A disappointing Gameweek 15 finally comes to its conclusion this evening as Southampton brace themselves for the visit of in-form Man United. Louis van Gaal’s side roll up to St Mary’s on the back of four successive wins and will be looking to take advantage of their injury-hit hosts.

Despite the loss of Angel Di Maria to a hamstring complaint, United will be confident of another victory after Wayne Rooney recovered from a knee problem late last week. The Red Devils skipper has scored in each of his last two league appearances and has the chance to stake a claim as a possible replacement for Sergio Aguero in our three-man frontlines tonight.

Robin van Persie, Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini have all been amongst the goals in the last two matches and have the platform to cement a place in Fantasy managers’ thoughts ahead of Gameweek 16.

For the Saints, Ronald Koeman faces a tough task to steady the ship. Southampton have lost each of the last two without finding the net, and with the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin, Jack Cork and Toby Alderweireld ruled out, a ninth clean sheet of the season looks hard to come by.

The misfiring Graziano Pelle – still owned by 22% of Fantasy Premier League managers – attempts to score for the first time in seven Gameweeks this evening, whilst the inconsistent Dusan Tadic may struggle to improve upon a record which has seen him blank in 10 of his 14 league appearances.

If you had Bony and Benteke

    A) RVP
    B) Rooney
    C) Costa
    D) Dzeko
    E) Lukaku

    repost

Anyone who has actually regularly watched United this season would know that RVP has been playing well, just not finishing according to his own standards. The hold-up work and the interplay with his teammates has been more or less quality and the few games where he's been more invisible were from lack of service from his teammates and being isolated up top.

Not saying that Aguero > RVP is THE move, but it's not a stupid one.

In one respect you could say it's a smart one if you're guilty of making many moves because at least you have the money set aside to get Kun back with one transfer (likely) AND the man is building form now anyhow.

I still like Sakho and Benteke as Aguero replacements (already have Bony), but RVP is not off my radar.

I don't think the Aguero back in 1 argument holds - He will definitely be eased back in giving you enough time to plan your moves beforehand. Fair enough on RVP

but that relies on the fact that people actually plan their moves..more often than not people just hit them in/out as they please

    Hey gents.
The aguero thing is making me eye up my wc

What do you think of this team as a base for next month or 2

    Hart and 4.1
    Wisdom* dummett clyne* Hutton* yun
    Sanchez* hazard* toure siggy* isgrove(4.2mill)
    Dzeko Costa* bony

Those with a * are from my original team and therefore cheaper than actual values of that makes sense.
I know the isgrove guy is useless but I won't use him. I've had marney from the start and didn't use him once.

    What do you think?

    1. dribbler
      • 16 Years
      11 years, 5 months ago

so you're playing your WC just to get yaya basically

    2. don parcheesi
      • 15 Years
      11 years, 5 months ago

It seems like you should be able to avoid having two non-players (isgrove and your keeper) if you're on a WC and you have Aguero's funds.

Also, I would make Azpi my top defensive priority. Over Hart, and even over having Dzeko vs. someone cheaper. Or, get Zabaleta at the least. No need for hart.

    Hallo everybody!

    Got this team:

    Foster/Heaton
    Baines Terry Bertrand (Hutton Moore)
    Fabregas(out) Sanchez Downing Chadli (Jedinak)
    Aguero(injury) Costa Austin(out)

Want to keep Fabregas and get rid of Chadli.

Was thinking about Bony > Aguero and Touré > Chadli (no hit).

It is good or you think I should keep some bank and get something smaller than Yaya or getting bigger than Bony on Aguero?

    Thx for your inputs!
