Sunday delivers a trio of teams tussling for a top-four spot. Arsenal begin proceedings, with Arsene Wenger’s men seeking to recover from a damaging 2-0 reverse at St Mary’s: the Gunners host a dangerously unpredictable Stoke the Emirates.

Following that, it’s a Dutch Maestro face-off, as Man United and Southampton clash at Old Trafford. Louis van Gaal’s side will put their 10-match unbeaten run on the line against Ronald Koeman’s revived Southampton, buoyed by three wins in the last four.

Fantasy managers will be fixated on the returns of Alexis Sanchez against the Potters as he looks to take the opportunity to topple Eden Hazard atop the Fantasy Premier League midfield rankings. With just a single goal in the last six Gameweeks, another big Sanchez haul is overdue. We’ll also have an eye on Olivier Giroud – back from suspension and bidding to come into our Wildcard equation. Equally, Theo Walcott’s pitch time will be of keen interest – returns for the 8.9-priced midfielder could yet disrupt the template currently being formed.

Angel Di Maria is already part of that Wildcard template, with the Argentine expected to be handed a first start since Gameweek 12 when the Saints pay visit. His role and the impact on Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata is likely to occupy our analysis, while Southampton’s defence will also come under scrutiny against a United attack that’s fired 22 goals at Old Trafford.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Respect to anyone who captained Sanchez , and please don't quote Sanchez stats and points etc , with him and Hazard at home if it reversed and didn't pay off it would be a massive red , so fair play to anyone who took the ( educated ) gamble

Im prob the biggest Sanchez fan in this site but still think Haz is on another level...

        that being said

        Haz 8G 5A
        Sanchez 12G 7A

Sanchez has outplayed him this season so far... and he did it with little support on a weaker team..

I think Hazard is a scurrier, a 'try this, try that' sort of a player. He's great at it but I don't think he's as good a footballer as Sanchez.

I think we can stop with the 'avoid United defence' stuff.

Yes de Gea has bailed them out at times, but the guy is a world class shot stopper - that's not going to change.

They've conceded only one more than Chelsea, and haven't let in more than one in a game since October. Only 6 goals conceded in their 10 match unbeaten run up to today. The only question is whether any of their defenders can stay fit for long enough to be nailed on.

Or stay fit so that the team can do defending. Not convinced myself.
Also seem like an injury to Carrick away from more problems.

They are basically like Holland now.

Complete boring to watch, create very little, bit quite hard to beat.

Why am I only realising this now?

Yep. Di Maria is Robben with less clinical finishing, RVP and Blind as themselves... They have a bit more quality than that Dutch side as a whole, but since the switch to 3 at the back, they're primarily set up to be a solid unit.

Who's your other keeper? Hamer has competition for his place with Schwarzer just signed and Schmeichel coming back from injury.
I'd rather have Baines in for Ivanovic or Terry than double up on chelsea defence.

      1. enapace

        My other keeper is Jakupovic

I've so far gone with this system but obviously with WC could change

        Hamer, Jakupovic
        Ivanovic, Terry, Bertrand [Tate, Wilkinson]
        Downing, Chadli, Sanchez, Hazard [Isgrove]
        Austin, Agüero, Kane

I currently have 1.1 million in the bank so if you want recommend a different keeper for max of 5.1. So I'm perfectly willing to switch Hamer for someone you suggest. I think the rest of the team though is pretty solid.

          • 11 Years

I have Hamer and Foster. I'd switch Jakupovic for Foster so you have West Brom cover. Hamer may get one last home match which is against Stock at home. After that, it will be all Foster. With money left over, you can do the following...
I would also bring Wasilewski (Leicester City) for Wlikinson before his price rises. And Baird (West Brom) for Tate.
If you can get Boyd (Burnley) for Isgrove that would be great and mean that you have full cover in all areas of your team.
          Did that help?

Err okay I got all those exactly like you said and can afford them just want clarify before I buy them. Assume you mean I should keep Foster as Starting Keeper and then use the extra defenders and midfielder you want me to switch encase of one of my main players gets injured or doesn't play?

                  Glad I could help.
Hamer is my starting keeper for the next match ONLY because I think Foster is more likely to concede against Everton away.
Also, keep an eye on Baird. He may get rotated but is your best deal, apart from Wasilewski, for under 4.0mil.
