Our Friday lunchtime look at the PlayON Player Price List comes around again as the hours count down until tomorrow’s deadline. As always, we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

PlayON have now extended their deadline for submitting your teams so you can now tinker with your starting XI right up until the first kick-off each week – tomorrow that’s right up to 3pm, when six of the ten fixtures get underway.

Goalkeepers – Joel Robles
With the injured Tim Howard ruled out for a number of weeks, the Spaniard’s security of starts earns him the nod as our left-field pick this week. Having failed to keep a clean sheet so far, Robles only costs 6.0m in PlayON and he’ll be hoping for a first shut-out at home to a West Brom side that have failed to score in five out of their ten away matches this season. West Ham’s FA Cup hero Adrian (7.0m) has registered all four of this season’s clean sheets in front of his own fans. With visitors Hull deprived of their first-choice strikers, Nikica Jelavic and Abel Hernandez, through injury, The Tigers will struggle to improve a record that has seen them score in only two of their last seven away matches.

Defenders – Kieran Trippier
The Burnley right-back is expected to recover from a minor hamstring problem in time for a home clash with Crystal Palace. Despite earning a single assist this season, Trippier has offered plenty of threat down the flank and has created more chances than any defender over the last four Gameweeks – priced at 6.7m, his delivery from out wide could prove crucial for front two Danny Ings and Ashley Barnes. Investment in Tottenham’s defence looks a canny tactic this weekend, given that visitors Sunderland have failed to score in seven of their ten away matches. We opt for the in-form Danny Rose against the Black Cats, then – the left-back has now scored in each of his last two home appearances across all competitions and looks a great value pick at only 6.8m.

Midfielders – Victor Moses
Prior to being sidelined with a thigh injury in mid-November, Stoke’s on-loan winger served up a goal and four assists in eight appearances. Moses was an unused sub at Arsenal last Sunday but with a week’s training behind him, Mark Hughes has been full of praise ahead of the trip to Leicester. Setting you back just 7.6m in this week’s PlayON Price List, Moses’ delivery from the flank looks a likely weapon for the King Power clash – the Foxes defence is rated second worst in terms of aerial attempts against, suggesting he’ll be tasked with feeding Peter Crouch with crosses aplenty. We turn to Spurs once again for our essential midfield pick. Since returning from injury in Gameweek 17, Nacer Chadli has played a part in six of his side’s ten goals, whereas team-mate Christian Eriksen has had a hand in just one. The Belgian seems better value at 9.3m compared to Eriksen’s 11.1m for the visit of Sunderland, then, as the north London club look to continue the form that has seen them score nine times in their last two home matches.

Forwards – Andy Carroll
An impressive strike against Swansea last week was Carroll’s fourth in 11 appearances since returning from injury in early November. With Diafra Sakho still unavailable, the big target is set to carry the Hammers’ main goal threat at home to a Hull side with just one clean sheet in six and, at a price of just 9.8m, looks good value as Big Sam’s side look for their first win in five matches. After weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury, Sergio Aguero (14.8m) returned to action against Everton last week. Whilst his match sharpness may not be fully up to scratch, the Argentine still looks poised to be unleashed from the start at home to Arsenal on Sunday and has the class to destroy a defence that has conceded eight in their last four road trips.

I think he meant the feint to shoot before slotting past the diving keeper, you know! The first bit where he got past the two defenders was scabby.

Best 4m GK to go with Pantillimon? I guess Hamer as he's close to a rise, so is the furthest from a drop when he loses his place?

Indeed not, but seems logical. You never know Schmeical could have an injury setback and Schwarzer is there as back up/ potential coach role, imo.

Exactly. Only Premier League player to make it into Team of the Year. I don't think the BPL has seen the best of him yet at all and people are basing their opinions solely on FPL.

Not FPL just PL. As Il Brutto below says, he has to earn the right to be in the Top 5 players in England not just be thrown in their on reputation at previous clubs.

Hate to leave David Silva out, but I'm not sure he's better than Fabregas. Honourable mentions to Di Maria, Yaya, and Courtois. Sometimes we're all a bit down on the very best players being in Spain, but we do have some absolute quality here.

Absolutely agree with your last point! So much quality on display, and our 'small teams' are far better to watch and harder to beat than the equivalent in Spain, making this the best league in the world.

We have a similar team (as discussed two days ago!). I have your forwards, and your essentially and equivalent back line (except Bertrand and Wasi instead of Clyne and Baird; same difference, really), but you went with Hamer while I have Heaton, and your superior selling value allows you to have ADM whilest I have Chadli. Cool. I certainly like the looks of it.

Fingers crossed, bro. My only hesitation for us is this Carling Cup conflict that could pose issues for GW27 and Chelsea, Spurs, and Man City. Our lot of Blues, Spurs, Austin, Silva & Aguero may require some reconfiguration if Chelsea were to play Spurs in the semi-final. It is worse for me as I have Wasi and Chadli. So, I still may tinker.

    wildcard this:

    Baines, Azpi, Taylor, Duff, Jenkinson
Sanchez, Fabregas, Di Maria, Sterling, Boyd
    Austin, Costa, Kane

    to:

Zouma is one for the future, he was good yes but cahill is first choice

If Zouma retains his place and Chelsea keep another CS he becomes a great option. A wait and see I think

Liverpool, City, Chelsea all to win and Utd vs QPR both teams to score.

    8/1

I've just lost all my money.... right?

Actually think that's a decent bet! Liverpool will be the ones to let you down if it fails

I'll throw a tenner on it - can still cash out for about 50% or so before the open-wide city arsenal match

i think i'm going to have both Wisdom and Baird on my WC. If Baird can hold down a place i'll get rid of Wisdom. If not, well...i dont really know.

Anyone mind giving their reasoning for this gameweek?

I want kun... but am concerned re my comment below. If not I'd stick with Hazard as he's a proven asset and playing a team with a poor top four record.

I'm sure this has been covered, but do we think Kun will start tomorrow? Pels press conference was ambiguous to say the least.

"he has trained in full, we will see if he starts"

Pellegrini wouldn't have risked Aguero 20 minutes if he wasn't fit last week and he just can't go without him this week end.

Aguero will start and probably play +-70 min I guess

£14m for a player who is semi retired playing in Canada aged 32?
    Is this fee a joke?

The whole deal is a bit of a joke imo...

They need him to really perform.

Any help would be appreciated... its been all red arrows the last few weeks

    Foster

    Azpi / Zaba / Jenkinson / PVA / Yun

    Sanchez / Hazard / Silva / Sterling / Boyd

    Costa / Benteke / Kane

    0.6itb 1ft

Shall I just hold for next gameweek, use 2 then and then wildcard before 7th?

Sterling is too much of a question mark at the moment. No one can say in which position he will be playing in two weeks. Origi could joint Liverpool, Sturridge is soon back etc..

      I like Benteke, good differential

Benteke has had 90 minutes every game against LEICESTER wba UNITED swansea SUNDERLAND PALACE and leicester in his last 7 and one goal to show.

No thanks, tried it for the first couple of those and failed

Really struggling with who to bench/captain, so I turned to FFF for some advice. Their recommendation; captain Downing and bench Costa. Think I might rather go for Kane and Austin, respectively, although Downing is one of the other candidates for the bench.

Should I be concerned as I have Jenkinson? Will he play instead of Jenk?
