Arsenal rack up a ninth win in ten Gameweeks with a commanding display at the KC Stadium. Alexis Sanchez nets twice and Aaron Ramsey chips in with a goal and assist, as Stephen Quinn heads home Hull’s consolation in the 3-1 defeat.

Sanchez at the double as Arsenal flourish

Alexis Sanchez stole the headlines with a brace at the KC Stadium as Arsenal staged a free-flowing, attacking masterclass to record a 3-1 victory over Hull City. The Chilean forward opened the scoring with a deflected free-kick, before latching onto Aaron Ramsey’s superb through ball and calmly rounding Steve Harper for the Gunners’ third of the evening.

Sanchez fourth brace of the campaign strengthens his case for inclusion as Fantasy managers eye up Arsenal coverage ahead of their double Gameweek 37. Those looking to draft in the 11.3-priced midfielder – who’s netted three goals in four league starts – may well consider making a straight swap with Eden Hazard to free up the substantial funds. Hazard’s consistency (attacking returns in 14 of previous 20 starts) is undeniable, yet Sanchez’ explosive capabilities have now seen him return double-figures on eight occasions ahead of his four fixtures in the final three Gameweeks.

Ramsey impressed once more in his sixth successive start since a full return from injury in Gameweek 29. The Wales international boosted his tally to three goals and four assists over that period and, priced at 8.7, has edged ahead of Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla in the race for our double Gameweek attentions.

Olivier Giroud drew a blank for the third match on the trot, having netted in six consecutive outings before Gameweek 32. The French marksman only mustered four shots in Arsenal’s last two fixtures, with none of these efforts forcing a save out of the opposition’s goalkeeper. Conversely, Sanchez has chalked up 10 shots (four on target) across the last two, perhaps rendering him the premier captaincy pick for Arsenal’s double – already, the Chilean has risen in price and has been snapped up by over 26,000 FPL managers since the weekend.

Arsene Wenger named an unchanged XI from that which played out a 0-0 stalemate against Chelsea last Gameweek. Danny Welbeck missed out with inflammation in his knee, but Wenger revealed before the encounter that he expects the former Manchester United frontman to be passed fit for their Swansea City clash next Monday.

Hull outclassed by buoyant Gunners

Steve Bruce also fielded an unchanged side as Hull fell to just their second home defeat in six. Stephen Quinn bagged his first goal of the campaign, while Ahmed Elmohamady notched his second assist in as many outings – the 12,600 Fantasy managers that drafted in the Egyptian on the eve of the Tigers’ double Gameweek will be hoping he can sustain that momentum when they host a Burnley outfit devoid of inspiration next weekend.

A subsequent trip to Tottenham Hotspur and home tie against Manchester United on the final day of the season present the Yorkshire club with a testing finish that doesn’t appear conducive to strong Fantasy returns. Nonetheless, the Tigers – who sit just one point behind 18th-placed Sunderland – will doubtless be fighting tooth and nail to avoid the drop, which, as evidenced by their recent results against Palace and Liverpool, could translate into results on the pitch.

Apparently New York City FC is handing out song sheets to supporters to try to get them to generate some atmosphere at home games after a poor start in the MLS. 😆

Im thinking of taking an 8 point hit this week.

Moreno, Sterling and Hendo out for Koscielny, Alexis and Gomez.

    Leaves me with

    Myhill (pants)
    PVA-Kosc-Clyne
    Alexis-Rambo-Hazard-Silva-Gomez
    Kane-Kun(c) - Tekkers

    Worth it?

At least you'll get three good games out of them. Not sure Gomez makes much appeal tbh. His only attraction is pens and SUN don't get much of them.

As SUN don't score many goals, I recommend you get 2 defs and Pants.

Morning, lads. In a dilemma here to accommodate Sanchez, as I am reluctant on losing Silva at home against QPR. Would you rather:

    A) Sterling + Giroud âž¡ Sanchez + Benteke (-4) now, then Silva âž¡ Ramsey next week (Belle, Ramsey and Sanchez for the DGW)

    B) Kane âž¡ Benteke now, then Silva + Sterling âž¡ Sanchez + Gomes (-4) next week (Belle, Sanchez and Giroud for the DGW)

    Team is linked.

    Cheers! 🙂

Tbh Leicester for the DGW made a huge difference, there aren't so many tasty differentials around now so unless he has the gumption to start chasing and you have him covered in the DGW you should be ok. I'm getting Cazorla over Sanchez to try and catch mine, if it fails I will fail miserably.... Why didn't Guzan start the weekend, will he be back next game?

Given may well keep his place I think. Solid performance v Everton. Guzan's confidence seems shot.
Thinking Ramsey or Cazorla in for Hazard/Silva game week 37 depending on his transfers in. Want to match up.
Blocking now seems the best route would you agree?

Was a long time lurker on here and posted before DGW questioning whether loading up on. Leicester was blanket coverage given their game against Chelski would end in points earned for only one side, thankfully a few voices on here changed my mind and Kasper, Morgan and Albrighton have seen me jump from 12,000 to 2,460 in just two game weeks for what will surely be my highest finish ever. Many thanks to all on here.
Now the dilemma, if I could claw back another 70 odd points I could actually win my two big money leagues but the differentials I had are now disappearing. So the question is it worth risking Caz over Sanchez, if Alexis were to disappoint and Caz hit his Christmas scoring rates it could be the diff I need. Worth the risk??

    1. Jafalad
      • 16 Years
      11 years, 4 days ago

Caz is a good low risk diff. A defender plus Sanchez could be the way to go. I also think 3 SUN defs will also help your cause too as they score so few goals.

Any opinion on Ozil or Ramsey, have Sanchez and Bellerin already.

21 points vs 50 points in last 6 GW's if that counts as an opinion!

Best defender at 5.0 or below to replace Moreno for the rest of the season?

Already have Koscielny/PvA so doesn't need to be a DGW player.

Maybe you can keep him and get someone from Hull as your 5th defender as 1 GW punt against Burnley.

    Dilemma here, need some help

I need a forward and my plan was Benteke for this week, but in my mini-league the Leader just did Giroud out > Benteke in, and he has Ospina and will have Sanchez & Ramsey for DGW37. ( and this will be the main targets for the other managers in mini-league)

So, should i forget Benteke now, And pick Giroud, as he will be a differential and go without a ARS defender?

or go with Benteke, due his current form and try another differential, like a Sunderland player or one of Cazorla/Kos/Mert?

How do you know s/he made that exact transfer?

I'd go with Benteke and Kos.

Ah, thought it might be that haha. Was wondering if I had missed a trick somewhere! Am 60 points ahead of 2nd place and am concerned about being overhauled.

Can you compare Downing's (avl) and Sterling's (che) chances of getting something from next week, who's better to get rid of earlier?
