The final day of the winter transfer window was largely uneventful, with only Chelsea prepared to spend big to bolster their title bid. Here’s a quick rundown on the main deals that went through by 11pm, with Scout Reports and Moving Target features to follow over the next few days.

Juan Cuadrado – Fiorentina to Chelsea
With Andre Schurrle leaving for Wolfsburg earlier in the day, Jose Mourinho boosted his options in the final third by snapping up the Colombian from Fiorentina as Mo Salah headed out to the Serie A side on loan. Versatile enough to play in any of the three attacking midfield slots, Cuadrado’s best hopes of barging into the Blues’ first XI could be on the right flank at the expense of Willian, who has managed just a single goal and assist in 22 league appearances. Cuadrado arrives on the back of four goals and as many assists in Serie A this season but whilst he may manage to get past Willian on the right, he faces a tougher challenge to oust Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas and Oscar in our Fantasy affections. Coming in at 8.5, he’s slightly more expensive than Oscar (8.4) ahead of showdowns against Villa, Everton and Burnley in the next three.

Robert Huth – Stoke to Leicester
Having played just four minutes for Stoke this season, it’s fair to say that a loan move to the King Power Stadium should boost the German’s chances of greater pitch time. The Foxes have been far from resilient so far and managed just four clean sheets – given that skipper Wes Morgan has played all but one league match, there’s a fear that the 4.7-priced Huth’s arrival could threaten Marcin Wasilewski’s run of 14 straight starts and potentially deprive us of a 4.0-priced starter in our 15-man squads. Banned for Gameweek 24, Huth then faces three difficult road trips (ars, eve, mci) with a blank Gameweek 27 prior to his visit to the Etihad. With three goals and an assist to his name, though, Jeffrey Schlupp’s out of position potential on the left flank has already served up three goals and the Ghanaian, at 4.5, is the most appealing option here.

Wilfried Zaha and Lee Chung-yong – Man United and Bolton to Crystal Palace
Zaha’s loan deal at Selhurst Park was made permanent by Alan Pardew after he failed to convince at United, whilst Lee joins in a deal that sees Barry Bannan move to the Reebok on loan. Despite praising Zaha’s recent loan displays, the new Eagles boss has started him in just one of his first three Gameweeks in charge and turned to the 5.1-priced midfielder as an impact sub late on in matches. Although Yannick Bolasie could potentially still be out of the picture for two more league outings, Pardew also has Dwight Gayle and Jason Puncheon offering alternatives out wide, suggesting Zaha and Lee face a struggle to nail down a spot in the XI. For now, Puncheon’s two goals and an assist in three under Pardew has made the biggest impression. Over 85,000 snapped him up last week ahead of upcoming clashes with Leicester, Newcastle, West Ham and QPR in the next six, though the Eagles’ numerous options out wide clearly offer Pardew the option to chop and change.

Filip Duricic – Benfica to Southampton
Having sold Jack Cork to Swansea on Friday, Ronald Koeman bolstered his central midfield options by acquiring the Serbian on loan from Benfica until the end of the season. An attacking midfielder, Duricic has fallen out of favour at his parent club and failed to impress at a loan stint with Mainz 05 earlier this season, with no goals or assists over 11 appearances. His arrival merely adds to Koeman’s options out wide, though, and with Dusan Tadic, Sadio Mane and Eljero Elia all vying for the spots on the flanks, Duricic faces a tough task to break into the Saints’ XI.

Aaron Lennon – Tottenham to Everton
Roberto Martinez bolstered his attacking options by snapping up the Tottenham winger on loan until the end of the season. A peripheral figure at the Lane, Lennon has played just eight minutes from Gameweek 15 onwards and he’ll be hoping a move to Goodison can reignite his flagging career. At 6.2, he’s cheaper than Kevin Mirallas and Ross Barkley, but with the likes of Aiden McGeady and Steven Naismith also offering Roberto Martinez options on the right, it remains to be seen whether he can nail down a regular role in his new surrounds.

Davide Santon – Newcastle to Inter Milan
The Italian’s loan return to his native country lessens the competition at left-back for Newcastle under John Carver. Santon has failed to break into the Magpies’ XI since recovering from injury and the new man in charge has instead turned to Massadio Haidara in the last two matches. At just 4.1, Haidara strengthened his case for a regular role by serving up an assist in the weekend win at Hull, serving up an 11-point return in the process. Next up, it’s Stoke, Palace and Villa in the following four.

Play them because they're all good for every game. Wouldn't bench Sánchez Santi/Giroud Kane Erisken in any game, so that's a reason. There's better fixtures for all of them though and I guess, that like the rest of us, you're not really tempted to captain one of them..

Southampton have kept 3 clean sheets only on their travels this season. They're up against QPR this GW, a team which attacks and looking to stay up. Good idea to bench Southampton defender this week.

    DDG
    Terry, Gardos, Cameron, Baird, Yun

2.9 in the bank. Want to get Clichy in this week and Kosc/Bellerin next week. Can afford Kosc but think 3 big hitting defenders could be too much.

So who goes this week? Gardos or Cameron to Clichy
And other to Bellerin next week sound good?

Cheers Ryan. Will give me 1 more week to see if Bellerin is further nailed, and City have more chance of a cleanie v Hull. So Clichy in for Gardos does sound best, thanks

Uggh. Would be perfect wouldn't it. 4x90's in a row.
Would you prefer going with Kosc as the big hitter Innsie? Could bring in a cheaper defender this week, looking at PVA + Dummett. And then grab Kosc next week post Spurs fixture?

Yeah I'd avoid City defence, too much rotation with Clichy/Kolarov and Zab/Sagna, and Kompany is injury prone. It'd be typical of City to concede in these 'easy' fixtures too.

Why don't you consider getting another Saint? Fonte and Clyne are both good shouts and I expect Southampton to continue being solid at the back. PVA is good value too. Kosc will be consistent but if we somehow find out that Bellerin is nailed then I'd prefer him + 1.5m.

Yeah perfect sense there Innsie. CHE, SOU is necessary cover... City does seem too risky when you put it like that. Bellerin is a steal if he can lock it down. And PVA and Dummett rotation looks good to me so will move towards that over next few weeks.

That's what I'm thinking/leaning towards. Wouldn't mind shipping Cameron, though, as I can see NLD being a goal fest with both teams highly scoring and in form. Need a full squad for GW27, too.

I thought City v Arsenal was going to be high scoring too but Arsenal got a CS. Anything can happen, wouldn't be surprised by a Kosc goal either. Saving is the better option IMO, although I see why you want to sell Cameron ASAP.

Definitely save the trannie here Davies, don't get too worked up over Cameron for now. You can manage to play Kosc for sure this GW, his goal threat may well come back to hurt you on the bench.

Next week with 2 FT's, see how you want to tackle the DGW and assess when would be the best time to get rid of Cameron. Your FT's are limited come the blank, so make sure you put them to good use

Not that silly mate, as long you have a solid defense who can cover for him if/when he's rotated with Cahill. No complaints from me on getting him, just don't go too overboard by getting both him and Bellerin IMO. You won't get better value than a 4.8 Chelsea defender mate, hop on while the goings good

Zasa with so many good ARS options, there's no point to waste on ARS defender? Surely a CHE or SOU can do as well as Bell/Kosc/BFG?

Wouldn't go as far to say there's no point and I'm not a fan on investing on 3 Arsenal attackers at all. IMO, I don't expect the Saints to repeat their defensive displays form the beginning of the season, albeit they will be a tough nut to crack. Just see more solidity from Arsenal and Chelsea throughout the rest of the season. I'd argue United are on board for a clean sheet sweep this second half.

Just my take on it mate, the Saints are solid at the back and both Wanyama and Schneid are back in training so if all goes well they'll retain their shape of old in the back. It's really all personal preference mate, one could make a good case for any of the current top 7 (bar Spurs) pertaining to their defensive solidity throughout the rest of the season.

There was a community article the other month from the 3rd Turd, highlighting how the top teams of old (United, Gunners, City, Pool. Chelsea) tend to nearly always tighten up at the back the second half of the season.

I also hear what you're sayin', and that's kind of what I am leaning towards. My other defenders are Skrtel, Clyne, O'Shea, Hutton, and Chester (who would be the one I am looking to get out for a replacement with up to 6.1 to spend). Another name that comes to mind is Janmaat. Nice two games, and then schedule gets a bit tough for Newcastle, though. Could also do Skrtel to Ivanovic.

The speed element. Just quicker than Cahill, which a lot of people, including myself, seem to think is a better fit with Terry. All in all, Zouma just appears to be a better natural athlete than Cahill. I could definitely see Cahill getting a shot at reclaiming the spot, however. Guess we'll see how it all plays out.

                Thanks,
I had been riding Costa/Haz/Fab through most of season and had taken me up to 5K rank but dropped Costa for Giroud this last week. Was trying to avoid picking up Chelsea until after the blank, but if Zouma starts another one, the bandwagon will be in full form. Need to fill a blank in the back and he would be ideal at that price, but I likewise, for this week, need something reliable, I think.

Might move off of my triple Chelsea before the blank by cashing my profits on Fab. Undecided, but if I don't, I'm going to have a benching problem for that blank week cuz I have Kane also.

Who do you think will let go? Or would you just go with ten? Sometimes not a bad decision. Probably wouldn't want to ship out a Spur since they have good DGW right after.

Chances of Burnley keeping a cleansheet at home to WBA? Somehow have Trippier in my team, think he might be a nice differential if Burnley keeps a CS + he's due attacking returns if last season's assist record is anything to go by.

Well he could get a clean sheet, last season's attacking returns don't look to have any relevance, though.

To often the new players are overpriced, but the expectation around them means that they attract owners anyway.

    GK for this GW only

    A) Heaton (WBA home)
    B) Pantilimon (Swansea Away)

I'm playing Panti every game regardless of who my other GK (Krul) is playing, in your case, as a previous Heaton owner, I would do the same...Burnley always concede

There really isn't any good midfielders under 8.2 to be honest, it's why I've had to go without Giroud up front so I could pack more punch in the midfield

    RMT - please!

    Panti/Foster
    Terry/Bert/PVA/Baird/Wasilewski
    Haz/ADM/Downing/Sanchez/Boyd
    Giroud/Kane/Aguero

Looking at pulling the trigger on Bert & Downing > Clyne & Caz (-4)

    Thoughts?

Just had a look at your team, I think you need to look at getting rid of Chadli and Downing.

I may also trade Pelle out as he is not a good striker

Defence: Zouma and Bells might not be nailed... Villa are rubbish, better options than Hutton (it looks like you intend to start him given your line-up.

Safer to spend some cash on Terry/Kosc/Soton defender.

      Get Kane instead of Gayle.

Most definitely. After the Chelsea game, I will never bench him ever again. Even if an alien team from outer space that is comprised of 9-foot-tall beings who make Pele look like an amateur comes down to earth and challenges only Kane himself to a 90-minute match. He would score.
