This week’s ScoutCast is a throwback – a return to the days when Granville moaned about his team of red flags and names like Robin van Persie and Yaya Toure dominated our thinking.

Granville and I slip into such subject matter like it’s a pair of old slippers, whilst assessing the Aguero fall-out, the Dzeko option, Ivanovic versus “Dave” Azpi and how I’ve modelled my Fantasy Football management style on Roy Hodgson.

We roll out the regulars and lament the demise of the ScoutCast team – eliminated in the opening round of our own cup competition. Some things never change.

Swim in nostalgia via this link or roll back the years via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Am I right in saying that even if hazard assists a goal for costa, he might get more bonus points?

    Hey guys

    I need your advice.

    My team is

    Begovic
Baines / Yun / Clyne (Chambers / Moore)
    Fabregas / Hazard / Siggurdson / Sanchez / Boyd
    Bony / Aguero (Austin)

    I am between
    A. Aguero, Fabregas -> Costa, Yaya Toure (FTs)
    B. Aguero, Fabregas, Chambers -> Dzeko, Yaya Toure, Ivanovic (-4pts)
    C. Aguero, Fabregas, Boyd -> Dzeko, Yaya Toure, Mirallas (-4pts)

    What do you say?

    Thanks

    1. Heels_Over_Head
      • 12 Years

      1) Keep Fabregas, play Boyd.
      2) Aguero -> Dzeko as Chelsea's fixtures go south after this week
      3) Chambers -> Ivan. Not my first choice, but yours, and its your team.

      Your lineup this week:

      Bego
      Baines Yun Clyne Ivan
      Hazard Sanchez Siggy Boyd
      Bony Dzeko

Cheers! Problem with spending 4 points for a defender is that I will need him to keep a CS in order to break even. I was thinking of Ivan because of his superior attacking threat in case the CS is gone. Also I think that Leicester will score.

I think Sagna will start this weekend anyway, Zaba has played a lot recently.

You could just use your 2FTs and bench Fab for a game- don't think Leicester will score imo, Ulloa's goal last game was pretty jammy and they don't score a lot in general

I watched that game. Newcastle pushed him further out from goal (albeit in the box) than usual and he took a lot of frustrated looking shots. Newcastle looked like they cracked the Costa code. What did you see?

Hadn't seen that one before. Love the name. Voted for it.

Alas, those numbers are upped by a team that is talented but couldn't finish well enough to put the ball in the net as requisite recently. The team on top wouldn't be there if they were actually scoring in my contrarian over-medicated sniffling drowsy opinion.

Arsenal? You are correct. I am very worried about Welbeck/Ramsey, delighted that I have Sánchez.

was referring to the blue team actually

                wish I had Sanchez

some weeks ago I had to choose between Hazard 9.9 & Sanchez 10.3 ... I chose unwisely

                ah well...

--- as for Arsenal... Giroud is good for Ramsey it seems but potentially bad for others... and I don't know what Arsene is going to do with the Giroud / Welbeck rotation... and meanwhile am waiting ad infinitem for Wally... though I don't even know if he can become a starter

I can't even talk about this. I've made a lot of dumb captain choices this season.

I nearly had the armband on Costa this week... and then I got to thinking...

I gingerly moved the armband a few days ago. I keep looking at where it is and ask myself, "What are you thinking?"

Then, I think again... and I leave it as is. It's Friday now, and I don't move the armband for anything except an injury at this point... so the deed is done.

But I'm not going to talk about it, I tell ya... I can't... it won't work... it will fail... it will be misery... but it is there... and that is all...

      yet.........

Tough one. Out of Haz and Baines.
The only ones I would drop for Haz are Boyd or Erikson. If you drop Boyd you could play 3-5-2.

If you want Baines, do Chambers > Baines.

Looking at your team tho you have a good starting 11 so save. Unless you think Haz or Baines will score more.

I don't trust the everton defence, it sounds good but Hull only had 1 shot on target and scored. Just never know what's going to happen with that defence. But I guess you could

depends on what Pellegrini says today about Silva

          I'd prefer Silva
          but
it does look like Nasri might be catching form at the right time and on-form Nasri will get more FPL points than Silva

    Jovetic or Dzeko.

I remember at the start of the season everyone was mad for Jovetic. Could it have come back around again?

Wish we knew pelli's thoughts with regard which one is going to start - at 8.0, and with city's next 4x games, they look VERY cheap with a lot of upside

I think jovetic has goals in him, he plays in aguero's position so should fit into the team well. If both players played 90 mins I'd pick him over dzeko

I just got Dzeko and will stick with him til Aguero returns. Pretty sure there will be alot of tears shed, but it's all part of the edin package.

Morning, have held back on any -4 this week due to H2H.

    Guzan (Eliot)
Terry Clyne Wisdom ( Naylor, Chambers)
Sanchez Siggy Hazard Downing ( Wanyama )
    Costa Bony Berahino

Main differences is he has Baines and also has yet to get rid of Aguero ( already has Costa and Bony)
    best to sit tight?

Should I get Sakho or Jovetic in for Aguero?

Sakho leaves me with a lot more money in the bank. However, City's upcoming fixtures are fantastic and I'm very afraid of just owning Yaya..

    Adrian + Hutton + Eriksen + Lukaku.

All I can pray for is Villa to score a goal. 😉

    Guzan
    Clyne Hutton Wisdom
    Sanchez Hazard(c) Sigurdsson Downing
    Costa Dzeko(vc) Bony

    Elliot, Marney Saylor* Chambers*
