges via this link, or bathe in WD40 via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Looking forward to hearing this later, especially as Di Maria is still in my team and will be taking pride of place in my Gameweek 13 line up. 🙂

U turn if you want, but this Jonty's not for turning. 😉

Buying him for the first time this year sir.
These next 4 fixtures are simply too good to pass up.
(I'd give Rooney a chance but, if he gets shifted deep again in a cpl weeks it's such a waste of a striker's spot)

  5. Costa v Hazard v Sanchez for captain
    Wingate
    • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Costa v Hazard v Sanchez captaincy (for those with no Man U)

    FORM

COSTA v Sunderland (a) - Has scored 7 at home and 4 away. FORM is 5.0 - Owned by 59%
SANCHEZ v WBA (a) - Has scored 4 at home and 4 away. FORM is 9.0 - Owned by 32.8%
HAZARD v Sunderland (a) - Has scored 4 at home and 0 away. FORM is 7.7 - Owned by 18%

Taking into account AWAY form, the way teams generally play more defensively away, overall form, and Ownership, this would suggest Sanchez is a stronger captaincy choice than the Chelsea pair in my opinion.

    ALSO - Bonus Potential

Sanchez has taken Max 3 BAPS on 5/6 occasions he has scored and has 15 so far.
Hazard has taken Max 3 BAPS on 3/4 occasions he has scored and has 12 so far.
Costa has taken Max 3 BAPS on 2/8 occasions he has scored and has 9 so far.

    ALSO - Assist Potential

Sanchez chances created in last 4 matches - 14
Hazard chances created in last 4 matches - 9
Costa chances created in last 4 matches - 8

Anyway... thats convinced me on Sanchez.... who's with me!??!

He's scored or assisted just 17% of Chelsea's goals. Explosive but not consistent enough yet. For me, the consistency of Aguero/Costa wins out for the captaincy, even though Hazard is capable of having GW's that outscore them both.

      1. Piggs Boson
        • 14 Years

But he has changed his game recently. If you compare him to Costa over their last 4 matches there's a very strong case for Hazard(C).

I think he's within his rights to pull out of the trade. It's a risk you take when you make a deal like that. It's an underhand tactic, but a legal one 🙂

Its such a cnutish move though, and I think its such a backstab for someone to do that, and sets a really low standard of sportsmanship in the league.

If you read some of the conversation history that i posted you'll see that i made alot of effort to confirm that he wouldn't burn me, and he accepted several times.

Fabregas is cover for Costa since he assists most of his goals. Hazard is a wildcard mainly because of the pens.

Sanchez - Hazard - Fabregas -Downing
    Aguero -Bony -Rooney

    IMO.

Sigurdsson is always a nice option to have, but I think Bony will outscore him over the next few.
I have Siggy myself, as well.

Siggy the one to have longterm with ACON on the horizon but thinking about doubling up short term. Hazard enough Chelsea for me.

          Sanchez Hazard Siggy Downing

          Aguero Rooney Bony

Doesn't look half bad either. Although I think I'll get Eriksen in for Downing soon.

Nah, in all seriousness, I don't think you should be too worried. I think Siggy offers value which is too good to be ignored, but as Swansea have shown this season they don't create a whole lot of chances, so they're unlikely to score more than 1 or 2 goals.

I can see the value in in-form players such as Siggy and Bony particularly with their fixtures, which is why I have them (still considering the Pelle -> Bony transfer), but I don't think they're in anyway essential.

Nothing you didn't already know anyway 😛

Ahh the lofty days of top 100 post GW2 😀

It seems however that you have fared significantly better in the interim. A combination of selling Costa (as you did I seem to recall :P), and perhaps more potent - not owning aguero so far this season - has contributed to my failings. I've been fluctuating between 20K to 70K pretty much every week.

That being said, hope springs eternal, and the quest for a top 10K finish continues.

Congratulations on your very respectable season thus far!

Selling Costa was a killer wasn't it? I think you should find a way to get Aguero in though, his form is crazy and a brace from him in any week and you'll probably end up with a red arrow.

I've got no doubt you'll get back up to where you belong though, still plenty of the season left. Cheers mate, I'm taking a -8 this week so if that goes tits up then I could drop massively 😆

            Look,
You make good points, but you must take into account the three really tough fixtures they had that usually not only cause players to perform less well due to individual opposition strength, but cause the entire team to play different due to their coach being cautious etc.

I haven't but it sounds like my kinda thing!

Movie wise, check out Interstella 5555 if you like Daft Punk, it's the film for the album discovery. So any of the videos for DP songs from discovery are just parts of the whole film (no dialogue just the tracks from Discovery)

Usually about 2-3 weeks before symptoms and pain wear off, that's before even considering training etc.

Doubtful, treat it very gently. R.I.C.E. is good initially but really icing etc. is only good for the first 24-48 hours. Rest it properly, definitely elevate it as frequently as possible.

You'll know how it's going in a week's time, if it's still very sore then pretty unlikely you'll be doing anything unfortunately.

At least he is capable of thinking for himself despite coming to some very illogical conclusions. Fox just regurgitate bullshit 24/7.
Monsanto are fooked. Just look at them to see all that's wrong with capitalism. Again you have to be careful in a lot of the anti gmo stuff too. A lot of psuedo science spouted on that side of the debate.

Haha, thought this debate was quite sensible (for once hehe) 🙂

Agree on fox. Unfortunately a whole lot of people in the middle 80% of the US (basically everything within the California, NY, and Chicago area of the country) swallow that garbage as gospel.

Monsanto is a monolithic tyrant of an criminal mob. Its not really capitalism at all, but rather (to use a phrase from Gerald Celente), "bankism".

I'd love to hear some examples of the pseudo science that you're saying people like Rappoport spout... Maybe I am a bit taken in by his rhetoric, but I'd love if you could help me see what I'm missing?

I'd also love some advice on whether to captain Sanchez, Aguero, Austin, or (if I buy him) Hazard 😀 I'm leaning towards Sanchez or Hazard

Rio has no effect on Yun.

Yun is nailed on as our left back.

Rio is a centre back. But its true he should be left back. Left back in the dressing room while the rest of the lads are on the pitch.

No.....going without for now. Will probably burn me, but those three should easily cover whatever points the defenders might get.

Hazards next 3 fixtures aren't great when you consider his very ordinary away form. Spurs at home won't be easy either.

Spurs tend to bend over and take it away to top 4 teams unfortunately

I heard Diego Costa and Fabregas and Terry and Courtois and Hazard and Oscar are also part of the deal.
