This evening, we roll out the semi-final draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power, and take a look back at the key events during the quarterfinals.

With a score of 62 bobbyg emerged as the top scoring manager during the quarter-finals, which took place during Gameweek 22. He easily saw off round seven’s top scorer 66irons  to progress and earn himself £25 worth of free Paddy Power bets.

His opponent in the semi-finals will be CMIFLFC , who beat  Wolverine in the quarter-finals. CMIFLC, who has an overall rank of 5,439, has activated his wildcard this week while bobbyg, who is ranked 663rd in the overall rankings, still has his to play.

The other semi-final will feature Momalpashands, who beat mjfdept in the quarterfinals, and Harts Hotspurs, the conqueror of United Nations. This will be something of a David and Goliath clash as, with a rank of 555th in the FPL game, Momalpashands is the competition’s highest placed manager, while Harts Hotspurs is the lowest, with a rank of 297,029. Both have yet to play their wildcard. Key differences in their current teams are Harts Hotspurs’s faith in Sergio Aguero and Branislav Ivanovic, while Momalpashands will be hoping Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas will score well enough to see him through.

The full list of quarter final results can be found here, while the semi-final draw in full can be found here.

Good luck to all four managers left in the competition. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

    A) Play Kane against WBA (Pulis) at Home

    B) Play JWP - against a Swansea side without Siggy, Bartley, Bony, Ki

I have this very same dilemma - currently on JWP but also mainly because I have Foster in goal and I don't like my attackers playing my defence.

Who are the budget midfield options now with Siggy out for 3 games, downing with tough upcoming fixtures and does Walters or Moses come into contention following the injury to Bojan?! Who would you choose?

    A - Moses
    B - A.Johnson
    C - Puncheon
    D - Walters
    E - Anyone else??

Why is it different when ships pass in the night rather than in daylight? If anything, they don't see each other so it's a flawed metaphor.

Yeah but it's down to judgement - a bite is a 10 game ban, a life threatening tackle is a 3 game ban. I rather be bitten/bite someone then have my career in jeopardy/end someone's career.

Not convinced Costa will get a retrospective ban myself. Yeah they're both dirty stamps (which he no doubt intended) but he made them look unintentional and it'll be very difficult for a charge to prove otherwise. The lad has playing dirty down to an art form

    The BIG question

    Walters or moses?

    Walters :
    On penalties
    Likely to play up front
    A poacher
has already scored a couple this year

    Moses:
    Great dribbler
    Wins quite a few penalties
    Calm finisher
Very quick and creates a lot

So which one would you pick?

so now that it's a bit quieter, this is the latest draft..after watching today, I'm feeling quite assured going without Costa as he's just a disaster waiting to happen and Giroud + Oscar should more than cover Costa + 5m mid..plus on any given day I'll probably want to captain Alexis/Haz/Aguero over him anyayws

    Foster ᵍ Myhill
    Baird ᵈ Terry ᵈ Bertrand ᵈ Wollscheid ᵈ PvA
    Sanchez ᵐ Hazard ᵐ Walcott ᵐ Oscar ᵐ JWP
    Defoe ᶠ Aguero ᶠ Giroud

I think it's a mistake to go without Costa. Also think triple Arsenal attack is too much regardless of their kind fixtures. The back line and defense looks good though.

oh I agree on that basis, I just meant that Chelsea defense looked all over the place and Liverpool aren't even anything special..even without YYT City could go ape on Chelsea this weekend tbf

I'm probably benching Terry and expecting a 3-4 goals in the match

B more assured of playing time on the whole as I don't think Caz is definitively nailed on for the foreseeable future

Downing could still come good but those fixtures aren't peachy

ADM depends immensely on the formation LVG picks (ie not 352) and whether he plays him in his proper midfield spot (preferably LCM or LW) instead of up top, but fixtures are great

don't think Punch is really on any set pieces anymore but he's cheap and nailed in a team that likes attacking football and some of the fixtures are certainly more than decent

Ok so what are the chances of Ivory Coast losing AND Costa getting banned for this weekend?

Falcao punt would tempt me if he gets banned but I still can't see it happening so not really thinking about it too much.

    Begovic Foster

Terry Fonte Wisdom Van Aanholt Duff

    Sanchez Hazard Henderson Downing Boyd

    Aguero Costa Kane

    - Courtois & Koscielny over Terry & Begovic (Gives me ARS defensive cover)
    - Hazard & Sanchez or Oscar & Sterling
    - Punt on someone other then Henderson, A.Johnson?

Ospina and Begovic are both 4.8

Krul won't keep CS under Carver

I have 0.2 ITB for Costa to Sturridge when he inevitably gets banned
