Get Clyne or Bertrand on WC?

I was sure I wanted Bert, but now Clyne is back from injury and went up 0.1 to match Bert's price, I'm undecided.

    Got 2 FT's before Wc GW 24.

    Forster
    Clyne JT Baines
    Silva Sanchez Eriksen Hazard
    Kane Austin Costa

    4.0 Chester* Hutton King

    1.4m ITB and 2 FT's

    A) chester & Austin out ➡ Baird & Defoe in
    B) Baines & Austin out ➡ Kos & Giroud in
    C) Silva & Chester out ➡ ADM & Jones in
    D) silva & Aistin out ➡ Mata &Giroud in

Totally gutted. 48 and 36 points last two GWs respectively. After WC first took out Sanchez and then Costa > Kun this week. Dropped big time in ML. Can't believe my luck/judgment. Any advice on team welcome...

    Foster Krul
    Terry Berty Clichy Debuchy PVA
    Hazard Silva ADM Sterling Boyd
    Kun Giroud Kane

Thinking Debuchy > Bellerin and, maybe, Boyd > Punch/Elia.

      • 14 Years

Clichy and Debuchy first ones out imo. Down to real cheapies and look for upgrades later. Apart from those and no Costa the team is ok

Thanks. Will do. Live with no Sanchez?

  5. JariL

    9 years, 4 months ago

On WC, and I don't really trust any of the current 4th midfielders (Siggy, Downing, Chadli, Puncheon etc). Thus I'm really starting to like the idea of going cheap at the back to afford this top7:

    Sanchez // Hazard // ADM // Cazorla
    Aguero // Costa // Kane

    Thoughts?

    1. JariL
      • 9 Years
      9 years, 4 months ago

At the back I could do something like

      Foster // Myhill
      Fonte // Wollscheid // Bellerin // PVA // Baird

Playing Fonte every week and rotating the 4 cheapies should give decent enough defense each week (have to check the fixture ticker to work out a solid rotation). Some of you with better TV can even work a Chelsea D in there.

    My WC team.

    Pantilimon / Jakupovic
Wisdom / Clyne / Wollscheid / Baird / van Aanholt
Sanchez / Cazorla / Hazard / Di Maria / Marney
    Aguero / Costa / Kane

    0.2M ITB

Plan (assuming no injuries) is to do:

Di Maria>Silva, if ADM performs poorly and Cazorla>Oscar for a -4 the week after. Oscar is only 15 pts behind Fabregas, has hit form and is a decent price for next week! Triple Chelsea attack will be interesting. Cleansheet points +2 from owning two Chelsea midfielders is nice.

Very similar to my ideas just above! 😀 So I like it a lot.

Also, do you think Bellerin is too much of a rotation risk? Would be make such a cheap defense so much better if you could even get an Arsenal defender in there with their fixtures...

How is this Wildcard team looking?

            Pantilimon Jakupovic
Terry Clyne Bellerin Baird Van Aanholt
            Sanchez Cazorla Hazard Puncheon Boyd
            Costa Aguero Kane

I'm thinking there's too much of a rotation risk in the defense, and I don't like Puncheon as the fourth mid.
            Any suggestions?

Afternoon all! Couple of WC questions, would love some opinions:

    A) Austin + Puncheon
    B) Austin + Boyd + 0.8 (don't know where to spend it though)
    C) Ayoze + Downing

The striker is one of 2 cheap strikers, whilst the midfielder is the 5th mid.
    Whatdya reckon?

Not as nailed, owing to the fact that he hasn't played in the team for nearly as long this season. H/ever, if a replacement is not bought in the transfer window, then I think he will have the spot.

I've got wisdom at 4.2 (had him since GW1) but I think I might cash in for Baird due to WC budget constraints.

Will play my WC in the next gameweek. 1 FT, 2.1 million banked

    Foster

    Ivanovic/Bertrand/Skrtel

    Sterling/ADM/Hazard/Alexis

    Austin/Costa/Kane

Any ideas on what to do?

Hey there rookie. That's one beautiful team. Maybe a punt on Caz or Giroud? If you can afford Austin to Giroud and aren't planning on keeping Austin on your WC then I'd do that.

I have exactly enough in the bank to afford Austin to Giroud, but Austin's stats are still by far the best in the league. In fact, I might even captain him 😯

You sure? He's top for goal attempts, big chances, shots in side the box and yet he only scored from a penalty(last 4 btw). Some would call it "he's doing a Ballotelli".

He's coming close and even if he doesn't play well, he has penalties in his locker to get me some points

PVA over O'Shea for some more attacking threat and a small saving. I'm not a fan of Elia but solid team nonetheless.

Don't have a Chelsea defender but I think I can get away with it until GW26.

    Cazorla/Oscar>Chadli
    Wollscheid>Azpilicueta

seems like a good move then. Who knows though I might like the cheap defence with a great mid-ranged midfielder.

Morning gents. Thoughts about this wildcard draft?

    Pantilimon
    Terry, Bertrand, Koscielny
    Hazard, Sanchez, Chadli, Downing
    Costa, Kane, Aguero

subs: Krul, Boyd, PvA, Baird --- 0.3 ITB

The sensible option for me is Hazard to Sanchez but I ain't gonna captain him so thinking nah, a hit to get Giroud and Koscelny so much more exciting but is it stupid?

I wouldn't bring Kosh in for a hit unless you have no fit defenders.

Would have to to afford Giroud, won't be a better cs chance all season so doesn't seem that risky

This is where I'm at with my WC so far: what do you think?

    Foster
    Terry, Koscielny, Clyne, PVA, Baird
    Sanchez, Hazard, ADM, Puncheon, Boyd
    Aguero, Kane/Berahino, Costa

    Adm->Silva and Kane->Defoe? Think I should stick

I don't feel bad about getting rid of: Chadli, Downing and Terry but I have a bad feeling letting Austin go. Such a consistent player! Stoke, Southampton and Sunderland have all improved defensively lately so I hope they deal with him.

    It's really between:

    A) Terry, Bertrand, Fabregas, Austin - Got Clyne already
    B) PvA, Wollscheid, Cazorla, Costa - One free spot for Oscar/Fabregas

A looks a lot better but my gut is telling me to take a punt on B.

everyone seems to think having a Chelsea defender is germane. someone cited 8 CS in 11 games.

      B. since it let's you have Costa, also if you can get Fabregas in there
