Granville and I get cosy on a two-seater sofa – within touching distance – just how he likes it.

In truth, my-host is getting too close for comfort: the mini-league gap is down to just 42 points, with Granville relentlessly chiping away at my previously unassailable lead.

We review Gameweek 16’s events, including my oh-so bitter Dzeko pill, before discussing De Gea’s uncanny form, the demise of Leighton Baines and my latest set-to with Jonty: are there better options than Diego Costa up top?

The regulars wrap themselves around that lot, while Granville, thankfully, keeps his hands to himself.

Snuggle up to the noise via this link or get up close and personal via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

First time this season that I have no clue what to do. Thoughts are appreciated.

    Foster
    Yun Naylor Cresswell
    Eriksen Sanchez Hazard Downing
    Austin Costa Bony

    Krul Boyd Bertrand Duff

    4.3ITB 1FT.

    1) Save
    2) Duff > Zabaleta
    3) Krul > Hart
    4) Austin > Kane (I know ! but I hate it when my forward plays against my goalie)

rick why not quit at the end of the season? you've invested alot of time into it, have a nice rank.

Just reevaluate at the end of the season...

I kno its a distraction, but nothing wrong with having a bit of fun from time to time

I'll make a poker analogy: Just because you've invested half your pot in a hand doesn't mean you should sink more cash in if you don't think you've got anything to gain.

I tend to fully immerse myself in hobby's and projects, and FPL is no exception. That said my time can be much better spent doing other things instead.

Nah, it was just this silly game taking up my time needlessly. I don't really use social media anymore apart from email and very occasionally facebook. Its become so useless with 2 out of every 3 posts being adverts, only the inbox function is of any use these days.

haha actually u dont have to play so serious and u still can enjoy urself n have a gd rank. just my opinion u can just try to reduce your time n effort instead of quitting it.

But Rick, you spend so much time on here that "The Game" is now secondary.

Even after you destroyed your team you are still on here and I would call this Social Media.

If you need to quit it may be best to quit the thing that's actually taking your time up.

Getting the good scores may have been a by-product o the hours you spent on here.

But then again you may just be a Fantasy Footballing genius.

No doubt, we know how RVP is a killer infront the goal post when he is on form like last two seasons. But do you agree he is really on form now with the 3 goals and 1 assist in the last two match?

    i) vs Sots
First goal - thanks for Fonte lovely back pass
Second goal - somehow is with bit of luck going through between Forster's legs.

    ii) vs Liverpool,
The assist - oh my god. Mata's goal was assisted by RVP??? If yes, then the 12-years old girl next door will be easily explained for "what is an offside"
The goal - Again, thank you for the poor clearance from Lovren, finding Mata to feed the wide open RVP

RVP might be still tempting but I dont think he worth the price tag (12.6) when comparing to Giroud (8.2), Bony (8.6), Austin (6.0), Kane (5.1)...

rvp might not worth it over the season..but if u get him in short spells then price is not that big of an issue.

he just have to perform during that few games i have him. in fact just this gw will do where i (c) him..it will make a huge diff if he scores >10pts and the other captaincy options fail.

haha yeah i think this is a week where u can hope to gain ground without being nervous about losing too much if it fails..when aguero is back it will be hard not to captain him..so this period is important to chase points.

Currently not worth the price tag but I'm watching closely as previous seasons have proved him to be essential! His confidence is back which could lead to goals, goals, goals..

Benteke - Yes. With lovely fixtures and he is hunger for goals.
Mirallas - Not really. Out for thie weekend and he wouldn't finish 90 mins. And NO!!! When you have Baines. Mirallas is grabbing points away from baines...

    Transfer Rumors have begun:

Liverpool are prepared to make a £50m bid in January for Real Madrid's French forward Karim Benzema, 26. (Daily Express)

Manchester United will try to sign Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi, 26, if they fail to get their top target - Borussia Dortmund centre-half Mats Hummels, 26. (Daily Express)

Tottenham and Liverpool are both keen to sign Porto's 28-year-old forward Jackson Martinez in the January transfer window. (Metro)

The Reds are also interested in Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph and see the 25-year-old as a long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard, 34.

          Spurs 1-2 Newcastle
          Spurs 1-2 Stoke

They're a very inconsistent side and seem to have a knack of disappointing us FPL managers when they seem to be getting into form. Good luck though.

Davies, Eriksen and Kane, I think? Not bad options to have in your team.

Fearful and you will be regretful after the match. Never trust Spurs in FPL!!!

The best part about the Balotelli ban is that its people like Richard Scudamore and his chums who are handing it out, when they themselves are twenty times worse and are probably sitting there right now laughing about it.

yes i know Scudamore is the head of PL, not FA, but the fact that he wasn't fired speaks of the culture that presides at the top of English football (not to mention FIFA, Uefa, etc)

Lucky its just 1 match ban and not any more. The player should have known better although sometimes the FA are very harsh on foreign players compare to home grown players.

WTF??? how many impressionable young children follow this scudamore guy and take his every word as gospel? answer: probably fewer than one. how many kids think that the defining semitic characteristic is greed now that their idol has said so? answer: more. engage your mind please

The culture of an organisation starts at the top. The example set by an companies' leadership is what trickles down to its employees, and the PL is no different.

If Richard Scudamore isn't fined, suspended, or fired over a series of sexist emails, then I don't see why he should be allowed to pass the rule of law and fine one of his subordinates £25,000 for less offensive comments. Its secondary that kids look up to Balotelli more.

I think you should use FPL Players names. It would be better understood.

      I was thinking of

Anita, Winks, Bent, Fer, Long, Bony, Wood.

      They might appreciate it !!
